I loved this product at first, I raved about this product to everyone. After a few months of using it I started noticing my wrist hurting because of the way it slammed when the vegetable chopped. I had to stop using it so frequently because of the pain in my wrist. Not long after this the hinges broke, which was a blessing. My wrist is still in pain when I put pressure on it and I haven't used the product in over a month.

I absolutely love this product, but the one I bought at a store broke, the hinge broke off on the bowl. So I bought the sturdier one and was chopping mushrooms and the hinge broke on that one too. Like another reviewer, I wish they made these things a little more rugged. I mean, breaking it on mushrooms?? None the less, I have bought this for several friends and they like me can't live without it. Also, I was able to purchase replacement bowls for both models.

I just purchased several of these Vidalia Chop Wizards as Christmas gifts. I could not live without this product. I keep it in my center island kitchen cart drawer where I do all my prep work, to dice and chop onions, peppers, garlic, mushrooms, celery, tomatoes, carrots, cabbage and potatoes; for soups, salads, omelets, stir fry, and salsas. I even use it for making mashed potatoes.I run my raw potatoes through the dicer and boil in water, the small size cuts makes the potatoes cook faster and mash easier. I also take precooked (baked) potatoes and run thru the machine for easy and quick home fries. The smaller grid blade is great for garlic, herbs and nuts. I chop my celery for quick tuna/ egg or chicken salads as well. It is a MUST for TACO and FAJITA fixins: Just place a wedge of iceberg lettuce on it, tomatoes, Black olives, onions, jalopenoes and add to your Mexican dishes. I just bought the Vidalia Slice It gadget, which slices veggies thin and thick, and makes wedges: that is also spectalular!

I got my vidalia chopper at a rummage sale. I had seen the commercials on tv and decided to try it out. I really love it. The only thing I would change on it is that it is sometimes hard to clean the top between the seams. I have to use a knife or some other tool to clean between the seams on the top. Other than that it is a very great tool!

This is the second time I have broken the posts where the top attaches to the base. I try to slice onions really thin and be careful but this thing is just to fragile for me. I called the customer service number for replacement parts and they were not very friendly and charged 6 bucks for the base and 4 bucks to ship it. Why can't they make this thing more durable?? I would pay more if it was not so fragile. It is really great for salads. WOW.

My husband and I bought this product from a local store, and we absolutely love it! It really cuts the time of chopping veggies, we make our own salsa and by using the Chop Wizard we are done in less than 10 minutes! The reason I give it four stars instead of five are: 1) It isn't as sturdy as it could be; if you slam on the top too hard the hinges can snap and break. We have done this twice over the past year; however the store we bought it from always exchanges it for a new one free of charge, so we don't lose money. And 2) You still have to chop up veggies into two or three small pieces, a medium size veggie (or larger) doesn't tend to fit in the chopper. However, this step takes, what, thirty seconds? This product is wonderful for what it does, I highly recommend it!

The vidalia chop wizard is awesome. It works best when you precut items fairly thin. It is a little loud when you press down because it tells you to press down fast, but this is to make sure it chops everything well. I just made some salsa today and cut cucumbers, tomatoes and red onions. I do wish the hinges where made of something more durable. I haven't had mine break, but I am always careful with it because it seems like it could break fairly easy. Other than that, it's a great product and I'm very happy with it!

I had used many choppers before using Vidalia Chop Wizard but none of those worked. Vidalia was just wonderful. The first time I used it I had to Make salsa for 100 people. I chopped all the veggies in 10 minutes. One of the hinges broke on my chopper as well. This is a great tool, I just wish it was sturdier. I would even pay more for it if it was stronger.

My mom bought this for me as a present and is loathe to give it up when I move out. It does a really good job on chopping veggies (something I do a lot) and cleans up easily! Compared to the Quick Chop I used to use this little gadget works great. The only thing I can complain about is sometimes I need a little extra oomph to get all the way through thick onions or such. I need to get one for my mom after I move out or she'll never forgive me.

Love it! I use this product to chop onions, peppers, carrots, apples, etc. Every time I decide put it to the test w/a new item it performs. I've put this in the dishwasher (top rack) every time I use it and it comes through w/o problem. Negatives: don't put onion (or any veggie) skin side down or it is very hard to chop, can be a little tough to clean the blade, sometimes slightly hard to open after you chop something; I think the veggies must make the blade stick to the piece that pushes them through.

I will not live without this product again!!! My first one lasted about a year until I tried to chopped pieces that I knew were too large to go through at one time. (Attachment ear broke off.) I whined enough about not having it around anymore that my husband/daughter repurchased one for me at Christmas. I use it many times per week. I really like using it to freeze the peppers, onions, and celery that would otherwise go to waste. If you don't have this chopper, you're missing out!!!

I just found this ratings site today after hubby bought this I wanted to see before I opened the pack.1st I cant see why it wouldnt work even if the hinges did break(as I seen in some reviews)it would still fit together to chop and it chopped wonderfully for me today new.I cut an onion in half it took 2 chops for the entire thing.Nothing we have has been faster.I can see how mushy items may get stuck possibly but...blah...push them out they will still be cut up... for the price its great..

The hinges break easily. One of the hinges broke one day after the purchase. The second hinge broke within 3 months. Now we cannot use it.

I got this for Christmas and I love, love, love it! I was hesitant to get one but then I found out our high school cafeteria uses them regularly. I use mine at least 2-3 times a week with no problems. It has held up and no parts have broken. I think how you hit the top of it might affect how it holds up. I use the palm of my hand to push it directly over the onion or whatever I am cutting. I highly recommend this product for ease of use, convenience and how quickly you can chop with it.

I tend to stray away from a few main courses because of the chopping/dicing. I tell you I absolutely love my Chop Wizard. It saves me so much time in the kitchen. Sometimes I will have one of my kids "dice" the vegetables while I'm doing something else and they love helping now. I will admit, you sometimes have to put some elbow into it and you have to clean the grid before putting it in the dishwasher, but it has never failed me.

Ι bought ιτ a week ago. I find it very useful tool that escapes your time. A minor problem only with fruits or vegetables that are very Juicy. I recommend it certainly

I purchased this product about a year ago and have used it many times. The first time used, I did find it hard to press vegetables with skin intact. Resloved this by placing the skin side on the blade. Product came with a cleaning tool for the grooves inside the press. A quick rinse then into the dishwasher and it is clean. Good, time saving product.

I've used this product and instantly was impressed. The chopper does everything it was advertised to do. After using it for about a year the ear/hinge broke off on the bottom unit. It would be great to be able to buy replacement parts instead of buying a whole new unit.

I was skeptical before I bought it but was hooked after trying once. It basically dices and makes two sizes, big and small. Works great on onioms , peppers, potatoes, carrots, even nuts. clean up takes a little more effort but the time saved on chopping stuff is worth it. I have purchased two more for
