I ordered the Tobi in July 2007. My credit card was charged July 19th. However, I only ordered 1 Tobi. My electronic receipt did not mention a total amount nor quantity purchased, so I did not realize that the company billed me for two Tobis until they were delivered to my house. When I explained the problem to customer service in August 2007, they were argumentative and kept insisting that I ordered two Tobis. I had an eyewitness watch me purchase the Tobi and we both confirmed that I only ordered one Tobi and hit the submit button once. However, by the end of the conversation, they agreed to send me a label to return the second Tobi. I also wanted to return the first Tobi, as the product does not steam as it appears on TV. It takes less time to use an iron than to use the Tobi. In addition, the tall handle is made of a flimsy plastic material which does not stabilized the Tobi at all. To summarize it took a month for me to receive the return label for the extra Tobi the company delivered to me. I sent back both Tobis at the same time in September and I had to pay for shipping for the first Tobi; I tracked the one of the Tobi packages. (couldn’t track the second Tobi, since I was using their tracking label.) I called them in October to inquire about my Tobi return, after we confirmed the total amount which was due to me. I only received a partial refund a week after my phone call. I’m missing over $100 in refund money. I’m calling today to inquire about the status of the return. This is ridiculous and is a perfect example of the fleecing of America. I can't believe I had to pay taxes on this product!

Tobi is perfect on wool and cotton jumpers, trousers etc. It removes odors and the clothes smell fresh afterwards. I often hang jumpers on hangers after washing them, which of course is no good for the shape. The "bumps" on the shoulders disappear when I use the Tobi. My boyfriend wasn´t too happy when I bought it. He said it would probably be a waste of money. But I showed him how to do it and now he uses it on his suits and ties etc. I also used it on my evening gown on new year´s eve. Perfect! And I´ve used it on the mattress. The more I use it, the better the results get as I learn new teqniques. What is not so good is that the cord is a bit too short and that it sometimes spill water when I use the shoulder strap (when doing the curtains). You may burn yourself on the steam, but I´ve burned myself on irons more often. It´s not perfect on shirts as it´s difficult to do the collar and sleeves. But my conclusion is that it´s worth the money and I´m happy with my purchase.

I ordered 1 and they shipped 2. I chose the $29.95 payment and yet they billed me for $289.13 right away. I returned the products, showed they received it on 12-31-07, called C/S many times, you will be placed on hold for 10 minutes, no answer. it is January 8, 2008, my account still not creditted. Don't buy this product, not only does it suck, but you will get no answer from either of these numbers: 800 554-6051 or 323 938-9792

I just got my Tobi, inspite of the negative reviews. I thought, I will try it anyway. I have been dealing of iron deadline not being met. And I hate wearing clothes with wrinkles. I would suggest to read the manual, before the setup. I never had a problem when I first turn it on. I could staret steaming right away. I was able to finish about 20 shirts with collar. I have these shirts sitting in the bucket for months. The first 2 shirts, I was a bit of a challenge, but after you get hte feel of it. It works fine and I love it.

I received one of these as a Christmas present and I can only say that this product does not work as advertised, very cheaply made, and the infomercial is not truthful. I have experience using home/commercial steamers and this product is junk. Spend a little more and get yourself something that is a higher quality. Also... trying to do a return is unbelievable... they want to deduct twice the going shipping rate from your purchase and you have to pay return shipping on top of it. Unbelieveable.

I am returning this product as soon as I can. I ordered one Tobi Steamer but received two. When I contacted customer service I was offered a discount on the second one of $30 off if I kept it. I refused the deal and call back later to findout more about shipping details and was then offered another discount of $39.95 off the second one to keep it. I also refused that offer. I mainly ordered the product to iron dress shirts but was very disappointed with it. I tried it on 2 shirts which had been previously sent to the dry cleaners but was somewhat rinkled. I was extremely disappointed in the results. My wife also tried using it. The Tobi is somewhat clumsy to use with the stand and requires any tall person to bend over to use it. I found it more difficult to use than a regular iron. Also, speaking to someone in customer service requires major waiting periods.

I bought and tried it. They sent me 2 and I only ordered one. They charged me for 2. When I called to send it back, I got a person that barely spoke English and they were rude. It was returned over 7 weeks ago and still no refund. I try calling but I am on hold for over 20 minutes before I finally hang up. I can't afford the cell time. I don't feel like it worked well at all.

The product is OK, not spectacular by any means. I still need to use my iron for creases and things that won't steam. Worst part is I tried to order an accessory online and they sent me a whole new steamer and charged me for it. I was told by their customer service that they would send me pre-paid shipping labels on 3 separate occasions, which I never got. I finally called a fourth time and they told me I had to pay to return it because you can't just buy the accessories online without unknowingly buying another Tobi. BEWARE...... make sure you want it before you buy it.

I am so dissapointed in this product. I am not one to fall victim to infomercial gimicks, but this product really seemed like it could work out. I was very excited because I detest ironing. When I recieved the Tobi, there were small cracks all up and down the black steam tube that connects to the steamer head. I did try turning it on, but steam started to spew out of the black cloth cover on the tube. OUCH! Thankfully, I was smart enough to purchase a three year warranty (I thought I was smart anyway). The warranty turned out to be another scam. I called the customer service number that was in the box and after 40 MINUTES I finally got to talk to someone named "Sunji". (My heart sank). I was told that I could return the Tobi, at my own expense, and a new product would be sent to me within 5-6 WEEKS!!! (My heart sank further). I refused to accept this answer as I hadn't even got to use the dang thing, it came broken right out of the box!!! So, I asked for a supervisor, was placed on hold, and then another 40 minutes later was hung up on. I called back (FURIOUS) and had to wait another 20 minutes until I got to talk to someone. I asked to speak to "Sunji" (gave them the extension #, which I had asked for before being placed on hold for a supervisor) and was told that that extension did not exist. (heart is on the floor) SOOOO, I proceeded to explain my situation again to "David" and was placed on hold for a supervisor. I'll give you one guess what happened. WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, YOU WILL BE $120.00 POORER AND STILL WITH WRINKLES I have now returned the product and will only recieve about half the purchase price back >:-<

I am thrilled with the Tobi! It does get out the wrinkles, but it is a bit hard to get a perfect crease. If I really need a crisp crease I will use an iron, but that is not very often. What I love the best is how it perks up my old, tired sweaters and knit tops. The Tobi not only got the wrinkles out, but also helped bring back the shape, softness and life to sweaters that have seen better days. It is also great for refreshing clothes, coats and more. As you use it, the process gets easier. I am so happy I purchased this item.

I really appreciate my Tobi. I hate ironing and this allows me to do all my clothes straight from the laundry mat. It is not like the commerical says "one pass-no wrinkles." If you pull tight and pass the steamer twice you will have no wrinkles and a nice crease. CAUTION, when doing creases on sleeves do not burn yourself it is easy to do.

$180 was really too much for this product. Even with expedited shipping, I didn't get my product for at least three weeks. The first day, I tried it on two jackets, one of which was truly dryclean only. I had to use my small ironing table because the steam hanger wobbled so much. It did freshen the jackets to the point that I was able to wear one the next day, but it took several passes and at least ten minutes to get that result. I would say it was worth it for the dryclean only jacket. As for my other regular work clothes like pants, tank tops, etc, it works really well for tanks because you just need to get basic wrinkles out of soft fabric, and your body stretches / fills out the tank, anyway. The pants, not so easy. I used to hold it at the cuff and try to start from the top like the infomercial, but now I find that I have to hold it like a foot away from where I'm applying the steamer, and use it much like an iron (back and forth, back and forth over all the wrinkles) to get good results. And then of course you can't do the cuff without risking getting burnt. I experience the same with button down sweaters that tend to curl up at the bottom. Trust me, I have the dime-sized scar on my forearm which I do hope goes away!! *sniff* What I do like about it for pants in the Winter is that it gets the fabric really soft and warm, of course, so I just feel really princess-like having this soft fabric against my legs. (Of course, when winter *really* kicks in, I'll have to wear thermals so that'll be moot!)I just don't always feel really sharp because it doesn't get those corners looking perfect. I think I will get the ironing board and lay it sideways like someone else suggested. If there is one truly fatal flaw in this product it is just how much the clothing wobbles. I am not straightening clothes 5 times as fast which is the biggest disappointment. This was their promise and the product did not deliver. I wanted help getting ready for work quickly by saving ironing time which wasn't that long, to begin with, and this hasn't really helped. Strangely enough, though, I would not return to my iron if I can help it and want this product to work. The hose does start off stiff but relaxes when steam flows through for about five mins. It does work before getting flexible, though. They did mention in my manual to keep the hose vertical as much as possible, and also that the steam will not always be flowing / gurgling, but the product is working. I find this to be true. Less expensive, and more stable ironing base would make this truly a great product. I am not happy to buy more items to support this already expensive product, though!

I was sceptacle to buy the Tobi just because it was something from an infomercial, but I went ahead and bought it and boy am I glad I did! I hate to iron so this is perfect for me. It doesn't do creases or make material totally flat like an iron, but it does get the wrinkles out and that's all I cared to do. So if you want that perfectly pressed look then this product probably isn't for you. But if you are just wanting to get the wrinkles out, then this is perfect and much better than ironing! I do want to warn you though (as it warns you on the Tobi when you get it) to watch out for your fingers cause that steam is HOT. Also, like anything new that you've never tried before, it does take some time getting used to.

I saw this product on TV and I absolutely hate to iron. I thought it would be perfect because I have to wear business dress every day for my job. I had some trouble initially putting the equipment together but once I got everything together it works like a charm. (Thank heavens for instruction manuals! I’d highly recommend to anyone purchasing this product to read the manual before you get it set up and before you start using it. It helps a lot and can help make sure you set up and use it correctly.) I’m very pleased with the results and the product is easy to use. Once I got everything set up, I haven’t had any trouble with using it. The steam works really well to get out the wrinkles in my clothes, especially on my lighter weight materials like silk and some rayon. I’m very pleased with this product and would order it again!

I was lured into purchasing the TOBI after watching the infomercial. I was specifically interested in using it on curtains and to refresh my bedding, etc. I followed all instructions and I did get the steam to flow, but by the time I got to the bottom of one curtain panel, the top of the panel had started to wrinkle again. I also had no success using TOBI to "refresh" my bedding - in fact, rather than remove odors it seemed to bake them right in. As other reviewers have noted, the product is is made of cheap materials, the stand is dangerously unstable, and the lack of safety features can lead to some painful steam burns. Another reviewer mentioned that this product is not UL listed and that alone would have prevented me from purchasing it had I known. I sold my TOBI at a garage sale for $10 just to be rid of it. I've had better results from [] - available at most [] stores for about $4.

I purchased this from the infomercial a while back. I have used it numerous times trying to get the hang of it. In the past I had used a commercial/professional garment steamer and it was a breeze! This unit doesn't even come CLOSE to working the way they showed it in their infomercials. Obvious trick photography at work when showing all the wrinkles just falling out after one swipe! TOTAL BALONEY! Save your money and buy a professional garment steamer! This Tobi is a complete waste of money!

I had ordered my Tobi Nov 17th and just rec'd it on Sat Dec 1st. Easy to put together. (Not much to it). I was very nervous about my order after reading half the reviews. But all turned out good, billing was correct, and rec'd what I ordered. I used the Tobi for 2 days now and havent had any problems. Just takes time to get a system down on holding the fabric and working with the unit. The only dislikes I have so far are the little wet marks that i get from steaming, It does go away in a couple of min,and the booklet did mention this will happen. But just get nervous it will leave water spots on more delicate fabrics like silk etc. Also if i would have seen this steamer in the store I would have not paid 120 for it.. Maybe 60.. I thought it was bigger and wider then what it looks like on TV. It does do a nice job on all the stuff i have steamed so far which is dressshirts,T-Shirts tablecloths, my sewing fabric, my hubbys uniforms. I will hold on to my iron so I can still get that crisp look for collars, sleeves, and around buttons. Also wish it did come with a higher more sturdy hanger. But, I find that steaming againest my ironing boards works fine. I hope down the road I will able to get replacements parts for it when I need to.. like the water tank seals.. Over time Im sure they will wear from use and steaming.. Sorry to hear about all the people that didnt get what they wanted. but reading the manual and watching the DVD was helpful and answered my questions regarding the wet spots. leaking from the condensation.etc.. I do see that the company did do upgrades on the unit, (which i rec'd). Handle and hose. Mine do NOT get super hot like other people has mentioned. which is great cause i also have little kids.. Will check back in a month to give update on my steamer and how it is still working.. Bye for now. Have a Happy Holiday Season..

The steamer did not work as it did on the infomercials, but eased some of the wrinkles. I did not use the travel version until I went on a trip and then opened the plastic bag that it came in to find out that it did not work at all. Could not return it because I didn't go on a trip within 30 days of purchase.

I really wish I had found this site BEFORE I purchased the Tobi. The infomercials looked wonderful! Quick, simple, no more ironing. I got my Tobi home and put it together excitedly. I couldn't wait to start getting rid of my clothing wrinkles ASAP. After the first shirt kept swaying out of the way, and I burned myself repeatedly trying to keep it still enough to get the Tobi to make enough contact to actually remove the wrinkles, my excitement began to wane. I didn't want to give up, I thought perhaps I just needed a bit more practice. After 3 more button-down shirts, a skirt, a pair of slacks and a T-shirt (and really sore hands due to burns) I feel confident in calling this product a major rip-off! What's even more depressing is that the shipping and handling for it cost so much that even when I return it I'll only be getting half of my money back. The next time an infomercial comes on the TV, I'll be changing the channel, FAST!
