Best product I own under $40.

3/15/2008 - Ray of Texas, United States writes:

I live in a 4 bed 2,1/2 bath house.Sweeping and mopping are honestly a living hell.I bought this in mid August at a store. Its case/package, was real nice and eyecatching.I had known about it for almost two years just never believed it.I followed its charging instructions and charged for over 8 hours.Worked fine the first time and still runs great.Only thing about it but really is nothing when you get used to it is cleaning underneath it and getting all the hairs or whatever gets trapped in swivels.Cleaning its gliders makes it glide easier.I really recommend it as long as you read the intructions, and clean and maintain it.Good Luck

HORRIBLE

3/8/2008 - Jamie of North Carolina, USA writes:

Having a bad back I thought the idea of a cordless, light weight vacuum was wonderful.... when I called to order it of course they wanted to sell me extra sliders, batteries, etc., etc. Stupid me... I bought every bit of it, spending almost $100.00 I tried it as soon as it arrived and was at first pleased with it, but as someone else said, the very next day the battery died quickly and in just a few days did not work at all. I called to complain, and after 20 minutes of holding I hung up. Trying again in a few days the same thing happend. Finally on the 3rd try I got a person They said it was the pole and sent a new one. By the time it arrived I had tried the "FREE" one and had the same experience with it. So I tried the new pole on each vaccuum. None of it worked. By the time I found time to sit on the phone forever to discuss all of this with a person, they said it has been too long since you ordered the product to get a refund. They said they would send me a new part (the part with the rollers and motor). They did send it and when it arrived the cover was broken. I am exhausted with dealing with them, but would love to send the whole rotten mess back just so that they can see that NONE of it works. What crooks!!!

4

2/29/2008 - Paul of Brussels, Belgium writes:

I bought 4 of them, three were broken (mechanical parts) after less than 1 month. Batteries (I have 4 of them) last 1 minute and then die. It could have been a good tool, but this so poor manufacturing, you will throw your money out the window if you buy it. I cannot believe some people rate it honnestly good except if they rated it during the first week of use.

Swivel Sweeper is great for college dorm rooms!

2/24/2008 - Sariah of Washington DC, USA writes:

It is an amazing product. I live on campus and as alot of people know, college dorm rooms are not that big. A big bulky vacuum would have NOT worked. I got the swivel sweeper as a gift. I hadn't used it until the 2nd week. My roommate spilled coffee grounds on the floor, it picked it up in an instant. The only problem is that the bristles got dirty because I tried it on my dirty shag carpet by my bed, there was a tool that came with it, that I cannot find, but I know it's in my room. Parents if you have a child in college, or who is moving into their first apartment or anything...GET THIS FOR THEM. If you're living area isn't big enough for a big bulky vacuum, get this.

Not worth it!

2/16/2008 - Jackie of California, USA writes:

Ordered this this mop due to a back condition, light weight, etc. Guaranteed or money back, no cost to try it--Wrong! I moped 5' of floor twice, on the third occasion it produced no steam. Returned and told S&H would not be refunded despite infomercial claim. Product is not worth $20.

Good idea...

2/5/2008 - Erin of Auckland, New Zealand writes:

I bought one of these cheap from an importer, not expecting miracles as I know its just a sweeper not a vacuum. I intended to only use it for quick cleanups up in between vacuuming. At first I was thrilled with it, it works really well on tiles, and picking up cat fluff and all the crumbs, glitter, and everything else my 4 year old leaves all over the house. The first time I used it the battery just kept going and going, and to my surprise it actually kept going while I went over the entire house! I was giving it a good workout, as I always do with a new toy ;-) HOWEVER within a week or so the battery lost its mojo, and after a while it could barely even last long enough to get around one room. My only other gripe is nothing to do with the product, but a warning for others with longer hair. My hair is only medium long, and as this is a 'sweeper' not a vacuum, all the long hair that it picked up just got wrapped around the brushes and caused it to jam (which may have contributed to the battery wearing out so fast) so I was having to constantly open it up and clean it out about every 30 seconds... I may as well have just vacuumed, for all the time I spent untangling and cutting all my hair strands from the brushes! So, my recommendation is: Excellent for quick clean ups of pet hair and crumbs, but if you have a long haired person in the house give it a miss, it's easier to just get the vacuum cleaner out and suck it up! I gave mine to my mother in law, she has a short haircut :-)

Love it!!!

2/2/2008 - Katia of Quebec, Canada writes:

I love my swivel sweeper! Of course it will not replace your original vaccum cleaner, but it will able you to pick up everyday messes. I use it primarily to pick up what my cat kicks out of the litter box and I love it more and more every time. Very light weight and very versitile! It works way better on hard wood and tile flooring than on carpets, but still does a good job! I recommend it!!

Great on floors!

1/26/2008 - George of Tennessee, USA writes:

We bought two and love them! Our dog sheds hair all over our hardwood floors and these little guys sweep up stuff in all four directions. I wish the batteries lasted a little longer and the dust tray were bigger, but it's a trade-off for size and weight. [] Try a vacuum! This is, after all, a sweeper! For hard flooring, we think it's great and have no regrets. They're clever products and wonderful for quick pick-ups and spills. We got 2 [] for $49 shipped and highly recommend them... for FLOORS. And no, we don't work for the company LOL

Works great for me

1/23/2008 - Carol of California, USA writes:

I use the swivel sweeper mostly for tile and hardwood floors. I have 3 cats, and it picks up stray kitty litter par excellence. I use it for a quick pick up in between vacuuming with the Oreck. It does what it was designed to do in my opinion. I bought a second one and keep one on each level of my two story house.

cordless swivel sweeoer

1/19/2008 - Alan of England, UK writes:

After buying this product decided 7&half volts not man enough + the 6x1300ma AA batteries in series not holding charge, bought new 6x 2800ma AA batteries plus soldered an extra AAA smaller size bringing the voltage to about 9& half, they are in series, it now goes like a turbo charged machine, with the 1300ma batteries there is a voltage drop way below the 7& half volts required

short life battery

1/15/2008 - Paul of Wisconsin, USA writes:

When I first used used this product I was happy with it how it worked. No it's not as good as they show on TV,but for the price and ease of use I was happy with it. Problem is that after only A month the battery could not hold a charge.

Take It From A Skeptic - It's A Good Product

1/15/2008 - Todd of New Jersey, USA writes:

Being a born skeptic of anything that's hawked on television, I was reluctant to try the Swivel Sweeper. But my wife kept telling em we should buy it so I caved (actually, I waited until the product was sold in stores). As with most things, my wife made the right call. We've had our Swivel Sweeper for a year now and have had no problems at all. The battery works fine (just needs to be recharged from time to time), it picks up with no problems on both carpet and hardwood (we have both in our house), and my 6 year-old LOVES to sweep with it. The holding cup is a little small, but it's really easy to empty and put back -- it takes about 5 seconds. It cleans well along walls and is great for tight spaces. I highly recommend it.

VERY picky & love Swivel Sweeper

1/6/2008 - Casey of Illinois, USA writes:

This is one of the best products I have ever purchased! In fact, I have never before bothered to write a review for anything, but since purchasing this, three of my closest friends have bought them as well. Here are the pros: 1) Great for a quick pick-up when you're expecting last-minute guests or have had minor spills (crackers in the carpet, crumbs on the tile, etc) 2) Does a good job of cleaning along edges of cabinetry. My Shark can only get about 2 inches from the cabinets, but the swivel sweeper has brushes designed to sweep debris along the cabinet/wall into the unit itself. 3) Works great on tile, but not quite as well on hardwood. Does well on carpet also 4) Gets behind toilets!!! It's very light, so can be taken anywhere in the house CONS (some have mentioned): 1) The dirt collector is too small. I agree it's not huge, but it's easy to empty. If it gets full too quickly, you need to clean your floors more often! 2) Brushes get clogged. Really? Clean them out! If you have hairy pets (which I do not), this may not be the best option for you according to some other reviewers. I have cleaned out my brushes a few times, and it continues to work like a dream! 3) Battery dies. My battery works just fine, and as with any product, I imagine there are sometimes that a bad battery comes with the product. I have had no problem with it, and it will last for a solid 40 minutes or so before it needs charged. The only reason I know this is because I have a 2 and 3 year old who both love to vacuum with it. What A DREAM COME TRUE---a toy that cleans!!! Ovbiously, I love it! It's the best thing ever for picking up lifes little everyday messes. It's no miracle worker, but it sure makes my life a lot easier!

Very BAD product

1/5/2008 - Jamie of Maine, USA writes:

My own personal experience was that this product is junk, when they show on tv that it cleans everything its a lie. This Swivel Sweeper may be light to hold, but its because its not put together very strong, and doesn't pick up anything. If i had ALL day to keep going back and forth over the carpet it still wouldn't clean my carpet. Also this product has no power so it doesn't pick up dirt in the carpet. This is a VERY bad product. Don't believe what you see on TV, the people that say this product is GOOD, they must work for this company because it seems to me their being paid to lie. Because it doesn't even work close to good like they say on tv i wont EVER buy anything off "as seen on tv"

Two year follow up – still going

1/1/2008 - Carolyn of California, USA writes:

UPDATE: I originally reviewed this sweeper in 2005 and felt that I should do a follow up report. I have used the same sweeper every day since then, for about 10+ minutes each day. I am still using the original battery which I recharge every week and a half to two weeks. My original evaluation still stands; it does what it was designed to do, spot clean. We have two parrots and two small, short hair dogs that shed a lot and we have mostly hardwood floors. Every day I clean the seeds from around the birds and under the sofa they are next to. Then sweep two flat, tight weave area rugs and across the sofa cushions for dog hair then quickly through two tiled bathrooms. I have already stated this is a spot cleaner so here is what it is not and does not: It is not a “whole house” cleaner; it is not a replacement for your regular vacuum. It is not a carpet cleaner; it is designed to work on hard surfaces. Carpet nap will bind the brushes causing motor damage. It does not pick up dust, it has no suction, it was not designed to pick up dust. Long hair will wrap around the brushes but to be fair, long hair wraps around the brush of any vacuum. These brushes are smaller and driven by a battery powered motor. You need to remove any trapped long hair before it becomes a problem. If you wait until the hair binds the brushes it’s not the sweepers fault. As far as battery life goes all I can say is mine is still working after two years. My husband says that some rechargeable batteries have a memory, that you must charge them fully before the first use. He said that if you charge them partly, then use them, they will remember that partial charge as being a full charge and stop there all the time. I guess that may be true because mine still runs a long time. In my original review I gave this sweeper 4 stars because of the flimsy handle. After two years my handle did snap in half, at the connection point. My husband took it to his workshop in the garage and fixed it. He says that the handle should have been designed so that one metal tube slid inside of the other, not with a plastic screw for joining them. Because of the weak handle I am again giving 4 stars. The Swivel Sweeper does what it was designed to and if this one fails I will buy another one right away.

its Ok

12/31/2007 - Rosa of California, USA writes:

I like this product for easy and fast clean ups. I just got it 2 weeks ago and so far it is working great, it does not replace a vacuum cleaner, It is good on hard floors only. It does not vacuum carpets very good. For someone who has back problems this is a good electric sweeper just clean it after every use and hopefully it will last. I use it almost everyday. This product is only good for someone who has mostly hard floor, do not buy it for your carpet it will be a waste.

Perfect with small kids and pets!

12/31/2007 - Melissa of Ohio, USA writes:

I usually laugh at Infomercials. Some of the products are just so pointless and they make the most outrageous claims, so I usually turn the channel as soon as they start or watch them and laugh hysterically. One night, however, when I couldn't find the remote and was too tired to get up and look for it (LOL), this infomercial came on. We have two small children and two white chihuahuas, so there's always some sort of small mess to clean up. If it DID work, this would be a godsend! So, as impatient as I am, I went to a retail store to buy it, paying almost twice as much. The first time I tried it, I could not BELIEVE how much stuff was in that little tray. Also, it's SO easy to maneuver. I played with it for a good ten minutes before putting it away. I cleaned things I usually avoid because it was so easy! It sweeps up cereal (my vacuum won't even do that!), dog hair, it even sweeps up change! Since the tray is easy to empty, I put a quarter and a nickel on the floor and it picked them right up! Because this picks up dog hair, I've even used it on my furniture! LOL I do have one minor warning about using this. When transitioning from a smooth tile or vinyl floor to carpeting, be careful the unit doesn't flip over! I've done this twice and it starts spewing everything out of the tray. Eww. Otherwise, this sweeper is just wonderful. You do have to charge it for a few hours every other day and clean it once in a while, but it's super easy to clean and well worth the 5 minutes.

Beware your hardwood floors!

12/16/2007 - Robin of California, USA writes:

I thought the product worked ok for small pick up jobs but was shocked when I saw the sunlight reflected on my hardwood floor! Hairlike scratches in swirled patterns just like the motion that works best on this product. This sweeper drags plastic across your floors and has no rubber protective wheels. Big mistake. Also forget using this if you have dog hair-to much upkeep and power loss.

Sooo disappointed

12/14/2007 - Bea of California, USA writes:

My home has mostly tile flooring, so I decided to try this product. I purchased the Swivel Sweeper from a retail store; I charged the battery for at least 8 hours as recommended (actually overnight), and used it the next day. It hardly picked up anything, mostly just pushed things around. I put it away, and when I tried to use it again a few days later, it died after about 2 minutes. I had used it for less than 10 minutes total on a "full" charge, and the battery died. Fortunately, since I purchased it from a retail store, I was able to get all my money back.

Love it

12/8/2007 - Jane of New York, USA writes:

We have a place in Florida with a 360 square foot ceramic tile floor room. Sweeping that with a broom is a real pain. Every time you come in little bits of grass, dirt, and bugs get tracked in. The Swivel Sweeper is great to run every day and every time we see little bits of stuff on the floor. It's light and fun to use, and zip, zip, zip, the place looks great! I don't think it's meant to replace your vacuum, but I love it for giving hard floors a quick cleaning. I'm going to buy one for my house up north and for a friend with hardwood floors.
