The sweeper worked great for the first 4 months. I used it on carpets and tile floors. My problem was with the battery not holding charge, but when I measured the dc output voltage from its terminals I did get 7.6Vdc after it was stopped. Then I decided to unscrew all the hardware from the sweeper head piece by piece and found a bunch of hair and debris around the rotor and stators. It worked great after that.

my review

11/15/2008 - elaine of pa, usa writes:

I bought this sweeper because it looked so easy to use and was convenient. I was disappointed when I began to use it. It didn't pick up, it just pushed it along. The commercial was very misleading. Not a happer user.

Battery Failure

11/13/2008 - Jan of Florida, USA writes:

The first couple of months, I was pleased with its performance, but now there is battery failure. I can only use it for 5 minutes and it goes dead. Don't waste your money just get a good vacuum.

Worthless!

11/11/2008 - Cary of NC, US writes:

I personally would rather just use my broom. If you have a 1/2 a broom, it will be faster than this. It seems to just spread the things around on the floor instead of picking them up. Oh, it will pick it up after you run it across it 4-5 times. I tried to sweep a kitchen rug, which is very tight knit and the thing stalled quick, making it impossible to sweep the rug. I would not waste this money again.

8 minute battery after 2 months use

10/26/2008 - Rhonda of nc, us writes:

I have bought 2 sweepers now and after about 2 months the battery (with full charge)only last about 8 minutes on wood flooring. This product is GREAT at first but hey at 30 bucks a wack, its not worth it. I wonder if some of the good reviews on the product are from people who dont use it for anything more than something small off the floor (useing it for very short times) and thats why they are happy. When i used mine, i used it until the battery was done and then i put it back on charge. I'd say that if you only want it for quickies it may last for a year. Otherwise, it isn't worth the money.

Not built to last, if only:(

10/25/2008 - james of ohio, us writes:

I like this product however it is somewhat weak in construction. The charger base should have a cut off sensor to prevent over charging, which kills the life of the battery. And the main drive gear is plastic,( and not a hard plastic). The gear has striped out in one of my units, and it can not be eplaced. So the whole unit is no good:( Not cool!!!

Swivel Sweeper - Poor Reliability

10/14/2008 - Paul of Michigan, USA writes:

The Swivel Sweeper (SS) batteries are terrible. They will quickly go bad. Ours were bad from day one. SS will not replace them if you purchased the unit from a retail store, they will try to sell you a new battery even within the 90 day warranty. Web searches on the batteries show even new batteries fail. We get maybe 5 minutes on a full charge, even when new! Do not buy this product, and SS has poor customer service. Do not give then as gifts, as you will not have friends.

Not worth it.

10/12/2008 - Richard Natoli-Rombach of Rochester, United States writes:

It worked ok when it was still working but the rechargable battery did not last long and now it sits useless. Considering the price the battery should have lasted longer. In contrast my little [] rechargeable vac has two rechargeable battery packs and has been working forever.

Not sure what to think...

10/8/2008 - Glenda of KS, USA writes:

My hubby purchase this as a gift for me recently as I have a difficult time moving the vaccuum cleaner around. I tried it out & it was light & easy to move. It seemed to pick up pretty good, until a bigger piece of paper got caught in it. It pretty much spewed out all of the contents that had been picked up. I then left it propped up against the wall while I went to check on something. My son accidentally knocked it over & the handle snapped in half. I think the plastic pieces used to screw it together are too brittle. I attempted to put it back together with gorilla glue, but that didn't work out too well. There wasn't really any way to hold it together since the inside of the pole is hollow. If I could get it fixed without it costing a fortune, I think I'd use it quite a bit.

A poor purchase

10/1/2008 - Phyllis of NY, USA writes:

I have had my swivel sweeper a little over 2 months and the battery has not stayed charged since the first day. Upon calling the company they would replace the battery charger for $9.95 and not charge for the shipping. It's not worth it! The handle is also very flimsy. A piece of junk! Don't bother spending the money.

Piece of junk

9/21/2008 - Qidong of CA, USA writes:

Lack of power - it took 3 or 4 sweeps to pick up everything on the floor. Takes long time to charge, but only last 15 minutes. After 10 times, the battery no longer charged. Lousy quality. I threw it in the trash can last week. My vacuum cleaner does a much better job. It may be heavier, but most vacuum cleaners have wheel, it's not that bad push it on carpet or hardwood floor. I suggest invest more on a decent vacuum clean instead of wasting money on this piece of junk. Don't trust what you see on TV commericals.

Big Waste of Money

9/20/2008 - Sami Smith of Oregon, united states writes:

The product is a waste of money. The battery will not hold a charge and will not let you charge it. I was very disappointed and would not recommend it.

no props for swivel sweeper

9/19/2008 - mary of mi, usa writes:

I loved this product for the first few months. I have little kids and it was easy to clean up after them with the sweeper rather than a broom or vacuum. Cleaning it is not as easy and it stopped working after a year. You conveniently have a three month warranty after purchase. After that your on your own. Very disappointed would not recommend.

Not reliable

9/11/2008 - Dennis of NY, USA writes:

The product does an acceptable job for a few minutes. It does sweep dirt off carpets and bare floors (though, for bare floors a plain broom is still as good). It does well on rough surfaces where a broom might not do as well. I did not expect it to do deep cleaning or to have suction, since it is a carpet sweeper and not a vacuum cleaner. However, the product has more than its share of problems. The worst is that it will stall easily. I use it on moderately deep carpets, and it will work for about a minute ot two before it cuts off. I have to turn it off and wait a few minutes, and it will work another minute or so. This rules out any major cleaning projects. Additionally, it will clog on certain carpets. That will snag the brushes, and could lead to stalling. You then have to disassemble the unit, untangle it (and if you have allergies, that could be a sneezy affair) and then start it again. I suggest getting a plain carpet sweeper. No batteries to charge. And they are more reliable. True, you will not get behind things as well. But if the motor keeps quitting, you will not get behind anything with this, either.

Don't Bother

9/10/2008 - Saunda Bentley of Florida, USA writes:

Sweeper worked for about a week. Then, it kept stopping. It seems that human hair clogged it. Now, even after a battery charge, it keeps stopping even when not clogged by hair.

LOVE IT

9/3/2008 - Tanya of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

I have had this product for about 3 months now and love it. I use it on laminate floors, carpeting, and tile. I don't recommend it for a Berber or long shag carpets - it gets easily tangled and stops. I particularly like it for sweeping the stairs and kitchen floors. I have two dogs, and three children, so we use it daily. My kids love to use it too - it is not heavy like a vacuum. Also, a great plus is it can easily reach behind and under furniture where my vacuum can not go. It has to be cleaned out frequently and thoroughly because it is so small, and potentially could burn out the motor. I am very happy with this purchase and tell lots of people about it.

Love my swivel sweeper

8/25/2008 - Carmen of Texas, USA writes:

I don't know why all the bad reviews. My mom bought one and I didn't think it would work because of these reviews but, I really fell in love and bought my own. It is not a vacuum so don't expect it to suck like one, lol. Like it says it is a sweeper. My house is 100% tile and this is really a time and back saver. It gets the doggie hair and dirt and stuff and takes like 5 minutes. I really like this product.

Bad News

8/17/2008 - Oscar of MS, USA writes:

I got this as a X-Max Presents a couple years ago, and it was working great for a few weeks. But I have a cat, and soon after I began using it, the cat cat hairs jammed up and somewhere jammed and actually melted the parts together. Can I get replacement parts?.... LOL Costs me an arm and a leg The End
