not worth the money or the wait

1/31/2008 - KC of Texas, USA writes:

This product is not at all as good as I expected. The brushes are very poor quality. Each time I put on the makeup, I had to pick bristles from the brushes off my face. Also it is not good for women of color because the shade selection is so limited. The travel brush that you fill with the makeup for touch ups on the go did not work at all. I filled it with the powder but could not get the powder out. You would be much better off going with a tried and true makeup brand like []. Or just pick up some [] at the [] because Sheer Cover is not worth the money or the wait.

Great Product

1/27/2008 - Allison of Rhode Island, USA writes:

I recently bought the sheer cover kit and I love it! I used to use bare minerals which seemed to be more "cakey" but sheer cover works great! I love the concealer! My face looks almost flawless, and I have a lot of acne scars. The only advice I could give to someone who buys the kit, don't put on too much moisturizer before putting on the powder! it makes the makeup cake on your face. Let the moisturizer dry completely before putting on the powder.

avoid using the brushes.. they suck

1/26/2008 - julie of England, UK writes:

the product iself works well for me and does prcaticly what it says, but the brushes feel like horse hair and gave me an hurrendous rash, the rash is now starting to clear up and i use my own professional make up brushes (kabuki brushes are the best for the mineral foundations)so if anyone buys the starter kit throw the brushes away they're terrible and severely irritate the skin. Go for the kabuki brushes from bare minerals, they're fantastic

Worked great for me.

1/22/2008 - Kim of West Virginia, USA writes:

I'm really suprised at the vitriol in some of these reviews. Did these women receive the same product I did? Or maybe they aren't using it properly because I love it. If it looks cakey you are not applying it correctly because my experience has been just the opposite. I'm a Clinique and Elizabeth Arden user and I have to say the coverage of Scheer Cover is far better. It's lighter and longer lasting plus the level of coverage is amazing. I can literally erase splotches and capillaries like the little ones I have at the base of my nostril. As far as break outs I've had none yet. In fact, my skin feels like its breathing for the first time in a long time. I recommend at least trying the product. It's worth the risk.

The only place I will ever buy my foundation from!

1/21/2008 - Kathy of North Dakota, USA writes:

Sheer Cover is by far the best and easiest makeup to apply ever!!! I have been a member of sheer cover for just about a year now and can honestly say I am in love with the product! And for $29.99 for everything you get in your starter kit just to try it, its a steal! The mineral foundation is so much faster and easier to apply than liquid foundation and feels so much lighter than liquid foundations. I have acne prone skin and with the concealer and mineral foundation together it does cover just as flawlessly as the commercial says and leaves my skin soft and smooth. You get two different colors of the mineral foundation so you have different colors for summer and winter when your face is tanned and one when it is not. Or you can mix them together to get the perfect match! I was a little bit concerned about the sizes of the containers at first but don't worry they are just sample containers when you order more it will come in bigger containers! The brushes are about the same quality as you would buy at the drugstore, mine lose hair everytime I use them but I don't consider it to be a big deal. If I have to buy new brushes in the future I would probably look elsewhere for better quality brushes but the travel brush is very handy. I was also excited about receiving the cream eyeliner which was not as good as I expected. (I'll stick with my drugstore eyeliner.) Went on smoothly but wore off after a couple hours. I also was not a fan of the lipgloss. Very childlike and dry, I had to put alot on and still could not tell I was even wearing any even with mixing colors. (I'll also stick with my drugstore lipgloss.) But the lip to lid highligher and mousse blushes are a MUST have!!! I get them included in my kit all the time and have almost every color! I love love love them for cheeks and highlighting! You don't have to use alot to get color so they last a long time and wear all day long!. Mousse blushes go on smooth and creamy. You have to try them! The facial cleanser and moisturizer is very nice as well but I already buy my skin care products from somewhere else. Mascara was ok but I still buy my mascara from the drugstore. Of course everyones skin type is different sheer cover might work well for some and not for others. So for the money the starter kit is worth a try!

ITCHY RASH AND ACNE!!! DON'T USE THIS PRODUCT!

1/21/2008 - Anonymous of Illinois, USA writes:

I have no idea what these "natural" minerals they are using are, but all I know is they made my face, chin and neck break out with little, raised red bumps that were REALLY close together. It looked AWFUL! And it was embarrassing. I NEVER HAVE HAD ACNE IN MY LIFE and I am 22 years old, nor have I EVER had an allergic reaction to make up before... I'm someone who is always trying new products and has never had a problem before now. I AM STILL RECOVERING FROM THIS PRODUCT! The rash showed up 2 days after I began using it which my dermatologist said is common. A rash from a foreign product takes 1-2 days usually. Not only that... I bought it to cover up dark circles, and it didn't even do that. Sooo, my skin looked exactly the same after putting this on. I knew it was too good to be true. RIP OFF.

Best Makeup Out There!

1/21/2008 - Heather of Ohio, USA writes:

I was very skeptical when I purchased this product. When it arrived at my door, I watched the DVD and applied the makeup. I was completely shocked that it did exactly what they said it would on the infomercial. The coverage is great and the concealer hid my redness and made my freckles less visible. The amount of product received was a bargain for less than 30 bucks. All the products in the kit are wonderful and I have already added some color products to future kits. I would recommend that everyone watch the DVD before applying the makeup. It takes a special technique and incorrect technique can make all the difference in the world. Hands down, excellent product!

not like the tv ad

1/18/2008 - sherry of Florida, USA writes:

I got this thinking that it would cover the redness and blemishes that were on my face like the commerical but the colors were so yellow base i looked bad. i ended up washing my face and i tried mixing the colors to blend them to match my skin but no luck the coverage that they get on tv was not there. i gave up . the kit is sitting in a closet not being used. not worth the money sherry

Look Younger

1/11/2008 - Bonnie of Massachusetts, USA writes:

I am 62 yrs old and lead a very active life. I love putting on SheerCover in the morning and not worrying about it all day. It does not fade or melt off from activity. Once in a while I will use my touch up brush if I'm going out after work. So many people have told me how beautiful my skin is.

LOVE IT

1/4/2008 - Melissa of Colorado, USA writes:

When I first tried this product, I was wary. I picked up the light to medium set at my local bed bath & beyond. After experimenting with the shades (a mixture of bisque and buff) I finally found one that looked right. I put it on and was disappointed...my skin looked exactly the same but more yellow. So I put on another layer and the coverage improved greatly but my skin still looked yellow. I let the make up sit on my face for a half hour longer before checking it again and this time the shade seemed to have blended in with my face and I looked natural, luminous, and air brushed. I have prominent freckles and otherwise normal skin and I would have to say that this product does not erase my flaws, but it instead makes them less noticeable. Great product.

Excellent Product

1/2/2008 - Jennifer of Iowa, USA writes:

I couldn't be more pleased with Sheer Cover! I have redness on my face and this makeup totally covers it up. It gives my skin a soft, flawless appearance. Also, the Sheer Cover concealer is the only brand I've found that really hides blemishes completely. I highly recommend this makeup!

Save your money

12/31/2007 - Cheryle of Ohio, USA writes:

I don't usually buy stuff off TV, but I've always liked and trusted Leeza Gibbons, so I gave it a try. I thought the packaging was cheaply done. Cases are hard to open and close. Brushes are okay. Cleaser, moisturizer, cover & powder don't last through the day, and not better than what I could get at the department store. The lip glosses are not like putting vaseline on your lips--not much color at all. Don't waste your money, it's all a come on. I'm surprised Leeza puts her name on this. They must be paying her well.

Breakout City

12/29/2007 - Angel of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

My 13 year old daughter and I (34)tried this product. We were so excited when Sheer Cover showed up on our door step. After about 3 to 4 weeks of using this product our faces began to breakout all over. My daughter does not have acne and she started freaking out when she started getting big huge pimples. I on the other hand have acne prone skin and thought this product would be great for me because they say it is all natural, won't clog pores and is good for your skin. Don't waste your money it's not worth it.

Totally sucks

12/29/2007 - Delilah of Louisiana, USA writes:

All I know is that I have been using [] for about 3 years and never broke out once. I bought Sheer Coverage at a local store and tried it and I got a zit right in the middle of my face. I would never use this product again!!!(gave the junk away). My sister just ordered the sheer coverage (don't understand why) and she had to wind up getting a manager on the phone because they were trying to sell her all kinds of other products.

It worked on my acne prone skin

12/28/2007 - Danyelle of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

I have been using this product for about four days now, and my skin has improved greatly. I'm 17 and this year my acne reached its peak. I go to the dermatologist, use prescribed cleansers, lotions, and take multiple pills for my acne. I have been prescribed just about everything for my acne and I was on the verge of taking Accutane (extremely strong medication with a lot of side effects). After using Sheer Cover for literally four days my acne is going away. I even stopped using my prescribed cleansers. I would advise anyone with acne to use it.

Great Product

12/14/2007 - ann of Minnesota, USA writes:

I wholeheartedly agree with Dey of Texas who stated that some of the other reviewers had not watched the video. You need to watch it! This is a great product. The minerals go a long way, the brushes are great. I can't say enough how good it is. The base perfector is my favorite. I'm 50+ and it makes my skin feel like velvet. Since I've started using Sheer Cover, I've had numerous comments from my co-workers, male and female, on how good I look. And for anyone out there suffering from hot flashes and who've had issues with make-up, Sheer Cover stays on great. I'm a former Cover Girl user, but this beats Sheer Cover is by far the better product. Also the cleansing lotion beats anything else I've ever tried. Go try it!

Works great!

12/2/2007 - Mrs. Alford of Florida, USA writes:

I am very happy with this product. I believe results truly depend on the type and condition of your skin. I am 34, with enlarged pores & combination skin. I've been using the mineral foundation and duo concealer for two weeks now, in conjunction with ProActiv. If your skin is sensitive or allergy-prone then I wouldn't recommend it due to the bismuth oxychloride content. I have been getting tons of compliments since Day 1 of using Sheer Cover, from my husband, co-workers, friends and family. The secret to using this product is "Less really is more"! You only need to apply a minimal amount to achieve the maximum desired look. The only negatives are: the products are a little over-priced, and the brushes are cheap. I invested in a set of MAC makeup brushes which work great!

Waste of Money !!

11/27/2007 - Dominique of Ontario, Canada writes:

Sheer Cover seemed like it would be a great product !! They make it seem like it will make anyones' flaws vanish. I should have known. My skin is not bad & I was hoping to hide just a few blemishes & sun spots. I don't think it covered anything & my face looked exactly the same !! The brushes were a joke...childrens makeup sets come with better brushes !! The reps at Sheer Cover have been polite, but extremely aggressive at getting you to stay with them and sign on to different things !! I have since cancelled my order ( I hope ) and sent the product back !! Since I live in Canada itcost me 13$ to send the product back...too bad they don't tell you that part. I hope that the refund is smooth & no more charges appear on my bill, I have to admit I am a bit worried after reading everyone elses comments !! I don't think I will ever purchase anything on TV again....

sheer cover is very good product. all you need is give it a little try to make it your own. I use to use liquid foundation and you could still see chicken pox scare i have next to my eye. i tryed sheer cover and you cant see it at all. most of the complaints i have heard is actually coming from people that wont give it enough time to play with it to see how it actually would work for you.
