No Better than Cheap Minerals

11/16/2008 - Jean of PA, USA writes:

Not only did I not get the covergae promised, but the brushes, etc. were cheap, too. I broke out in about 4 days and returned it. I'm still waiting for my credit card to be reibursed - three weeks later. Need I say more?

BUYER BEWARE - unethical business practice!

11/14/2008 - HT of WA, USA writes:

I ordered this product over the phone while watching the infomercial. The sales rep asked me multiple times to upgrade the package and sign up for convenient monthly auto-replenished shipments. Each time I stated I was not interested, and merely wanted to try the first set. Much to my disappointment they started charging me every month on my credit card, with the second months charges being reflected prior to them even sending a second package!! By the time I called to cancel, they said a credit would not be issued until the package was received. I sent back all of the packages marked RETURN TO SENDER and still did not see any credits. Had to call back again to cancel and they said they would only remove the last charge, which again was charged weeks after I had already cancelled. This is the biggest scam. This company should be put out of business for unfair practices, and Leza Gibbins should be ashamed to put her name on this product. [] is better and it can be purchased at retail stores, [], and even []!

I LOVE SHEER COVER!!!

10/18/2008 - JB of TN, USA writes:

I'm a middle aged lady who is closer to 60, than to 50 now, who looks to be in my 40's (so they tell me...and yes, it's actually true 8-) I'm in the spotlight at times, and I've used most likely, every type of make-up created through the years. I have pretty good skin with a pimple or two that pops up every now and then. Only a few fine lines and no deep wrinkles. I've tried EVERY SINGLE MINERAL MAKE-UP out there. Those advertised via Infomercials as well as ads from online, to the ones on stores. Without question, Sheer Cover is the very best quality mineral make-up ever made. I've read that many people have had problems with billings and customer service. You know, that is going to happen with any product at anytime. The people who work in that department are working for hourly wages and have nothing to do with this product. If you do not want to have a recurrent billing with the company, you do have the option of registering at the Sheer Cover site and choosing ONLY those products that you want, which are sold for a specific price. You can choose as few or as many items to purchase there as you so desire. If you are ordering a kit, you have the option to choose the frequency of your delivery also. (up to 10 items / up to 16 weeks frequency of delivery) On their site you will find MANY more products than shown on TV, and the one AMAZING PRODUCT that they fail to tell you about on TV, is the Base Perfector, which comes in a tube and is to be worn under the powder. THIS product makes your skin feel like SILK or VELVET it is so softening, and it absolutely does give your skin a PERFECTLY flawless base on which to place your powder. You will see NO pores! IF you still think that the mail-order is not for you, you can buy this product at several stores which I would not be allowed to state the names of here, at a reasonable price. (Google it) You can also buy Sheer Cover on the [] auction site, in all forms from the kits to just one product. After trying ALL of the mineral make-ups. This one is my choice above all, and everyone in my family now uses it. THREE GENERATIONS, all ages, It works for all of us. I always use [] for my moisturizer which is a trade secret of many of the stars. A drop goes a long way. You can also put less than a tiny drop on your finger (rub your fingers together to make it even less) and if you have obvious lines or wrinkles after applying your make-up, such as under the eyes or crow's feet or around the mouth. Just gently pat the finger with a miniscule amount of [], over the top of your make-up. Blot, if you've applied too much so that it looks too oily. It's very concentrated! [] defracts the light that shows the lines in your face. So, there's a secret of those that are in front of a camera constantly. Sheer Cover is the absolute BEST, for any age female!! It's definitely MY make-up of choice!! I have good skin at this time in my life because the fact is, that Less is More and with Sheer Cover, the results are MORE but it is so lightweight that you don't feel like you are wearing make-up at all!!

Beware of unapproved charges

10/6/2008 - Vanessa of AZ, US writes:

I also ordered the trial kit and thought it was so-so. With no intention of purchasing more, I recived a $90 make-up kit in the mail and was charged to my credit card. The website nor the infomercial make it clear that you will automatically be charged monthly for automatic delivery of more prodcuts that you don't order. I would not recommend Sheer Cover to anyone. You can get the same quality mineral powders in drug stores for $10 and won't be billed for things you didn't order.

Not Worth Your Money

10/5/2008 - Odessa of NE, USA writes:

I tried this make-up product and it isn't worth the money. You would be able to find the same quality make-up at discount stores and if you want to spend more, at department stores. It is okay make-up but nothing special.

beware debit scam

10/5/2008 - Kim of wa, usa writes:

I bought the product after I just had a baby. Thought 29.99 not bad for all that make up advertised-cool. I figured it would last me a long time since I don't use make up often. On the phone they tried to offer me free magazines and my fiance was paying for it so I had him pick the magazines. Well my fiance is quite the question asker and wanted to see how he was getting the free magazines. They were going to start billing us for a subscription of magazines and we had to cancel 30 days prior to the 3rd month. He was like no way we don't want anything free, because that is not free. We were continuously asked on upgrading our package and I said no, no to everything, no to bigger 2 month supply or whatever it was, no to the additional multivitamin, really no, all we want is what is advertised on tv which is the 29.99 package and that was it. Well we got our product and I was pretty happy. The product was great, but here comes the troubling part. I received another package. I called and asked why I received a second package. They told me that its the way it set up. Well wouldn't I have to authorize it to continuously be billed and receive more? You would think so, eventually they will get in trouble for the unwarranted debiting system. It was a nightmare to get fixed. I had to call in 4 different times and it was just strange how the systems had to be down twice after my initial phone call. The fourth time I finally got through and they attempted to give me the run around, but I demanded a refund and a prepaid postage for the product. I waited and after almost 4 months finally got my refund. Don't trouble yourself with this, it's not worth the time or effort. Go buy [] or some other version the ingredients are better and in [] or [] or whatever it is they call it only has 5 ingredients. Although I do like the way sheer cover works better, not thrilled about the billing makes me go for the alternative.

Actual product OK, Cost/service is not

10/3/2008 - Kylie of Vic, Australia writes:

OK, the actual powder is Ok, and looks reasonable when on. Its the cost and all the other stuff you are forced to buy, as well as billing issues/poor service that drag this product down. Crummy moisturiser & cleanser, poor concealer, brushes that shed hair, the list goes on It costs over $400 per year to use this product and you get more of it, even if you dont want it. And just try getting a refund. My advice is to invest in a mineral foundation at a department store and get one of the assistants to match it to your skin. Get a decent set of skin care items and stick with it. You will save time, money and aggravation in the long run

Great product!!!

9/30/2008 - Brittanie of Massechusetts, na writes:

I would have to say over all, Ive been using Sheer cover for about a month or so now. I like it so far, I have not complaints what so ever. I have to say that it has helped my skin as far as acne is concerned. I would normally get break outs often, but ever since I used S. Cover, the break outs havent been so bad. I get compliments at work and family. Every one seems to love it on me too!!! Some people may have not so good experiences, and let me just say that what may work for me, may NOT work for you. Our bodies react differently and not the same. Well I love this product and I will continue to use it untill the next best thing!!!!

Good product, poor customer service

9/28/2008 - Nadia of CA, USA writes:

When I first ordered Sheer Cover I got it in 3 days, I liked it. It did cover blemishes like it was told in the commercial, and I could find my own perfect shade. I liked the fact that I could excersize with this make up on, and it would be still good for my skin. When the time was for my next shipment, I waited for 3 weeks and didn't get anything. I called, they said that they will send a replacement, I waited 2 more weeks, didn't get anything. I wrote an e-mail, they again promised to send me my order, 2 weeks later I still didn't get it. I called again today and they said that they don't have any records of my first replacement being sent, but they did send me a new order after my e-mail. I don't know if I should believe them. If I don't get it in the next week, I'll just cancel it. I can't wait for my make up 2 months, I might as well find something good in a make up store and have it right away...

Not Worth It

9/19/2008 - Rachel of Iowa, USA writes:

I cancelled my subscription because I felt it was not worth how much it cost. I still kept getting charged for the next 3 months and kept calling and the customer service reps were not helpful. Would not recommend this product at all.

awesome

9/12/2008 - no of no, no writes:

This is the BEST makeup i have EVER used. I have really blotchy red skin and it covers it all. I was really hesitant trying another mineral powder but this is so concentrated it really covers and it's sweat proof so it stays on! I especially like that the concealer is a cream and covers my red areas. I would NEVER order a product from an online infomercial. I picked mine up at a [] cart in the mall, i guess the lady said some locations were testing it. I hope they keep it because I have not found anything comparable and I have tried EVERYTHING from drugstores, to makeup counters, to private companies. This is also the most natural-looking makeup I have used. My friends say it doesn't look like I have makeup on, and I showed one girl who went on vacation with me what I looked like without it and she couldn't believe it! She now orders hers but I guess she doesn't mind the billing. Anyways, it's definitely worth a try, and I think you get a money-back guarantee so what's the risk!?!

BILLING SCAM!!!

9/8/2008 - Dawn of Toronto, Ontario, Canada writes:

The product was mediocre at best - I used it for a total of 3 days and went back to my old product. A couple of days ago I noticed my credit card was charged and sent an email requested a refund as I had not ordered anymore Sheer Cover. Today I received a reply thanking me for my email and saying how sorry they were that I did not understand how their service works. They will not be refunding me, but they promised to cancel any further shipments. If this company were not a scam - would they not offer to refund the full amount upon return of the product?!

Don't believe the hype

9/6/2008 - Andrea of MI, USA writes:

I ordered Sheer Cover about four months ago. My skin was basically blemish-free, I just wanted a little boost to even out my complexion. Initially, I thought the make up was great. The coverage was good, my skin glowed, and it didn't feel like I had any makeup on. So, as a disclaimer, in that regard, I think SheerCover works. However, the side effects are numerous. Shortly after I started using the makeup, I began to notice tiny bumps on my forehead. I thought nothing of it; I figured I was just having a minor break out. Well, that minor breakout slowly turned into a a major disaster. The small bumps turned into big pimples, and it spread from my forehead to my entire face and chest! Only now I am realizing that it was the Sheer Cover that is causing this acne/rash fiasco. As my breakouts got worse, I used more and Sheer Cover to cover them up. It took three months of progression and the failure of typically reliable acne products for me to figure out that this had to be an allergic reaction to something and that the makeup was the only possible source. I stopped using the makeup two weeks ago, and finally, the redness is starting to fade and some of the pimples are going away. But my face looks terrible! I know it will be over a month before things get somewhat back to normal. I say somewhat because the few blackheads that have gone away have left scars on my face. I have made an appt with a dermatologist to see what can be done. There needs to be more advertising done about the potential for allegic reactions.

Love my sheer cover

8/30/2008 - El of NS, Canada writes:

I adore my sheer cover. I have been using sheer cover for about 4 months now, an I really love it. I do wish I could have tweaked my intro order a bit, particularly the bronze lip to lid highlighter, since the bronze just looks bad on my skin. The pink lip to lid highlighter is great for me and I love it. As well my second shipment was supposed to come with a sponge gift but did not. Despite that, I love the way it covers my many flaws. I have acne scarring and darkness under my eyes. The foundations and powders I used to use have been thrown in the garbage since I started using sheer cover. Sheer cover feels so much nicer on my skin. I tried another mineral powder, but the cover just wasn't the same.

Somewhat Satisfied

8/30/2008 - Tammy of WA, USA writes:

PROS: For me, no breakouts, covers well if you use lots of cover cream underneath, healthy for your skin, skin looks luminous, no fragrance or chemicals, nice color selection, works better than other mineral foundations. CONS: For me, requires touch-ups throughout the day, need to use way more than advertised, GREATLY accentuates wrinkles, rubs off very easily, T-zone is shiny and oily, the rest of my face is dry and cakey looking. I only use this product to give my skin a break, or if I’m not leaving the house. I wish it worked better for me. It probably would work best for younger gals with youthful skin. My biggest two disappointments are, it rubs off way too easily (blowing your nose, hugging someone, etc.) which looks awful, and it accentuates your wrinkles significantly.

Its OK

8/16/2008 - Jean of Manawatu, New Zealand writes:

I have used 2 other brands of mineral makeup and found them wonderful to use, it feels like im not wearing any makeup. I found this Sheercover ok if you omitt the moisturizer, and base perfecter, as this made my face look cakey and shiny. On 2nd application, I just continued using my own moisturizer, and it gave a smooth coverage, no caking or shine. I did not think much of the cleanser, or highlighters or lip gloss. I liked the eye liner. Will no longer continue with the product when i run out. Have already cancelled future orders.

Horrible Experience

8/13/2008 - Heather of Mi, USA writes:

I ordered this make-up and it wasnt something that I cared for. Make - up was messy, conceler was cakey. When I called to cancel, I was assured everything would be done when I return the next shipment of product. I did. Still - 2 months later, they continue to bill my account. Not for the amount agreed. I again called to ask why they continue to bill the account - I need them to stop taking money and credit the account for the product returned. So - as I go on my bank account this morning to look at my activity, sure enough (3 months later) they did it AGAIN. So, I called customer service (AGAIN ) Well, this time I asked for a supervisor, who was the rudest, unprofessional woman I have ever dealt with. Still - no assurance my account will be closed thru them, and when are they crediting my perssonal account? No answer. So - I guess I'm heading to the bank and filing a dipute thru them - hopefully Sheer Cover will then close the account. Beware -

Just OK

8/11/2008 - Claudia of Arizona, USA writes:

I purchased this product last year because I was tired of liquid foundation and how caked on it looked. I product looked worked better than liquid foundation and it covered some of my blemishes but not all. It did however make my face a little oily but blotting sheets I bought at a beauty supply store took care of that. I used sheer cover just about everyday and it lasted me about 2 months. They have an option of picking when the product will be sent to you next anywhere from a couple of weeks to 16 weeks. I changed my to 16 weeks so that I could decide if I really wanted. After I finished the product I decided I would try a different brand which was a bit more expensive but it worked better for me and it lasted longer.

Hated it!!!

8/5/2008 - Aimee of Ohio, USA writes:

I tried this after I ran out of my other minerla make-up. I didn'y like it from the moment I opened the box! The brushes look very cheap! It does not cover like they show on tv! I only like medium coverage and it did not cover the lightest of blemishes. Also, I sent my order back per the 60 day trial. They sent me a new kit and charged me for it and refuse to credit my account for it! I tell all my friends to avoid this product all together!!
