This product is a simple design and it does exactly what it is designed to do..... that is, it shoots a stream of steam out of a very small hole. It works very well cleaning very small areas like cracks and crevices If you have a larger area to clean, it will take you all day. I used mine a lot when I first got it, but now it sits in the closet. It's just much easier and more effective to clean "the old fashioned way." I do pull it out to clean where the sink meets the countertop, but that's about all it is good for.

I love gadgets, and usually can find an excuse to buy the latest and greatest version of a product I already own. Not so with the Scunci Steamer. This thing does what it says it'll do. I've had mine for going on 5 years now and use it every two weeks-- how's that for durable!!!!

It's been the third time I've got tricked by the infomercial, I've had enough. These companies spent all their money on advertising and that's why their products are so poorly made. THIS IS TRUE FOR ALL INFOMERCIAL !!! I bought this crap and i was very excited to use it and i thought i could return it if anything. knows it broke within 3 days !! It just won't turn on any more...I mean it's not like I am using it to clean a landfill, I was just cleaning my sink counter top, OMG!!! So i called for a return and they put me on hold for a good 30 minutes and finally told me that i can return it if i agree to pay for the shipping to send AND to return back to me, it's $30. Great right? The story didn't end there, they asked me like 100,000 questions about how I broke it. I DIDN'T BREAK IT !!! IT JUST WON"T TURN ON ANYMORE!!! GEEZ....NEVER EVER in my life trust this company and any other infomercial !!! PEOPLE !!! TAKE MY ADVISE !!!

I was getting ready to move out of my house and I wanted to use my steamer to clean around the house! It worked a few times and died. It did not last at all. A wasted $60!

I can understand why some people would say this is a weak steamer, but it also depends on what you are trying to clean! I have had no problems with it taking out stubborn build-up in the oven, tricky grease around the sink or in the grout, some backed on stuff on the stove-top and odors from cushions, etc. But I wouldn't for one second think it could clean everything. It is not an industrial cleaner by any means but if you want to avoid using chemicals in some of your cleaning, this steamer gets most jobs done perfectly well.
Worked well, but not durable.

I tried this about 2 years ago for simple cleaning around my apartment. I have old appliances and my stove top can never seem to stay clean. PROS: This steamer actually worked well for that purpose. It loosened the gunk well enough for me to simply remove it with a soft swipe of a scotch brite scrub sponge. I could have cleaned the mess with household cleaner and some elbow grease.. but this was faster, easier, and it made my appliance shine like no cleaner had. I also used it to clean soap scum on my tub and shower and to clean the small amount of mold under my faucets. For mold removal this steamer works fantastic. It won't remove hair dye stains very well, or any time of stain, but it loosens stuck on gunk very well. I DID NOT try it for steaming fabric or getting smells neutralized. Therefore I can't comment on that. CONS: Bulky, takes a bit to get the heat and steam going, not well made or durable. I used this for a few months, put it away for another few, then realized that it wouldn't work when I tried to use it again. I have no clue what broke on it, but after a few months of just hanging out under my kitchen sink it was kaput. I didn't bother to call the company or replace it. for $50 and a few months of use, not worth it. BOTTOM LINE: It does work, best uses are for mold removal and loosening stuck on surface gunk. Broke after a few months, but I'm not sure why.

My mother and I were cleaning a family member's house whom had passed away. They had smoked in the house for some 20 years. While we were at [] I saw this product and bought it, figuring it would help to get the film of scuzz and dirt off the walls before we primed and painted them. Let me tell you, it didn't work at ALL! Not even a little bit! Soap and water on a sponge cleaned it better than using the steamer and scrubbing. Later I tried it in the bathroom and it was of no help there either! I returned it to the store! Do not waste your money!

While the Scunci Steamer does not work quite as magically as it does on the infomercial, it DOES and CAN clean amazingly well on some items. When I finally bought mine (in-store; refused to pay the outrageous S&H one is asked to shell out via on-line or through the TV ads), I was a bit disappointed at the length of the power cord but pressed on anyway. The first place I used it in was the bathroom; as we lived in an RV at the time, the surfaces were all plastic. You'd expect it to work exceptionally well on plastics but I found, to my disappointment, that it was on plastics that the Scunci Steamer fell very short. On tiles and such, it works like a dream. On pots and pans and sinks, again: like a dream. Grills, too. I didn't know what to expect as far as length of time before the water/steam ran out so wasn't taken aback that it didn't last longer, when I used "full strength" steam; however, I was disappointed to learn one cannot or should not refill the water reservoir immediately after it empties, as this results in a mini-explosion of boiling-hot water which, as I am here to tell you, HURTS!! This was especially fun because I tend to clean house fully nude, so as not to dirty any clothes unnecessarily. I learned not to repeat THAT mistake again, believe me!! The attachments included worked quite well, though I found that the cloth covers for the 2 flat-head attachments REALLY SHRUNK after the first wash, and were essentially useless thereafter. Also on the downside: the dripping. Even at full steam there is an awful lot of water dripping (this is especially true when using it to de-wrinkle clothes, which were often left with very noticeable water marks, and while these dried soon, it was still not like the ad in any way). To make matters worse, to hold the hose attachment for best use, your hands WILL get burned, or at least pretty darn warm! Still, I'm glad I bought it. I used it a lot at first and now use it only sporadically, mainly because it's inconvenient to let it heat up completely, wait for it to cool to refill, then wait again for it to reheat. On the PLUS side, it is, as the ads said, IDEAL for toys and baby gear; pots, pans, and sinks; grills; telephones and any equipment where dirt and oils can build up in a cracks and crevices. All in all, it works but isn't the "Dream Product" the ads would have you believe.

PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! This is almost as terrible and as much of a joke as the Oreck & the Pasta Pro. Im surprised someone isn't suing for just blatant lying and misperception to the public. The flow and the power was as strong as a toy, NOT for what a adult would ever need to clean with. It didnt even remove the wrinkles on my curtains and they are ONLY 250 Thread Count!! I have never been this stooped. I feel like their laughing all the way to the bank!!

I was excited to use the very sharp pointed nozzle with this steam cleaner, but after the hour's novelty of getting off greasy grime, I wished for a more powerful unit. Using the flatter nozzles, the water dripped a lot, and I would not trust it for cleaning upholstery.

For those of you who say it doesn't get hot are wrong. I put the product decently close to my stomach and it literally melted my skin through 2 layers of clothing. I lifted up my shirt and layers of my skin were melted off just sticking to the side of the wound. Actually still have a scar. On a good note I used it to get paint new tiles. One problem is it would take the paint off the molding if I got to close so watch out. I tried using it for clothing and it soaked my clothes.

I tried the product and it was OK but things didn't all clean as quickly as on the commercial. Still I was ok with it until the top got stuck on permanently. I guess when it cooled down with water still inside,the lid expanded and it's on for life. I still have it, thinking maybe one day I'll call the company or Hercules will stop over.

I saw this product on an informercial and was intrigued by it. Rather than buying it on TV I purchased it at [] for $29.95. Cleaning problem areas takes a little longer than on the commercial but in the end it does get the job done. Probably not as versatile as they will have you believe - but overall not a bad tool.

Save your money. Takes to much time when it actually does something. Does very little. It does not clean a shower as advertised. Doesn't have enough power to keep water hot enough for any length of time. What a waste of money and time.

I purchased the scunci steamer a few months ago after my brother had shown me his. I love it. I use it to clean my bbq grill (among other things) and it does really good by cutting down my scrubbing time. I dont' use it all the time but in the time I've had it it's more than paid for itself.

I purchased the Scunci Steamer to clean around the engine of an old motorcycle. It worked very well in small areas that were pretreated with a degreaser. I have used it elsewhere in the home with good results but here in Louisiana hard water stains are near impossible to eliminate with any cleaning agent. One word, Use only distilled water in it. It will produce plenty of steam and will last if you do. I found the product worked as advertised. Bought it on the internet.

I bought this product to clean my shower because I don't handle the fumes from chemical cleaners well. I didn't find that it was worth the time, but it is FANTASTIC for spot cleaning the carpet and cleaning window tracks. It blows gunk out of unreachable window areas, and doesn't leave any residue on the carpet like spray cleaners.

I got mine almost a year ago and only used it once to try it. It did nothing but spray a fine mist of warm water over what I was trying to clean. The water doesn't get hot enough to clean anything. I stuck my hand in the steam and it was lukewarm at best. Save your money!!
