Thirty minutes after setting it free our dog decided it was an invader and attacked it. Our cat decided instantly that he wanted nothing to do with it and hid in the basement. If you decide to get one of these things.... watch your pets.

We have an open concept home with hardwood floors in kitchen, dining and living room as well as all the hallways (over 1000 sf!) I am amazed at how much dust the thing picks up the morning after I have vacuumed and washed the floors! Do not expect it to vacuum!!!! Sand, dirt and stray cereal flakes will just get moved around. The Robo is just an automatic Swiffer and as such works great. Hint: Buy "Swiffer" pads at the dollar store and cut them to size. Just 1 pieced together will cover it completely and it works just as well as the custom made ones. Only complaint is the plastic is a little flimsy... still not a problem. Used properly it is a very good product. I love it.

Bought one in [] for $4.99. Inside the box was a coupon for 48 "free" replacement pads (Only $5.99 for shipping). The site sells 24 for $14.98 including shipping so I sent away for them. I did pay extra for a priority mail delivery receipt. Yeah, I'm cynical. They arrived in less than a week. Bottom line, I like it for our main room and front hall which have brick floors. I like it for the bathrooms and kitchen which are tile. I like the idea that I can set it and go off to do errands. It's clear from the stuff that sticks to the pads that it's doing a reasonable job. I've learned I can turn the pad over and use it again on the reverse side. It doesn't pick up all the bird's seed - but then nothing but the vacuum ever has. I bought 2 more at [] just for the coupons.

A great cat toy! Though you'd have to be a fool to think that a sticky disk wandering around your floors would actually clean them! Then again... isn't that who infomercials market to? Did I mention it is a great cat toy?

Robo Maid does just ok - good for very minor stuff. Nothing beats good ol' eblow grease and Hoover for floors. Cat likes it.

Bought this as an Xmas present for the kids last year. They have light hardwood floors and thought it would save them some time in tidying up. It does but it moves the more substantial "dirt". dust bunnies, thread, animal fur, etc under the areas the device cannot not reach. Such as under kitchen cabinets, and leaves it there. The floor area looks clean but you need to sweep where it deposits the "dirt'. It just sorta moves the dirt around the room; only picking up the fine dust. The younger kids and the cats love to watch it; good for amusement.

We have (1) long-haired cat, a golden retriever, and (1) short-haired cat. Daily "swiffering" is necessary for our hardwood floors, especially with small children crawling around . The Robo Maid has helped immensely in keeping up with the pet-hair and has allowed us time for more important things.

If this was a $3 item at a toy store for entertaining my 2 year old it would be living up to its full potential. However, what is basically a rolling ball attached to a tissue is being sold as a vacuum cleaner substitute. Incredible. I had 2 problems with this silly device. First, it doesnt work. Second, I dont have perfectly smooth floors free of obstacles. Who does? It will not cross over carpet, or those little strips between rooms. I did as much work preparing my floor and lifting robomaid up and down, and moving it around, as I would have done if I just vacuumed the floor in the first place, which I am gladly back to doing now. Do not buy this garbage.

This product was only successful in amusing my cat. It does not pick up much, and what dirt/dust/hair it does pick up merely drags it over to another spot on the floor. Don't waste your money, buy a good vacuum.
