I ordered ProActiv because of my adult acne. It seemed to clear it up, but my skin felt kind of raw and sensitive. What I really did NOT like was how the toner ran out way before the other products. (I'd buy toner on [], but it's so expensive.) Also, I only ordered one kit over the phone and I never authorized "joining" their club. They still sent me more products and charged my debit card and this created overdrafts in my checking account. I was so angry!! After reading other ratings, I only now understand the mystery I've had regarding my towels and washcloths with big bleach stains. For 2 years I've tried to figure out how they were getting ruined because I never washed them with bleach. Now I know it was the ProActiv!!! How good can this product be to be putting it on my face when it bleaches towels and clothing!!?? I won't be using it any longer......
ProActive Doesn't Work on Everyone

This product works only when you are using it. The ad says it will get rid of your perfect skin forever...yeah right. It doesn't. It only got rid of zits (my friends) for a while and then when she stopped using it, she had extremely bad outbreaks...not good. Dont use it.
It made my skin worst than ever!

I never really had bad skin. I only had a little acne right next to my sideburns and I wanted to stop it once and for all. I tryed the product and after using it for almost 2 months , I stopped because I started to get break outs in places I never got before. I stopped using proactiv one week ago and my face looks horrible. I have more acne than I have had in my whole life. I just want to hide my face in a bag. I was looking to better my skin and proactive made it worst..

I had acne break out only once in a while a couple of spots here and there.I bought Proactiv about six months ago. For the first a couple of weeks I didn't not notice any big changes in my skin. It did not get worse, but did not get any better either. After fourth week of using the product I started to get horrible rush on my face. Also, my skin started to break out like never before. I went to see my allergist and he said that Proactiv is not for everyone. People with very fare and sensetive skin can become allergic to the main active ingridient that Proactiv solution is made of. It've been five months since I stop using Proactiv, but my skin still didn't get the way it was before. I think people on those infomercials should mention that Proactiv is not for everyone and that some people can get allergic reaction.

This product is basically a mild benzoyl peroxide solution, similar to what you can find in many products at the drug store. If that stuff works for you, then you may like this product. I know someone who had a lot of success with it. It seems to work well with traditional oily-skin teenaged acne. It was a disaster on my dry-skin acne rosacea. It dried my skin terribly, left it too sensitive for my usual moisturizer, and it doesn't come with a moisturizer (any dermatologist will tell you: that's not good). I followed the directions for several weeks, and my skin just kept getting worse. Their customer support said this was normal, that it would improve over time, but it didn't. When someone said to me, "Oh my god! What happened to your face?" I stopped using it.

I love this product. I am in my 40's and still get occasional break outs but since using this product, my face has been zit free. I actually have not even had one break out since I started using it! Only problem I have is that it stains towels,washcloths and anything else it comes in contact with so whatever you do,don't get any on your clothing. Another thing is that they send you a new kit every 2 months but I find myslef running out long before my next order get's here. I have had to change my order status to every 6 weeks instead.

Proactive has worked very well for me. I use it pretty faithfully twice a day as recommended and I also use the face mask throughout the week. Nothing else has worked this well for me. I still get the occasional pimple but overall I have seen a great imporvment. I recommend this product to friends.

I started using Proactiv after my sister-in-law recommended it. I have always had horrible skin. I break out all over and my skin goes between overly oily and really dry. So I bought Proactiv and began using it as soon as I got it. After about 3 weeks my skin was practically clear. If I'm in a hurry I'll skip the toner and lotion, but it works best when I use all 3. My skin isn't perfect now, but I rarely break out and when I do their Advanced Blemish Treatment (about $15) works amazing to clear them up. Give it a try, and stick to it because it usually takes about 4 weeks for improvements to be really noticable. There is really nothing better. I use their makeup, face mask, and sunscreen too. 1 shipment lasts me 4 months so I called and had my shipment slowed down to every 4 months, and they always ship it right on time.
Good product, may take some time to work

This is a good product. I had to use it for almost 3 months before it started clearing up the big problem areas. After using it for 2 wks I could tell the areas around the bad spots where looking healthier then finally my bad spots started fading. I'm not zit free, occasionally I'll get one or two, but they are nothing like the ones I use to get and they go away in a matter of days unlike my old ones that would linger for weeks! I do have a complaint about the bleaching it does to my pillow cases and wash clothes...hopefully something will be changed in that. But I know it doesnt work for everyone, give it a month or so and see if theres a big difference from when you started.

I used this product 6 years ago for about 6-8 months. Did everything they told me, hoping against hope it would work; it didn't. I had pretty tough acne, finally went to a dermatologist and, after trying a few things, got it cleared up. If this works for you, great, but if not, see a professional! Don't put too much faith in their pictures: if thousands try it you're bound to get some where it works great.

I have never had bad acne. Just a few very annoying spots on my forehead that never went away no matter what I did. So, a few weeks ago (during my Spring Break) I was up late watching the infamous commercials. I was truly mesmerized and decided to give it a try...the result? My skin is absolutely MAGNIFICIENT!!!!!! I have NEVER had such beautiful skin in my life. The bumps on my forehead are completely gone, and my skin feels so smooth and buttery. I am actually shocked when people say that it didn't work for them. My feeling is, proactiv does not work for people suffering from extreme acne. I belive it works best for those with mild to moderate acne. Overall, I am amazed!
Proactiv works but bleaches

I have been using Proactiv for about 3 years and I have to say that I am very happy with product. I am a 40 year old man who has suffered with acne since about 16. The system has dramatically improved my skin. The only complaint I have is that it will bleach shirts and pillowcases. I have not have a real problem lately but when I first started using it - the collars of many of my shirts were ruined. Recently I have not observed that problem so I am not sure if they have changed the breakdown.

Interesting where the reviews were voted as fake when the person said that the product stopped working! I rate them as true because it happened to me. Used the product as stated. Also, sulfur compound (hard to remove + the smell) & the matte gel (great going on, but it didn't stop face from shining). Used for 2+ years & finally cancelled. Guess the product wrorked, but still got awful blemishes. They did not go away quickly either & when it went away another took its place! Kept using product anyway. Now breakouts are frequent, many & scarring. Cancelled because my hubby said "if it isn't doing anyting, then see a doctor about it. You've more breakouts now than b4". he's right, but i hate the trying of a product to find that it won't work & the price! I was looking @ Exposed-not cheap, but had a higher online rating for effectiveness;I've have acne problems for over 20 years & going strong!

My mom ordered proactiv for me about 3 years ago when I had a really bad acne problem..I used it 2x a day like it said..and it said that I would clear up in 2 weeks. Well....I didn't clear up, I broke out more and more, before I knew it my entire face was one huge zit, I stopped using it and tried to get my moms money back..but they said I switched the pictures around that my before was actually my after(it wasnt...I actually have a huge scar from that breakout)...so I just threw it away..I know it works for a lot of people..but not everyone can use this....

I would recommend this product. I don't have bad acne and I don' use it everyday either but once in a while I get those blemishes and when I use it ,it clears it right up. At one point I had these bad bumps on my face I used proactive and it cleared it up in two days. I just wish it would get rid of the pimple scares.

I started using it and was not happy because it did not work. My face still broke out and I called to cancel. The representative told me about the new extra strength solution so I agreed to use it. WOW!! It works great for me. I absolutely love it and will not go back to anything else. I sell cosmetics as a side business and only use Proactive on my skin.

Using this product for 2 months, I've gotten bitter-sweet results. It does make your skin feel clean, and soft. But I seemed to run out of the cleanser before any of the other 2 steps. The revitalizing toner bites a bit, especially if you have a bigger acne breakout. And the last step (repairing lotion) dries out your skin. I did start noticing a little bit of a difference in my acne. BUT!! unless you use it everyday, it seems to make you skin worse, and more oily, it's as if your skin craves it after you use it for a short period of time. I canceled my order, a month ago, and I still have a lot of the 2nd step left, and when I canceled the lady on the phone bugged me a lot, about rethinking, and things like that...just bugged me sort of. It works differently for different people. I kindof wish I didnt order it.
It works, but stock up on moisturiser.

Proactiv smelled good and felt good on my skin and cleared up my breakouts; the active ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, the only thing that helps me. But I have super-sensitive skin that dries out easily, and BP is rough on it, so I ended up clear but painfully scaly. And I'd ruined two sets of dark towels and several facecloths -- and mysteriously bleached several t-shirts -- before my mum realised that my "face stuff" was doing it. After about a year, I switched to a cheap drugstore knockoff that works better and eliminated my other two frustrations, the cost and the shipping speed. I feel that $40 a month just to wash my face was a waste, and it \really\ frustrated me that it would take 3-4 weeks after my credit card was charged for the shipment to arrive. This is a good product to try if nothing else has worked. Otherwise, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

I've used Proactive Solution for as long as I can remember - before I had my first child and that was nearly 11 years ago. It worked immediately to clear up my adult acne and kept my skin looking great no matter the time of the month. After my daughter was born, money was tight, my skin looked great, so I thought it would be ok to cancel my subscription. It didn't take long for the acne to return, so I quickly got back on the distribution list and haven't looked back. I have had no issues with redness or flaking with this product, but I do use a quality moisturizer and can see where drying would occur if I didn't.
