When I first tries this product I never really had acne, but it cleared up the small blemishes I had for about 2 years. After about two years it just stopped working and my face broke out sooo bad that i had to ge see a Dermatologist. I had acne all over my face along my jawline and my face became very dry and flaky. I tried to send back the product and get my money back but they convinced me to try the stronger formula well after trying it for about a month there is no change for the better and my face looks worse than ever. I will get my money back and never use this CRAP again!!!!!!

I had tried lots of things to clear up my complexion. When I had an outbreak, especially when I was feeling stressed or over tired, my face was a mess. (My wedding photos are not attractive.) Desperate to give anything a try, I bought ProActive as a result of their commercials. That was approximately 6 years ago. It worked very quickly (which is good, otherwise I would have probably given up on it). Better yet, I have not had any significant outbreaks since then, even though I only use the product occasionally these days. That's a very nice bonus. When I see someone with similar skin problems, I want to tell them about the product. However, I have never been able to think of a tactful way to do it, so it has never happened. I wanted to rate the product here as my way of making that tactful recommendation.

I have always some minor acne problems. I tried proactive for a full month and couldn't tell I ever used it. I had the same results with just washing my face nightly with a $1.99 bar of soap. Maybe if you had severe acne this would show more of a change.

I ordered ProActive because my sister swears by it. It made my skin beautiful and clear but the minute I stop using it, I break out even more than before. So, yes it worked for me but when my son used it, it did not seem to work for him. He then tried the Extra Strength one and that too did not work. We are still trying different things for him to clear up his skin. It works for some but not for all.

I've been using Proactiv Solution for many years now. When I first purchased this product, I was told by the saleswoman that it will indeed breakout your face for a while. And sure enough, it did. But eventually it cleared up in about 2 weeks. I do get a few breakouts but every once in a while. I definitely don't use it twice a day or use that much of it. I use the cleansing in the evening and the moisturizer in the morning. Sometimes I use the toner but not very often. My kit will last me between 2 to 3 months. I've never had any issues with ordering because they sell it out here in some of the malls.

I bought Proactiv hoping it would clear me of my acne - I was 27 at the time and after hearing Jessica Simpson swear by it I was ready to try it. My skin broke out a bit then cleared up then got TWICE as bad as it was before. The same thing has happened to a close friend and my sister. I wouldn't recommend it. I am now using a different skin care regime and my skin has cleared up beautifully. (M.D. Forte and bare escentuals make-up)

When I first started using Proactiv I broke out a little more than I already had, but that's something I expected to happen as a result of switching to a new face product. After using it as directed for about three weeks to a month my skin did everything the commercial said it would. The inflammation around my breakouts disappeared, the little bumps on my forehead went away, and I stopped receiving my usual "once a month period pimple". A friend of mine used this product and had similar results, but since she had more acne it took longer to clear up. If only it got rid of the scars that acne left behind.
There is something better.

It works pretty well. The cleanser isn't sufficient in quantity or quality to actually cleanse your skin or remove make-up. A much less costly, and I think better quality, option is "[]". You can buy it at [] for less and no waiting or automatic shipments.
Proactiv kept me off Accutane!

I used Accutane for a short time years ago and that changed my skin for the better. For some reason years later my skin started to become oily and start to break out again. I was contemplating Accutane again but decided to try Proactiv. It works fabulously for my skin. I use just the basic kit. I have one of the moisturizers but rately use it. Great product that actually works. Thank you for that.

I have been using this product for 2 years now.. believe it or not, I ordered this product 6 years ago and wasn't happy about it after a month of using it so I returned the product to get my money back before it pass the 60 day trial. But 2 years ago my friend noticed acne and pimples on my face so she recommended to buy Proactiv and told her that it doesn't work for me. So she told me that I have to be a little more patient with the result coz maybe the product need more time to really clear up my face from acne/pimples. so I took her advice, I went online and ordered the product... but this time I didn't returned it after 60 days.. later I noticed that my face is clear of acne. I'm so happy with the product. But right now, I don't really use their toner coz it will dry my skin so bad. I only get the cleanser. thanx for reading! it doesn't matter if some readers find this a fake review coz i won't lose anything.. i'm just sharing my story and I don't just waste my time in writing this product rating, yah know! This is my only way to show my appreciation to this wonderful product. :) Peace!

i suffered from severe acne. i had a whole cluster of tiny pus everywhere and it was horrible. it was disgusting! i used it for like a week and nothing happened so i used it for 2 and a half weeks and my face was clearing up fast. i missed one night and i broke out a little... so dont miss a night!!

I have persistent (but not severe acne) and sensitive skin. This product is a joke, it didn't do much of anything and importantly it definetly didn't do enough to justify the price. Its no different than 99% of treatments you can get at drug stores. Its just benzyl peroxide and sandy grains of some substance. You could take any benzyl peroxide product on the market, add a little sand and have 'proactive'. I'm not joking-I read the ingredients and looked up the ones I didn't recognize. People who swear by this product are idiots who place too much belief in the testimony of celebrities, who may themselves be dumb but are more likely lying. Like a millionaire star is buying this low quality crap! Wake up! Michael Jackson endorsed Pepsi and the dude has never had in his life...think...people...

first of all this dose really work to keep your face clean but u have to use it every face abd dont go to sleep with a dirty face.. By that i mean eather wash twice a day "moring and before u sleep" if your skin is really bad, or u can usea face scrub in the moring and proactive at night . as for me a 18 year old male i had a coupple pimples but also benn told i have a beatiful face so i try my earnest to keep it clean as in everyone dose so i did a lot of reserch. first of all if your planing to olny use this for a month and have bad acne it prob wont work because u need time for your face to cleanse 2 months min.ive been using it for a year because someone i worked with also worked at a proactive booth and they get to keep unopened refunds so i have about a 2 year supply ..about 30 6 pice sets.. NOW!!!! if yoru a guy hwo get pimples after shaving firt thing your doing wrong is time always shave after u shower your hairs get softer and irratate your face a lost less and also invest in a shaving cream or gel creams are a waste and do nothing to lubracate that should help u a great deal next dont shave aginist the grain more of a side ways shave if u can..Now if lil pimples or even big ones hears wat u do pop them i know i know it siad not to but ive been doin it for years and i have no scares or pimples best way to do it is squeezum just as a fical spa would do it hard untill u see all the puss come out i should bleed a lil that lest u know the pour is clean put some lotion on it and it hosuld be fine in a coupple of days just let it heal some time pop pimples come back just pop um again this is the best way to take care of yoru face

I used Proactive for about 3 years and it worked very well. It's certainly no miracle in a bottle, but the taking the time to go through the routine and make sure my skin was clean probably helped more than the product itself. The wash is a bit harsh, but I still swear by Benzol peroxide. It's the only thing that's ever worked for me. However, after a while the product stopped working. I switched to acne.org's one and this is working again. I'm not sure if this is common, but change in my medications, etc. might have affected this. Overall worth a shot, it worked very well for me.
If I would only use it daily

I am have suffered from acne/bad skin tone for decades (I'm in my 30s!) I started on ProActive years Ago and my only complaint is that _I_ didn't use it on a regular basis - because when I did it really worked. The only way to buy it is to sign up for a "subscription" and it came too often because I never used up the previous set, so it did get pricey... It takes at least two weeks of very regular usage for me to see the difference but when I did OH MY GOD.

I ordered proactive about a month ago because i had breakouts around my nose and on my forhead. They weren't major or red.. just showed when when wearing make-up. Anywayz, I used proactive as soon as it showed up and i loved it! It felt like it was working and the Repairing lotion was great!! A little goes a long way. I'm really busy during the day so I only use it at night before i go to bed. I noticed that when i washed my make-up off my face would get really red but would go back to normal after a while.Now i have little pimples over my entire face!! They aren't big and you can't see them from far away, but if i look in the right light or up close they are everywhere. I'm hoping that it is just a part of completely cleansing my face and they will clear up b/c i want this product to work. Maybe i should try twice a day and see if there are any changes.

This stuff is amazing. My teenage son had horrible acne on his back and forehead. I heard the ads on the radio and saw the commercials on tv. After we had tried nearly every other over-the-counter product available, I decided to give this stuff a shot. I am SO GLAD! Even using it half-heartedly (he uses it 3-5 times a week instead of twice a day like he should), it's still cleared his face and back. If he would use it every day like he should, his skin would be clear as a bell (he did use it every day the first month he had it)!! I've recommended it to several people I work with and gotten at least two to try it recently. It's not cheap but for what it's done for my son - it's well worth the price! I am exceedingly happy with this product.

I bought this product for my son after it was recommended by my sister who gets it for her girls. It worked great on my son's face and acne. No problems whatsoever. A neighbor used it for a while and didn't like it, but it has really worked for us. I have borrowed it from my son to use once in while and I also like how it makes my skin feel, I do not have breakouts like he does. His skin cleared up and stays clear as long as he isusing it regularly. He plays many sports and sweats a lot and sometimes he breaks out more than other times. He says he really likes the product and begged me to continue to order it. We have not had any issues with shipments, billing or customer service- even when I wanted to change the order a bit.

My sister & a friend have been using Proactive for a while now & prior to that they had really bad acne, especially around the cheek area. To be quite blunt, they looked like what the cruel kids call "pizza faces". Their skins now look amazing & you would never have thought that they ever had an acne problem! My own skin was never as bad as theirs, but after coming off the pill after being on it for so long & stress, etc, i was becoming more prone to outbreaks espcially around the area of my mouth. So i tried Proactive for a month following the instructions & there was no change whatsoever & actually i was getting more pimples than ever & this time all over my face. I finally stopped using it lastnight when i felt my entire face burning & had to run it under the cold water tap for at least 5 minutes straight! I don't know what had happened exactly but it was much more than just a simple 'tingling' sensation that's for sure! Also whilst on Proactive, my skin became VERY dry & even had a slight leather quality to it! My skin became much older looking. I recognise that it works well for some but it's definitely not for everyone, especially those with sensitive skin who did not have oily skin to begin with. I'm currently not on anything & will post any progress.
