I used this product because a friend recommended it since I was having bad breakouts around my hairline. I saw results in a few days and it was amazing! I recommend this product all the time! If you have really sensitive skin, they have a new line that has some different medicines for those who have had a bad reaction to the original line.

I'm really surprised at the bad reviews for this product. I've been using it for almost 10 years and would recommend it to anyone with acne problems. My acne is usually stress and/or hormone related and Proactiv, while not preventing 100% of my acne, it keeps it well under control. I have never had problems with drying or irritation and I consider myself to have sensitive skin; I'm very light-complected and burn easily. I have found that the manufacturer's suggestion of washing three times a day is excessive. I only use it twice. I truly feel bad for those for whom this product hasn't worked but I doubt I'll ever give it up!

Both myself and my teenage daughter tried it. I have a very light type of acne, almost more like a rash type. I tried it for a few months, it did nothing at all but dry out my skin. My daughter tried it too...she has your typical teenage acne problems... it seemed to help just a little for the first couple weeks... then her acne came ripping back. She started to get really dried out skin and her face turned red and with a rash and it even began to peel... she looked terrible... make-up would not cover it up as it was so dried out and rashy. Sorry it didn't work for us and I find the products too expensive, especially for canadians since we had to pay even more. We also tried the other product for "sensitive" skin. Did nothing at all.

Worst product I have ever used. I saw the informercial many times before I picked up a 30 days supply of proactiv at the mall. I paid $60 for the package that was supposivley for sensitive skin. After using the product for one day I woke up and my face was completely swollen and itching. I had a massive allergic reaction to this stuff.. You can get the same active ingredient that proactiv contains in clearasil or clean and clear...I went to take the kit back to the mall and the lady wouldnt give me my money back. she said that i would have to wait for customer service to send me a check in the mail for the refund amount. after 3 weeks of not receiving anything, i called the kiosk and asked for the corporate number. I called corporate and they said that it takes 6-8 weeks to get ur refund check. I waited 12 weeks before I called again. I told them this time that if i didnt get a check within a week or authorization from the store to give me back cash, that i was going to report them to the better business bearue. needless to say i received a check within 3 days. my adivse to anyone wanting to use this product is save your money. i use [] followed up by [] everyday (even if i dont have pimples the spot treatment is an great preventative) then i use [] moisturizer...all of these products for under $10..sure beats $60 i would say

I have been using this product since I was 11 years old. I am 22 now. It has been working for me all these years. I had really bad acne and really oily skin. After just 1 month of using it my skin cleared up and my acne scars faded away. I still use it to this day now that I am older. After having my chilren my acne would flar up again and I just use the proactiv and it goes away. Everyone's skin is different, but this product really worked for me.

I purchased this product because I was starting to get spots of acne again after about 15 years of being acne free. After starting use of this product, my face began breaking out worse. I thought at first that it was due to hormones and made sure I used the product exactly as directed. After three agonizing months, I decided to try another product I found in a health food store. My face cleared up almost immediately. I laugh when I see the infomercials now.

Didn't work for me, and my dermatologist didn't recommend it. My dermatologist did not think it was a good product. I would check with a board certified dermatologist about yur individual skin condition before spending the money.

Heard great things about this product so ordered it. Was a little surprised that the BP lotion was only 2.5% since I used to use 5%, but figured I would give it a try. Acne flared immediately, but figured that was because of my period. Acne did not improve which it usually does after my period. Gave it 2 months, then tried my old 5% BP lotion. Acne cleared up overnight! Totally not worth the $$ for me. Got a full refund, minus shipping & handling plus the cost of sending the empty packages back. Would recommend trying a good, mildly abrasive cleanser (or a mild soap on a washcloth) and a 5% BP lotion X2 per day. If you've never tried BP lotion, suggest you start slowly by putting lotion on and rinsing off after 30 minutes. Leave it on longer and longer, until you don't wash it off 'til your next face washing.

Alright, well a few years ago I had horrible acne. I saw the infomercial for this, and purchased it. The first thing I noticed is that proactiv requires the person to wash their face 3 times a day. If this product was as good as they claim it to be, why wouldn't I just have to wash my face once a day to get gunk off my face? Anyways, I used it for quite a while. One day I was very busy and didn't have time to wash my face, and I broke out like CRAZY! I have sensitive skin, and never noticed that the product says not suitable for sensitive skin. Yet, it also claims that it's not harsh on the skin. If that were true, then anybody with sensitive skin would be able to use it. Any time I was to not use the product, even if I only missed one wash and washed my face twice that day, I would break out morbidly. Later I found Olay products. Now for years I have had my acne under control. I only have to wash my face once a day when I hop into the shower, the OLAY face products have worked wonders for getting rid of ALL of my acne in a very short time. I do NOT recommend proactiv to anybody.

Proactive did not work for me at all. All it did was make my face red. The mask helped a little bit, but it was not worth the money that I paid.
Worked Okay for 3 years and then quit.

I used Proactiv for 3 years, and it did an alright job at keeping my moderate acne down. I still had lots of bumps and some bad breakouts but it did help to make my face a bit smoother. There are better products out there (Philosophy) at smoothing out your face, but I haven't found a single one that can completely clear up moderate acne. The best things that have been working for me lately, are drinking lots of water, cutting out soda and dairy, and exercise.

Tried this product for a couple of months on my combination skin that always has pimples somewhere. The moisturizer broke my face out terribly! The other products in the set were ok but they didn't improve anything. Save your money!! I would NOT recommend Proactiv.

I purchased and used Proactive for 3.5 months. I started out with combination skin and experiencing a few pimples from time to time in the T-zone. The first thing I noticed was how greasy my skin suddenly felt; from there, things just got worse. I started getting very deep, painful pimples all over my face. It takes quite sometime for these to go away. I stopped using the product almost 2 months ago and my skin is still a wreck! Overall, I am very dissatisfied with this product. Please save yourself the frustration.
Product not beneficial for dark skin

Okay so Proactiv DOES work for awhile. I used it for about a year and after that, I would still get a bump here and there that would come up. Then it just got worse from there. I think all in all, this is way too DRYING for some people. BP Cleanser, and BP Lotion together is too drying. Anyway, after you stop using it watch OUT, because you will break out worse than ever - painful stuff, too. Not like before I used PA - I would just get an occasional annoying one on my chin. But PA is just too harsh for most skin types. You WILL see it working for awhile - maybe a few years even, but after that, you'll be chasing around the zits all over your face and if you stop altogether - be careful. After long-term use, it causes your skin to produce MORE oil to counter-balance the drying effects of BP, and you start breaking out again, even though you're using it. My advice - if you haven't started using it, DON'T START. The long-term effects are not worth it! There are other products out there that work way better....

I bought this product because I have always had minor breakouts. Personally I found the smell offensive, but I decided to use it anyway since I paid for it. It did not change my skin or breakout patterns at all and when I look at the active ingredients I found it to be the exact same as many of the much less expensive over the counter products. I have switched to using [] skin care and had MUCH better results. To include a much more youthful appearance.

This is an amazing product. I had horrible acne around my cheeks and on my forhead from puberty and stress but i kept on seeing it on TV and i kept on thinking, okay this isnt going to work. but i tried it and it was amazing it cleared my acne in just 5 days! and i started seeing results the first day, it truly is amazing.
