I tried the Pasta Express cooking Angel Hair Pasta. It was very easy to use, pasta cooked within 10min, and cleanup was much faster than pots and strainers. I warmed the cylander as suggested, put in the pasta, poured the boiling water in, screwed on the lid and waited. One additional thing I did was to move the cylander around a little bit at the start of cooking so that the pasta inside would not clump. The negative side? The pasta was soft, but tasted a bit doughy. Some pasta did clump, but I was able to seperate it quickly with a fork. For a quick pasta meal.. not bad.

I cooked angel hair pasta, did not overload the tube and it came out fine. I left it in a little longer than the book said. I'm going to try maccaroni next, keeping in mind that when pasta goes into a casserole it's better to undercook it.

I saw this product on TV and wanted to try it, but I always wait for infomercial products to make it to a store like [], [] or [] before I try it, in case I need to return it. It was only $5 on clearance (never a good sign) at [], so I thought I'd try it. It says to cook it for 7-10 minutes. I cooked it for 22 minutes because I know my family likes their pasta cooked very well. After 22 minutes, I went to strain it and the top fell off, leaving me with a sink full of pasta that was like uncooked dough on the outside and crunchy in the middle. YUK!!! I had to remake a pot full of pasta to have with the sauce I had already made!! Stick with a pot and a colander--TRIED AND TRUE!!

I purchased the Pasta Express about three months ago, followed the instructions to the tee, and NOTHING. I checked the pasta after 15 minutes, NOT done. I checked it again at 25 & 30 minutes, it was not cooked to my liking but the kids were hungry. The strainer-lid fell off when I was shaking the water out (Good thing I had a collander under it just in case or I would have had a sink full of pasta). I tasted a few noodles and they were soft on the outside, hard on the inside, and all you could taste was Starch. Do not waste your money on this, unless you need a tall canister for STORING spaghetti or fettuccini.

The infomercial makes this product look exciting. But it does not work as advertised. I followed the instructions for cooking macaroni and it was starchy and uncooked. I let it cook longer with no better results. I've given up trying to cook macaroni. It may be better for cooking hot dogs but it does not work as seen on TV. Waste of money.

I used corkscrew pasta and even after 15 minutes (following the instructions)it turned out to be a big sticky clump of starch!! Not to mention the fact that it takes longer than cooking it the conventional way! If I had, it would have only taken about 11 minutes once my pot of water boiled and my pasta would have turned out perfect! Also, the container is very hard to clean as it was too big for our dishwasher and the stuck-on starch was hard to remove. I think the main problem is that the container is very narrow and since the water doesn't continue to boil and the pasta does not "circulate" so you end up with a lump of pasta. Needless to say, I returned it and got my money back. The cashier told me they had lots of returns.I would definitely not recommend this. Get a pasta pot instead. That's what I am going to do!

Without all the hoopla about how this product does not work to expectations....which to my multiple uses found out... Who in God's name did a pilot or market test before retail distribution!! I mean... did you ever try and sell a model aiplane made of lead?? These people must think the general public are idiots!! Yes the product is that bad.

I really wish that this product really worked. I was really disapointed, I was hoping that this would make pasta making easier. However I was wrong. I have never ever seen pasta turn out so wierd before. Chewy, Hard and mushy all at the same time! Weird!

Pasta looks nice a soft after 7 minutes, but when you drain the water it all sticks together. Tried a couple of times using at varying time lengths but always the same; one big ball of starchy pasta that is soft on the outside and crunchy on the inside. This went into the EXPRESS line for the garbage can!

What a disappointment. I tried all the tips (pre-heating the tube, etc.) but you could cook your pasta until the cows come home and all you would get would be a starchy, half-cooked mess. When I returned mine to the store for a refund I asked the clerk how many had already been returned. She gave me such a subtle smile and softly said, "pretty much every one we've sold." It wasn't worth keeping a second longer!

The first time I tried it the pasta came out very sticky and doughy. I thought maybe I had left it in the tube too long. I tried it again and even rinsed the pasta after I took it out of the tube. It tasts gummy and horrible. I am sending this back. Don't waste the time, energy or more importantly ... the pasta!

This product does not work at all. I have tried it several times and the pasta takes forever to cook. It is very doughy and has a very unappetizing texture. The pasta clumps up and sticks to the side of the container. Save your money.

5/3/2006 - Randy of Colorado, USA writes:
Tried it twice. Odd effect on pasta. I didn't know that pasta could go soft and yet not really be cooked. Pasta when used in Pasta Express takes longer to make pasta soft but it ends up tasting doughy, like bread dough that hasn't been cooked.

Instructions said to cook asparagas for 7 minutes. After 7 minutes asparagas still hard as a rock...so I tried it for 7 more minutes... still to hard to eat. Put down garbage disposal.

This product does not perform. It does not "cook" anything. Pasta ends up gummy. Please do not purchase this product. Very disappointed!

3/21/2006 - Ken of New York, USA writes:
The Pasta Express takes extra time to cook anything and imparts a bad flavor to anything you cook. Also, the pasta sticks to the inside of the product and clumps. Adding oil or anything else to the water does not help. The only plus is how quickly customer service answers the phone and how friendly they are. P.S. - They are legally required to refund the tax charged on the product. Mention this so you get the refund you are suppose to get.

I used this product a couple of times already. It's cooks angel hair in seven minutes vice the five in the book. It's important to pre heat the tube, Hot tap water. All in all it does it's job.

The pasta is to starchy and no matter how long you rinse it you can still taste and feel the starch. Then you wind up with taste less pasta.I was very dissapointed.I wound up being my sphagetti & macaroni storage unit. What a waste
