It's Great

10/20/2007 - Ray of South Carolina, USA writes:

I recently purchased an Oreck and I love mine. I had previously had a Dirt Devil bagless and just did not like it. While I think that it is pricey I also feel that it is worth the price. I have had mine for about 3 months now and have not had any problems with it picking up either on bare tile or the carpet. I recommended it to anyone.

Love my Oreck!

6/27/2007 - Carol of Virginia, USA writes:

I have had this vacuum for over a year and love it. Cleans just as well as my Hoover Wind Tunnel, which weighs 3 times as much. Have a lumbar disc injury and dreaded lugging the 23 pound HWT around the house, only to have to empty that disgusting dust cup, and replace the expensive filter periodically. This machine eliminates all of those problems. It is smaller, gets in tighter places, and lowers ALL the way to the floor to get under furniture. Plus my back doesn't go out from using it. It actually sucks up cat litter instead of shooting it backwards all over the floor and my legs, unlike the HWT. Yes, the Oreck is over priced. But I have never regretted making the investment and in fact, recommended it to my mother, who also bought one and loves it, too. If you need a lightweight, efficient, easy to use vacuum, go ahead and spend the extra and get the Oreck, which you will actually use. BTW, I have found the hand-held vacuum very handy in cleaning furniture, curtains, fans, etc. Have doubts that it would really lift a bowling ball, but then again, who needs to do THAT anyway?!

Piece of crap

Real piece of junk. Had my carpet cleaned and it was like pushing a reel mower through a cornfield. Very hard. Would never recommend it.

You are paying for a fancy warranty!

8/25/2006 - Anonymous of Texas, USA writes:

This is a very light vacuum, but not very heavy duty. The warranty is necessary because they have to fix it all the time. The fan motor housing cracks, and the brush wears out. The only good thing is how the bag closes when removing, but the bags cost a lot. My Eureka bagless vacuum picks up much better, and I can dump it outside. I had the basic model, and compared to the others in the store. This is just marketing!! Even the commercial one is made the same except for the cord, sells for less, and has a shorter warranty. This ends up being a very high priced vacuum

Not worth it.

8/4/2006 - John of New Jersey, USA writes:

It is an ok vacume on short pile carpets. I got a bonus hand held vacume they show picking up a bowling ball. Yeah, right. It couldn't pick up spilled coffee grounds let alone a bowling ball. I threw it out. Love my Mighty Mite.

Not for Shag carpet

7/31/2006 - Shelly of Oklahoma, USA writes:

We have had this vacume for more than a year, needless to say, it has been to the shop twice. This is not recommended for shag or longer strand carpet. The vacume's roller has broken twice due to long hair tangling in the poorly made roller. Not worth the expense. Should just bought something at [].
