Don't waste your money

6/8/2008 - Jeannette of Tennessee, USA writes:

I saw this opener advertised and I thought it would be great for my arthritis. And give my hubby a break from opening!! It worked great for about a month or so. Then one day while it was opening a jar, it just broke. The teeth are made of plastic, as is the whole thing, and one side just snapped in half. There went $20! No way to repair it.

Broke on 3rd try

4/13/2008 - Karen of Alaska, USA writes:

At first it worked good and I was very happy with it. But then it got ahold of a lid that was on very tightly and it broke. I havent been able to replace it, so I am very upset about that because when it worked it worked great! Just upset about the quality of the product!

It won't go off!

2/9/2008 - Cacky of California, USA writes:

As an arthritic, I was thrilled to receive the jar opener as a gift. I got a jar ready to open, placed the batteries in position, and closed the lid. Oops! The problem began. It began to whir and wouldn't go off! I opened the jar, and had to open the battery door to turn it off. It's a great idea, but needs some fine tuning.Needless to say, I'm very disappointed.

Can't remove batteries easily

1/17/2008 - Pual of Tennessee, USA writes:

I think the product is wonderful, but I can't change the batteries that are installed with an odd slant in the chamber. They stick! At $3.00 for a rechargable battery, I am waiting to contact One Touch at 1-800-236-7996 to see how to get them out with something other then needle-nosed pliers that has aready damaged

works great on some jars, wobbles on others

12/4/2007 - pamela of Arizona, USA writes:

if you have problems opening gatorade or starbucks bottles, this device will make the process a breeze! pickle and mayo jars open easily also. marmalade jars sometimes a problem. watch this device as it can wobble, fall onto floor and break. i am extra careful when i use mine. use high grade batteries (not cheapo ones) for the best performance. great for athritic or disabled people

Okay

10/21/2007 - Stephanie of Ohio, USA writes:

So my first try ended up with a pair of pliers and a lot of sweat, but since that disasterous try it has worked well for our family. You do need to follow the directions for the product to work. I've never seen any "wobble" happen and have walked away while it's working. Yes, you do have to watch the sharp edges on the can, but it's only an issue for the careless, elderly, or young. My only advice is to watch out when opening tuna cans as the product cuts away holding space for the juice. Product works well for us!

Well it does work ...

9/30/2007 - Anonymous of Arizona, USA writes:

I recently was able to use this 'no touch' can opener. It does clip onto the can you are opening and after pushing the button it will work itself around the can. However, don't expect to walk away from it. While it does open the can the edge of the can is sharp (I usually use a manual one made for arthritis suffers that does NOT leave a sharp edge). I was disappointed that it left the cans sharp. It also 'wobbles' alot while opening cans and can be hard to get off the can and then fully shut-off. It is a 'O-Kay' product. Since it isn't expensive, and does open the jar, giving it a 3 star rating.
