DO NOT BUY

11/26/2007 - Jessica of Washington, USA writes:

This was the biggest waste I ever saw. I had to put rechargeable batteries in it because it ate a set of batteries every other can. The plastic screw you use to get the can off when it stops in the middle, it wore out after a couple of times. This was a gift from in laws so I have to keep it around for show other wise I would have tossed it. I went back to a regular can opener ages ago.

Good Product

11/25/2007 - Penny of Texas, USA writes:

Have had no problems at all. Works very well. I have experienced no sharp edges and no imperfect cuts along thr rim of any can. I use this item 2 or 3 times per week. I recieved it for Christmas 2006, I have changed batteries one time.(3 mos. ago) The blade is still sharp with no discoloration or unsanitary deposits on it. Well worth $20.

Not An Effective Tool

10/8/2007 - Matthew of California, USA writes:

The One-Touch struggles while cutting through the metal on the can. I have to use my hands to help it turn around the top of each can I use it on, defeating the purpose of buying it over a manual can opener. The lid doesn't really have any sharp edges but the can is incredibly dangerous, especially if you have kids. I'll be going to the store tonight to buy a manual can opener!

Went to ER with metal sliver

8/25/2007 - Rick of California, USA writes:

On the 2nd use of this dangerous device, a piece of metal got stuck in my throat. I started coughing up blood. My elderly mother called 911 because I was hysterical. I spent 6 hours in the ER. After reading the manual, I discovered there is a 20-second timer designed for 3.5-inch cans. It doesn't know when the can is open. On my can it went around the can more than once; for large cans, it would need to go more than one cycle. Therefore it's inevitable that it grind the edge, making splinters. Stay away.

waste of money

8/17/2007 - Lica of Texas, USA writes:

I bought this one touch can opener in []. It worked until battaries died right while it was opening the can. I tried to follow instructions to release that thing from the can and like one person already wrote here, the screw is made of cheap plastic and of course it got all crashed and the can opener was still sitting on my can of tuna! So, after trying to get it of the can to save at lease can of tuna, I had to give up and throw the whole piece into the trash! So, basicly this can opener is one touch one time use opener, disposable. It's agood product for millionairs, buy it, use it untill it stuck on a can and throw it away. I would never buy it again. And I am going to tell all my friends not to buy it.

piece of junk

8/8/2007 - JP of California, USA writes:

I could not open one single can with this thing. It kept locking itself on every can I tried. I had to press the release and force it to come off the cans.

Not worth it

7/28/2007 - Marie of New York, USA writes:

I received this as a gift because my wrists can't handle my trust manual can opener anymore. It works well on medium/large cans, but for small cans like tomato paste, it's impossible to use. Even for short tuna cans, it's hard to use this. It takes time to get it lined up just right and for the cutting mechanism to catch. The lid comes off with no sharp edges, but then the top of the can is razor sharp. Mine died completely after 3 months of very occasional use (about 1 can a week, on average). In that time I had to change the batteries twice. For $20, I certainly expected it to last longer than that. I would not recommend this to anyone. I replaced it with a $7 electric can opener from the local discount store.

Easy and cool

6/8/2007 - Malia of Hawaii, USA writes:

Greatest little gadget around. I've always hated the mess that ordinary can openers leave but this cleans a nice clean cut. "Walks" around the can and stops. (it tells you clearly to WAIT until the motor stops). You lift it and the top falls into your hand or on the counter. There is no mess on the blade of the opener, and very little mess on the lid itself...and I've used it on everything from soups to tomato sauce.

Need Concept, bad implementation

6/3/2007 - Michael of Arkansas, USA writes:

My wife bought this and used it twice before a lid got stuck in the thing. Trying to remove the lid from the can opener resulted in her slicing her finger open. It took me a long time and a lot of power to free the cut lid from the device. She used it again a few more times before another lid got stuck and she just threw it away.

Works great

5/30/2007 - Jeff of California, USA writes:

Have had for over 3 months, opened probably 50 cans and has worked absolutely perfectly every time. Still on original batteries (good alkaline batteries). Think some people having problems are not reading the instructions and not letting the opener complete it's cycle before trying to remove the lid. Would buy again in a minute.

Waste of Money!!!

5/25/2007 - Doug of Maryland, USA writes:

When I tried this product today for the first time, the motor inside kept stopping & would not cut around the can & now the motor doesn't work at all inside of it, also please be aware that the stall release screw on the bottom of this one touch opener is made of cheap plastic & will chip when using a phillips screw driver as instructions say to do so.

Ruined my husband's hand

5/23/2007 - Nathania of Louisiana, USA writes:

I bought this product on January 6th of 2007. About a month ago, I heard a sudden scream and my husband of 31 years was gushing blood into the sink. The machine was stuck in his wrist! I called 911 and had to apply a tourniquet so that my husband did die of blood loss! When the ambulance arrived the machine was still stuck on the "ON" position! They eventually removed the machine in the operating room but my husband now uses a prosthetic hand. His therapy and hand has cost us thousands of dollars and he now has depression. However, I'm giving two stars came with the batteries.

One Touch Opener

5/10/2007 - Diana of Texas, USA writes:

This one touch can opener is great! I love it...my other can opener was so annoying. I hated turning that knob, but this one is awesome. It really works like it says it does, and it doesn't cut you when you run your finger along the lid. It's the best infomercial product I ever bought. I LOVE THIS THING.

Works (once in a while)

5/4/2007 - Pat of California, USA writes:

For every one can it slowly opens, you spend hours trying to release the cans that get stuck. And they do get jammed in the cutting mechanism, you need a wrench and towels or you will cut your hands trying to remove the lid.

Coolest As Seen on TV thing ever

5/2/2007 - Jon of Illinois, USA writes:

This is sweet item. I was about ready to buy a regular electric can opener, but this is way better sollution. I have to small children who consume canned fruit like it's going out of style this thing saves me the trouble of a manual can opener and the space of an electric.

Very convenient, fun too!

4/13/2007 - Emily of New Jersey, USA writes:

This little bruiser has helped me out through Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter (why are they all at my house?!). It pleasantly amazes me every time...working away while I tend other things. Must've gone through dozens of cans in the almost 6 months I've used it on the original Duracell batteries. Would I buy it again - absolutely!

WASTE OF MONEY!

4/12/2007 - Ed of New Jersey, USA writes:

I purchased one for my Mother for Christmas. The only way it will work is to put fresh batteries in it for every can you open with it! I've had to help her get it unstuck from the can at least four times. and as far as no sharp edges, the lid is safe, but the top edge of can is razor sharp.

1 touch opener

4/8/2007 - Amy of Texas, USA writes:

i think this is a pretty good little opener. it fits nicely in an drawer instead of a normal can opener which sits out on a counter taking space. i also like how there are no sharp edges. the only thing is, sometimes the darn thing takes forever to make it around the can!
