japinard

Very disappointed in this product. Most of the vegetables must be chopped before you even begin dicing, and a potato, even small and thin, nearly breaks the blade & plastic housing. a ripe tomato = chunky tomato sauce.

my second one has just gone in the bin!!!

8/17/2008 - simon of conwy, wales writes:

having seen the tv ads i ordered one off the internet and i am glad that i didnt pay anywhere near the £30 price tag! The first time i used it was to do a casserole and the blades on the large one bent when i tried to do a swede. i have continued using the small julienning blade which i have had no problems with. thinking that i had made a mistake trying to dice a swede with it being a particularly hard vegetable , i thought i would give it another try and i bought another one last week. again it bent on the first occasion of use and this time i was dicing a cucumber. SAVE YOUR MONEY, USE A KNIFE!!!

I have been riped off

8/3/2008 - Tracey of Alicante, Alicante writes:

Just bought this product and was so looking forward to using it. Tried an onion first with the smaller blade, no luck. The larger blade bend, so I tried a sweet pepper finially it worked after I put it on the floor and put my foot on it!! I can't believe what a scam that is, it clearly doesn't even slightly does what it was designed to do. Can you believe I was going to get a magic bullet but I wondered if it that would be any good but tried this instead. A complete and utter waste of money and the energy it took me just to press the lid down on a piece of sweet pepper the size of coin. That will teach me to check out the reviews before I make an impulse purchase

Love it.

I was given this as a present. I love it. Should have read the instructions though, as I fought for months trying to clean the grid, once I realized they pop out, cleaning is a breeze.

Not so good :(

6/23/2008 - Jen of n.y., u.s.a writes:

At first I thought this product was great! The more I used it,the more I disliked it. Tomato's turned to mush and made a mess,I would cut carrots, onions, and I would have a hard time getting it to cut all the way, it would get stuck.also the blades are not so easy to clean.

Good Kitchen Tool

5/18/2008 - ML of BRITISH COLUMBI, CANADA writes:

Overall, I like this product, especially when it comes to chopping up onions. My only complaint is that I wish they made the chopping circumference much larger, especially for large onions. I read somewhere that it made a mess of the tomatoes. I find that to be the case (same with the onions) if you try to chop with the skin facing the blade. It's the same thing if you chopped with a knife, it is easier when you chop against the meat of the fruit/vegetable instead of chopping against the skin. Cleaning is a breeze. It rinses out easily. I read people complaining that it is hard to clean. Maybe they are forgetting to slip out the circular plastic grid out from the base to clean it. Once you do that, all you need to do is rinse it. If there are some food debris stuck on the blade, just use a brush to brush them out.

don't waste your money

4/16/2008 - judy of New Zealand, New Zealand writes:

Not good, not able to chop tomatoes as it promised on TV. Made a mess and my tomatoes are squashed. I have to slice it before putting it under the cutter, I might as well just continue cutting it with my knife and save me money buying rubbish.

Want Good One

3/5/2008 - Vicki of Missouri, USA writes:

I bought into it also. First time I used the medium blade cutting three baby carrots the blades bent. Got them bent back but they complete deconstructed on the 3rd time used. Second one did the same. It would be great if the quality was there. Loved it the few times it worked. Too Bad.

Save your money

2/8/2008 - Cheryl of Ontario, Canada writes:

I totally loved this when I bought it. It seemed to work well and did exactly what I wanted...for about 1 month. After that the blades on both cutters bent and fell out of the machine, just while I was cutting up a small piece of onion. I thought that I would contact the company since it is supposed to have a 5 year guarantee, but unfortunately, the company has not gotten back to me after many attempts. It's a shame because it would have been such a wonderful product if it had worked and if the company had gotten back to me. Unfortunately, I have to recommend to everyone to save their money

Could have been in everyone's kitchen

1/18/2008 - claire of England, UK writes:

i was so pleased with the nicer dicer that i don't know how i'm going to live without it now, i used it a LOT! as others have said, the quality of the materials used is so awful - they're obviously producing it as cheaply as possible - that after having 2 pack up on me so quickly i do not intend to replace it for a 3rd time in six months. the nicer dicer should have revolutionised the kitchen; what a shame the company got greedy and went for cheap production. it's going to be forgotten about very soon (except for those who bought it!). even with word of mouth, had the blades not been flimsy and actually stood up to the test of time, i guarantee that there would have been one of these in just about every home. oh well... back to the knife!

THE WORDT EVER, no not buy this

12/5/2007 - alegria of Florida, USA writes:

This is the first time in my life that I buy a product and put it on the trash the same day, I just keep the plastic containers, the other part I try to cut onions and all the metal parts broke the first time. Believe me you are going to lost your money, I was so mad that I put it on the trash immediately, I payed about $25. THE WORST PRODUCT EVER, do not try it or you will regret it.

I like it!

9/25/2007 - Violet of Idaho, USA writes:

I reaed reviews AFTER I ordered, and wished I hadn't sent for it. I LOVE it! I have a busy kitchen, and have used it every day since I got it. I bought another one for my mother who avoids choppind due to severe arthritis. She loves it too. I don't know why there were so many bad reviews. Probably from folks who have little experience with food preparation, or who don't use as directed. Great design and works perfectly!

Piece of rubbish!

9/23/2007 - Meryem of England, UK writes:

This was a very disappointing product. The blades bent the FIRST time I used it, whilst trying to dice half an onion. The design is fairly sound, but because it's been made with such cheap materials it simply isn't tough enough to do the job. What a shame that the company that produces this is more concerned with building a business by ripping people off with the initial promise of a great product through clever marketing strategies. Don't buy it - it's made of cheap flimsy plastic and blades and the packaging screams 1970's!

Got one of the good ones

9/20/2007 - Billie of New Mexico, USA writes:

I bought this unit from [] when it first came out, must have been better back then. Up to this point the biggest problem is with the softer veggies i.e. tomatoes, bell peppers and the such. Thought about partially freezing them before dicing but haven't got around to trying it yet.

Looks great but. . .

9/2/2007 - Jay of Utah, USA writes:

Other than ordering problems, the products blades broke off. Some of the dicer blades came off on the garlic dicer and both the large and small vegetable dicer. I don't know how the product stayed in tact during the restaurant demos. I have emailled them and called. No response. I have not been persistant, however, I would recommend not to buy this product. I consider my $84. down the drain.

Love it!

9/1/2007 - Linda of California, USA writes:

This is a great product I use it all the time! You have to use hard roma tomatoes and the inside of the onion. You need to prep you food first but the outcome and ease is wonderful. Great money saver you don't need to buy pre diced onions and great for salad making. My family loves it!

Very nice, but poor quality causes early breakdown

8/26/2007 - Robin of British Columbia, Canada writes:

The product dices brilliantly and worked well for the first two weeks. I make big salads, Indian, Chinese and Italian food, so I used it heavily. It was a bit hard to clean, but did such a nice job of chopping that I was willing to put up with it. Unfortunately, the construction is junk. The blades, both coarse and fine, started to bend in two weeks. The hinge, a flimsy plastic peice, broke off, making it impossible to use. I persisted, holding down the hinge part with my hand, because it still did nice cuts. Pretty soon, the blades resembled Alfred E. Newman's teeth, so I threw it awy. It COULDA been brilliant, but it was obviously rushed out the door with insufficent testing of the design and materials. Thre is no point buying this thing. It will work well for a short while, but break down fast. It's the design thang. Pity.

Great!

8/18/2007 - Jerry of Illinois, USA writes:

I don't know why the nicer dicer gets such bad reviews. I love to cook but have a tremor in my right hand which prevents me from dicing. This item has made my life great. With tomatos in season now I use this thing almost every day. It stays sharp, comes very clean in the dishwasher and the few times I needed replacements the company more than satisfied. I love the nicer dicer.
