While having some common sense advice, book does not contain anything new/special. Spends far too much time discussing the government (Yes, we all know the FDA are in drug company pockets and spend most of their time obstructing natural health business that haven't paid them off with huge drug application fees.) The actual cures sections are mainly missing. The advice found here is far more vague than the title or infomercial implies. Also, be aware you may get followup snail-mail from this purchase inviting you to be part of some secret organization that will help you be rich among other things. Don't fall for it. It's a known scam. These people are sharing their mailing list in ways you don't want to be shared at the very least. Natural health concepts are beautiful when really followed, but this book offers very little of the real deal. Many better, ground-breaking books to buy for real advice.

I think that a lot of things that he suggests in this book is just good old fashioned home remedies. 100% of the food that we buy in supermarkets is full of toxins, harmones, etc. There are natural cures out there for most all diseases and the FDA doesn't want us to know that. Think about it,if we could cure ourselves,we wouldn't need them. Let's face it,we're all just profitable lab rats to them. I believe that the FDA does know that alot of the ingredients in food is killing us. They know that drugs have life threatening side effects. They test them for years before they put them on the market. I think he is using this info to help the public but also to help himself. If it was truly about getting the word out and helping the people, then he shouldn't sell us the info, just give it to us.

This book was humorous, if nothing else. It recommends eating organic, daily colonics (of which you need to subscribe to his website for the "ingredients")and exercise. I did get a laugh but no real useful information that wasn't common sense. Check it out at the library if you're curious. Don't buy for the outrageous price and shipping charges unless you like to just throw money away.

A Warning to everyone who is thinking about buying this book: Don't do it . I tried a heart burn cure in this book as ended up in more pain than i started out with, then i asked my Holisti ciropractor (who has helped alot!!!!) her thoughts on the book and she told me that some of the info was helpfull But most of it is alarmist and to take his words w/ a grain of salt

Bought the book and I actually know of a couple of cures that really do work, such as the acid reflux and the high blood pressure suggestions. My grandmother told me that these are simply home remedies that people used in the old days. I have listened to the cd and it actually gives you a healthy way to go about your eating habits, plus a couple of other suggestions which help in the weight loss battle. I think that John T has taken some known home remedies put them in his book, and has tried to over market them, when they are just simply home remedies. The one thing I do agree with is his whole view on the drug companies.

I purchased this book, I was ripped off with the shipping charge of 25 dollars and he doesnt tell you anything is his book, he states in his book to to go his website and pay more/subscribe to his website. I think he is a liar and all he is interested in is making money. Should you buy this book? No unless you dont mind paying him MORE money on his website.

I paid $15 in store. If you read carefully the book is filled with good ideas on ways to feel better and lose weight.I majored in Nutrition in college, much of what he states on chemicals in grocery store & chain restaurant food is true.If you give his detox's, organic foods a shot - you will almost certainly feel better. Obviously annoying, are the attempts he gives at selling his website and friends books. Get past that, and don't expect some "magic cure" is within the pages - and you will be ok. His ideas about the food companies and government teaming up together may make him seem a bit paranoid.. However,35 years back, we said people were paranoid for thinking the tobacco companies would put chemicals and enzymes in their products to get customers hooked and addicted. Worth my $15, but, not worth it if being upsold newsletters & cds by Shop America Operators who are following his "scripts" as reported.

This book started out to be very interesting and informative, I started out from the front like the intro said but before i got to far along and got any of the so called natural cures, every thing refered to the website for more information at 9.95 a month, botton line: this is a very prety book but you can only get more info at 9.95 a month. i have not finished it due to the continious plugs for the 9.95 a month

Don't bother with this book. This author has been sued by the federal and they have ordered him to stop advertising and selling this nonsense!. 20% is common sense as he mentions drink at least 10 oz of water a day DUH!! and the 70% is just bogus. Don't waste your money its not worth it.

I just graduated with a Masters Degree in Physiology and Biophysics with so I know a few things about how the body works. I flipped through the book for a few minutes and it was some of the best comedy I've ever seen. He will give some health advice and then try and back it up by explaining why and how it works. The problem is his explanations are utter manure. His reasons are reminiscent of the scene in Monty Python where they say that if a woman weighs the same as a duck then she must be made of wood (because both foat in water) and that witches are made of wood (because both burn). I realize that many people do not like medical doctors. But please do not let fear of doctors or thinking that the book will be cheaper than your medications lead to to trusting someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.

Not only is this a bunch of b.s., but the sam you into charges. This company charged my account not only ofr the book, but also and additional $71.40 for some news letter I didnt want. As a result of these charges, I was charged three overdraft charges in the amount of $30 each for bounced checks. So now I am out $161.40 because of this book. Good scam Kevin, not that you're new to this anyway. You've been there before, I read up on you.

I have to admit, I was curious about this book. Luckily, I didn't have to buy it to read it! Nothing more than common sense, natural diet, and "because I can't print the truth in a book, you must join my internet newsletter for $10 a month". Blah Blah Blah! This was a complete let-down! EVERYONE knows we need to eat fewer (or no) processed foods to lose weight and regain our health. Not exactly a news flash there! My recommendation: go to your local library and get some books on common-sense nutrition. Eat better, get active, drink water and take a quality vitamin every day. Is anyone willing to pay me $29.95 for that tidbit of information?!? Save your money.

Kevin has gathered information that many, leading researchers and "turn-coat" people from the FDA have been saying for years. This is nothing new. It is finally in one book. The food we eat is garbage. In the name of faster growth, higher crop yields we have poisoned our land, put quality farmers out of business, and have made millionares of people in the pesticide and drug industry. Why do you think health-food stores are successful? You are fooling yourself, your body and your life if you think the govt, FDA and doctors have YOUR best interest at heart. Fine, you don't don't like it? You didn't experience a miraculous healing? Go see a doctor and get another prescription and stop complaining about something you are intolerant of. As for me, my friends, family....we will bypass the mad cow disease, the bird flu, etc. etc...and stick to organic. I have never been healthier in my life.

This book was somewhat interesting, at first, Until you realize it is all about HIM-about what HE has discovered, what HE has told ppl to do. HIS fights with the Govt. He DOES NOT give any actual answers on any diseases as he promises on the commercial. Besides Eating like a Forest animal, and getting your colon clean. I think this book is of no use, and would gladly sell it, or give it away!

1/7/2006 - Mike of California, USA writes:
kevin is very correct, it is all about the money. i bought the book and only the book. I had to say no five times to the sales person so i wouldnt get billed for all sorts of stuff. she was not enthused about her product and stated so when asked. in the dust jacket quotes and blurbs and there was a typo right in one of the quotes, the word "health" was spelled "heath". this was a big red flag, if you sell 4 million books for about 80 million gross and he is going to let this slide, it is "all about the money". In the infomercials and book kevin uses the word "virtually" all over the place, this word means "not in fact or strict definition", it is what i call a weasel word and it is used all over this guys vocabulary. weasel talk, carnibarker this is a conspiracy theory at its onset. selling fear and anger

I can't say that I have spent the time reading the book yet, but what I can say is to not buy it off of the infomercial. Go to [] or some other store to buy it. What he does through the infomercial is get you to buy the book along with "free" back copies of his newsletter. Then you have 30 days in which to cancel the newsletter or you are automatically charged another $70-$80. I called the phone number prior to the 30 days being up (in fact it was more like 15 days) and I still got charged and had to call in again and wait over 30 minutes to talk to someone. I did finally get my money back, but I turned him in to the FTC nonetheless for fraudulent practices of using my money without my authorization.

This product is crap -- read the book and besides a few common sence items, it was worthless ... there were so many references to go to his website in the book that I became irritated ... then the facts he quotes were questionable to say the least -- do not waste your money

OK, this is the most ridiculous thing ever sold by someone. You would think, that with innumerable scams over history sold in infomercials all the way back to door to door, people would not trust somethign offhand, CERTAINLY not a book backed not by science or even freaking logic, but simply one man who frankly doesnt give me a vibe of knowledge...or even smarts for that matter. HOLY COW< we could rename this book to "shop at the nasty organic supermarket and wash out your but with collonic on a pretty much daily basis = your cured of everything."
