Love this product

6/27/2007 - Sarah of Kansas, USA writes:

I have very, very, very curly hair that is extremely hard to straighten. I bought my Maxiglide in the fall of 2005 before then I would have to brush and blow dry my hair, which left my hair huge and frizzy. After all that I would have to use a flat iron on the highest setting just to get my hair straight and that didn't even make it super straight, that whole process took about 2 to 3 hours. With the Maxiglide I could just let my hair air dry curly and then straighten it, this only took me about 45 minutes including the time it took for my hair to dry. For the best results after I had straightened it with the pinned plate I would always use the flat plate, I was getting the straight hair I had always wanted. My sisters would always take my Maxiglide because I would straighten their hair faster than their flat iron. After about a year my Maxiglide stopped heating up like it suppose to and it wouldn't produce steam, So I ended up buying a cheap $30 flat iron. I have been using that for about 6 months now and it just fries my hair. I have gotten so many split ends, the Maxiglide never fried my hair and it never gave me tons of split ends. I totally think that Maxiglide is the best thing on the market and I will throwing my cheap one away and either getting my old one fixed or just buy a new Maxiglide.

Maxiglide...boooo

6/18/2007 - Patty of Illinois, USA writes:

Purchased it from [] after seeing the remarkable results, and because it was on easy pay. It does straighten your hair, but it doesn't stay frizz-free like it claims. If you set it at a temperature that doesn't fry your hair, then it doesn't straighten it. If you set it at the temperature required to straighten your hair, then it fries it. I am going to save up to purchase a [] flat iron.

Only takes 20 minutes

6/1/2007 - Ginger of Tennessee, USA writes:

I have fine wavy hair that gets kinky and frizzy with any amount of humidity. This is the only way I have been able to straighten my hair and keep it that way all day. It only takes about 20 minutes. The item is a little bulky to deal with and you do need to use it the way the DVD instructs.

Works wonders

5/27/2007 - Ashley of Alabama, USA writes:

I have very curly hair...VERY. Throughout my childhood many family members, friends, and salon workers tried to straighten my hair with blow dryers, typical flat irons, a chi, and even a curling iron...and it looked AWFUL, leaving my hair "straight" but fried and ugly. The Maxiglide leaves my hair looking like I was BORN with straight hair. I used it before my graduation and someone asked if I got it chemically straightened. I was shocked. This is defintely worth the investment, although if you use heat-protection products they can sometimes get built up around the combs.

Great product

5/21/2007 - Keidy of Connecticut, USA writes:

This straightener works so well I don't know how I ever did without it. Everything shown on the commercial is 100% true. I have tried it on family members who have extremely coarse hair and it leaves their hair looking like they just came out of the Salon.

Over Prices

4/9/2007 - Lisa of Florida, USA writes:

This product is to heavy and runs very very hot. My head starting sweating while trying to use it. I don't recommend it for medium to fine hair. I use my cheap one from walmat and it works just fine. This is a real over kill flat iron. Not necessary for everyone. :(

Best Hair Straightener I Ever Bought!

4/2/2007 - Lindsey of New York, USA writes:

I got a maxiglide as a present about a year or two ago and I love it. Before this product I have never been able to straighten my hair without it taking me at least 2 hours, but the maxiglide had me done in 45 minutes. And my hair was stick straight. I have thick, curly, course hair so it is very difficult to straighten and I use either setting 5 or 7. And the two products that they have to keep away humidity keeps my hair stick straight for at least 3 days even if it rains. Definately worth it!

Gotta admit..IT WORKS!!

3/21/2007 - Stef of Virginia, USA writes:

I decided to try this becaue I seen it here on this site and folica. Man!! This actually works so well its addictive, I flat ironed my hair, wigs, weave my daughters hair. Anything i could get my hands on! I actually revitalized wigs that I gave up on from over a year ago! The combs are abit tricky, you cant just glide it through at first - PLEASE COMB YOUR HAIR WELL OR ELSE IT WILL PULL OUT ALOT OF STRANDS. But, once the hair has been combed a little, it does glide through and its AMAZING!!! I simply cant live without this now. I didnt use the products because it left my hair feeling gunky like it needed to be washed. It takes me about 10 to 15 minutes to iron a whole head/or wig and Im AFRICAN AMERICAN BTW - FOR ANYONE WONDERING DOES THIS REALLY WORK ON OUR HAIR -GREAT ON EXTENTIONS TOO!

Excellent Product

3/15/2007 - Scott of Arizona, USA writes:

I've owned the Maxiglide for over a year now and I am very satisfied with this product. I no longer use a hair dryer, I just let my hair dry curly and then straighten it after it's dry .So far it has not damaged my hair. I notice after I use it my coarse hair feels soft and smooth. It will take a bit of getting used to as far as styling your hair with it , but it's well worth the money !

truly wonderful

3/6/2007 - Marla of Michigan, USA writes:

i have had my Maxiglide for two years or so, i am biracial, and have VERY curly, frizzy, thick hair...and for the first 19 years of my life i never straightened it, just wore it up because it was unmanageable. So, i started trying flat irons, i have bought about 4 other brands in the past, .but i never achieved the look i wanted, so after watching the infomercial i took a chance and ordered it. I tried it that day, and i loved it! i was so excited, and it was great. YES you must brush your hair first, and it is kind of heavy, my hands are small and i cant really press the steam button, but i dont even need it! I have not even considered using another product, and i have gotten one for my mother, sister, and now three of my coworkers use it and love it..truly a good product

Work It Out

2/16/2007 - Suzette of Colorado, USA writes:

Well I just got my maxiglide and used it for the first time, first let me start by saying the product is pretty heavy, so if you have lots of hair (like me) you might have to rest your arm after a while. Now it did strainghen my hair much faster then any other flat iron I have but it did pull hair out, As I type this review my head is throbbing a bit. Well all in all my hair looks as it did whith my other flat irons, so I would have to say, save your money, the cheaper conair mini works just as well!!

works great!

12/16/2006 - Anonymous of California, USA writes:

I'm biracial and only achieved silky straight hair by spending a fortune at the hair salon, because regular at home flat irons still left my frizzy/wavy/curly hair looking like "straight hay". Maxiglide gives me the closest professional salon looking job at home. It really is the best I've ever bought. I love this product!

Great Hair

11/21/2006 - Cynthia of New Hampshire, USA writes:

I really like this product. It does what it says. I have had good result every time that I use the maxiglide. My hair is straight and it doesn't dry out my ends. I would recommend this product. However, I would love to see it a little cheaper.

straight away

6/3/2006 - Dee of Florida, USA writes:

I thought it worked really well, and that if you have really kinky curly frizzy hair it works better than any product that I have used for my daughters difficult to manage hair. however if you turn it up to 10, it will burn your scalp. Be careful using the steam at 10. try the lower settings first about 7 or 8.

THE BEST THERE WILL EVER BE!

5/23/2006 - Indira of Washington, USA writes:

This hair straightner is the only one that will straighten my natural curly hair in one stroke. NO More blow drying before straighten and it only takes me 30 mins. instead of 2 hours. Thanks to you I go to the salon for a trim, I style my own hair. Because of this I have gotten more than 10 people and counting to buy your product just because they knew how my hair looked before and after with the MAXIglide. I work at a well known Retail Store and when customers ask for my opinion about hair straighteners I have to mention the MAXIglide. So when people ask me who does my hair I always say Maxxius does it.

Maxiglide - The Best

5/5/2006 - Kathleen of Missouri, USA writes:

I've used the Maxiglide for about 3 months. I originally set it too high and tried tackling large sections at once. Result: hair broken off and slightly damaged. After 3 weeks of going natural with good conditioners, I then watched the video (I know, too late), reduced the heat to five, and sectioned the hair smaller. I have been getting great results! As a 45 year old African American with weak, shoulder length hair (due to medication), I find this product to be a lifesaver. I only wish I could go to a "nice" who uses the Maxiglide here in KC. It only takes 20 minutes, but I like the salon experience and I appreciate my hair more when I don't have to handle it too much. The product is big for small hands, but you get used to it. I love the burst of steam, the shampoo, Beyond Straight and silicon products. I hope to see a Miniglide with detangling pins.

Good product.

4/22/2006 - Wendi of Virginia, USA writes:

I love this Iron. I have read alot of comments about Maxiglide. I'll tell you how I use it. I have very thick hair. I'm one of those women that when I pay to have my hair done.. the hair dresser complains about my thick hair! Now, saying that I only set the heat on 5. That is right 5! If I were to set it on 20 like I do with a regular curling iron. You bet I'd burn it right off my pretty head. I also do my friends hair, she has thin but curly/kinky hair. I use setting 5. One section at a time, steam first, then close pens on it at glide. Make sure you comb all the tangles out first. I also use John Frida Frizz ease. That will help it glide smoothly. As allways, read the package insert.. and watch the video it's only 10min long.

A LIFE SAVER

4/6/2006 - Rita of Texas, USA writes:

Well this product literally saved the life of not only my hair, but my 12 year old daughters. It is very good with African-American hair. "The End" & "Beyond Straight" are good too when used together. The only not so good thing about it is that after using it a while, it does start to break your hair a little. But probably no more than typical flat irons. It also takes me more than 20 mins. to do my whole head, but I do have very long hair. It is a little big but it saved me from having to put a relaxer on my daughters hair. Overall a very good investment. Thanks Max!

Works pretty good

2/26/2006 - Rachel of Tennessee, USA writes:

The Maxiglide works pretty good. I was able to straighten my hair in about 20 minutes. But, because my hair is thick and very curly, I had to use a higher heat setting. As a result, my hair became very damaged and frail. Don't try using any products beforehand to combat heat damage either. The Maxiglide was designed to be used on clean hair free of any styling products. The Maxius products may work better though. I also can only use the Maxiglide in Winter because I live in the South. Humidity is an issue here 3 seasons out of 4 and my hair immediately fuzzed up when I went outside.
