I bought this several years ago and love it so much I bought a back up "just in case". Nothing works as well at straightening hair as MaxiGlide. I'm a black woman with long hair and it takes about 10 minutes to straighten my whole head on a 5 setting. The plates are very wide so you finish quickly. I highly recommend MaxiGlide - it really works!

i got this and i used it for a while first of all it really hurt cause of all the little pegs that stick up and it fried my hair cause it used metal i prefer a ceramic iron its much better

I love my this iron! I've owned it for over 2 years now and it's still doing its job! I hated blowing my long curly hair to get it straight- it would take my about 40 minutes then it would be frizzy AND I have carpal tunnel syndrome, so my hands would get numb. So I tried this iron and instantly, like the info said- It got my hair silky straight! The greatest thing about it is that my hair would stay silky straight for over 1 week (I had to try it!!), with showering! Over 4 of my friends have bought this and loved it too. It was recommended to me and I always recommend it. If mine were to break, I would just get another one. This iron is great! Definately try it for yourself!

I live in a very hummid area and my hair tends to get frizzy the second I step out the door! I have spent a lot of money on hair products (creams and blowdriers). My only solution was to go to the hair salon, but even that was short lived and it got expensive! Finally, I found a product that works! Maxiglide is easy to use and fast. I will definetly buy this product again if it breaks. I have had it for 4 years and it still looks brand new!!! I highly recommend it.

My boyfriend bought me the Maxi-Glide because he had been bugging me about straightening my thick, brown, curly hair. I always told him, "No, it would take too long, I have thick hair."... So when he saw the informercial he ordered it. That was 3 years ago, I just straightened my hair tonight and it still works as good as the first day I received it. I love and have not thought about buying a newer straightener unless Maxi-Glide comes out with a newer version. I do wish it was a little lighter... that would be a great improvement.

I have thick naturally curly hair that I've always wanted to straighten. Unfortunately, most flat irons on the market are not worth your time and money. I saw this on TV and decided to give it a try. I love it! I've been using it for almost 3 years and I get excellent results every time. I have shoulder length hair and it only takes 10-15 minutes to straighten. It's important to remember most straightening products out there are not suitable to use before using the Maxiglide. It's just that sensitive. I use a product made by the same company before I straighten my hair and I have no problems. Maxiglide has wider ceramic plates and has one side that is nothing but combs, so it straigtens and styles in one step. If you think it's "fried" your hair, then you weren't taking very good care of your hair. Flat ironing does damage a bit, but you can keep it to a minimum. I've bought very few products advertised on TV that have lived up to my expectations (or anybody's for that matter), but I really think the Maxiglide is a superior product.

My daughter has thick full volume hair that gets frizzy. We have tried other flat irons, and they would take me at least a half hour to get decent straightening, and dried out her hair. The maxiglide not only straightened her hair beautifully, it only took me 10 minutes, and made her hair shine. I think it is great. It is a bit bulky, which keep my daughter from doing it herself.. but it only takes me minutes to do it for her.

I loved the maxiglide when I got it. After about a year, I woke up one morning,I had fryed hair, the whole head was not curly anymore. Just straight damaged hair like a broom. Its beenb almost a year, I had to cut my hair short, its still not gone.I have miserable burned hair.

I bought this because i got it on sale [] and i had been looking for something that wouldn't fry my hair or leave it limp. my hair is medium and color treated, not curly or wavy and I use the iron on those bad hair days. I don't doubt it works on super curly hair-- but for me, it was heavy, made me sweat and sometimes the hot water would spill (and burn). It did leave my hair shiny but a little flat (the products it came with were nice). I would caution users with thin and short hair. I gave it to my sister who has long thicker hair (not curly) and she said it was too heavy for her, and preferred a ceramic straightener. I guess its all about your own needs.

My mother bought the max-glide for me. I loved it. I am very thick African American hair and it straightened my hair without any problems. I would even use it to curl the ends under. It is sort of heavy but not heavy enough to discourage use. I would recommend a styling lotion because the temps should be high for desired results and of course you need to protect your hair. Okay, the draw back. After having the Maxie Glide for about a year, I went to wipe the blade off with a white cotton cloth as I always do, and blue dye came off on the rag. I stopped using it because I figured if it came off on my rag it has to be coming off on my hair. Also, the dial where you set the temperature cracks easily, not the dial itself but the plastic around the dial. To make a long story short, the draw backs doesn't outweigh the benefits because as soon as I am able to I am going to order another one. I have two daughters and we miss our Maxi Glide!

I am Puerto Rican and I have very curly, thick, long hair. My husband and I saw the infomercial a few times before going on to the website and he ordered it from there. I used it the next day that I received it. Let me tell you, my hair looked so straight, and thin that my husband was even shocked. He could not believe how straight it made my hair and how thin and shiny it looked. I think it had a bit to do with the products that it comes with as well, but whatever it is.. I love it! I've used it quite a few times now, because before with a normal straight iron, it would take me about 3 hours to straighten it, now with the Maxi Glide it only takes me 1 1/2 hours. So I don't mind having the "straight" look all the time. I really recommend it to anyone with thick curly hair!

I love this product. It straightens my hair and leaves it shiny. I never experienced this with any other iron. I will continue to use this product. I would recommend it to everyone, although for those with really thick, coarse hair it may not be totally straight. The ONLY downside in my opinion is that for some reason the mine keeps breaking. I don't know if Im using it wrong or if I just got a couple of dudds!

I saw the infomecial and my dad He just got me one yesterday and so far i love it. i have a few complaints it is very heavy and very expensive but it can easily be returned depending where you get it. However it straightens fast and works great. it can never hurt to try.

The Maxiglide iron works great for me and I have very difficult bi-racial hair. I found the haircare products that accompany the Maxiglide iron to be ineffective though.

I got this 2 years ago and they will have to pry it out of my hands when I die! LOL I am caucasian with very kinky frizzy coarse hair. It wouldn't even keep a distintive curl pattern until a year ago upon the discovery of non lathering shampoos. Anyway, this is the only thing on the market that will actually STRAIGHTEN my hair. Everything else just squashed/flattened it and made it look like straw. I get very little damage and the look lasts until I wash my hair again, even in the KS humidity of summer. I use the Max on heat setting 5 (it goes up to 10). I'd say the downsides are that it is fairly large and bulky, but it isn't difficult to use, just takes some getting used to. If you want STRAIGHT hair, not flat hair, this is definately the ticket!

I have extremelly frizzy and curly hair b/c I'm mixed. However once is straight it looks very natural, it just doesn't STAY... I needed something that would help it last straight so I didn't have so many split ends! I got the Maxiglide last month and it works wonders! I would've said it was perfect if it wasn't because you have to have your hair COMPLETELY DETANGLED or it won't "glide"... it still needs a little more "force" than the commercials make it look like... It does work though... Even better on my daughter (who's hair is not as curly/frizzy). Tonight I'll try it on my friend who's also mixed but has coarser hair that doesn't need chemicals but is still afro looking if you don't do "something"... we'll see if it still works then.
