Love it

7/1/2007 - Greg of New York, USA writes:

I think the problem is that people who have a positive experience with a product don't write reviews. I am going to change that. I have been using the Magic Bullet for 8 months now and I have to say that I love it. Now I did notice that the rubber gaskets are wearing out on the chopping blade bases, but they did give me an extra 4. I have used this product everyday for one reason or another and I make at least 5 protein shakes everyday. Now if you want to be able to take ice right out of the freezer and use it as full size cubes you can't, however a quick fix for this is to buy the cube makers that make smaller cubes. Also, if you don't want to read directions, don't buy this because if you don't use the right blades to make what you want, it will come out wrong. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to save counter space and don't need to make a lot at one time.

Recommend it for everyone

6/13/2007 - Kimberly of Oklahoma, USA writes:

I absolutely love this product. I don't buy things from infomercials, period, but I got this product from my parents for when I went to college my freshman year, and I have been using it since. I think it's perfect. I really can make everything that was seen on the informercials in less than fifteen minutes (okay, so maybe I'm slower than the tv ad), and then afterward, I just put it in the dishwasher. And the cup lids that go with it are convienent too. Each food item takes me about ten minutes to finish, but they're usually just enough for one so to make something for friends, it would take maybe twenty or thirty minutes, but still, it's so much faster than anything else and I love that I can just toss it in the dishwasher. I usually make pesto spaghetti, smoothies, chicken salad, or quesidilla with this product. I've never tried to make creamer or anything yet.

Cheap gaskets fail consistently

6/3/2007 - Al of British Columbia, Canada writes:

The gaskets, or seals, provided are total crap. The blender loosened and chewed the gaskets almost without fail even after hand washing (never used dishwasher). When I contacted the company for replacement gaskets, they accused me of having bought a counterfeit unit and refused to sell me replacements. Again, they REFUSED to sell me replacements. Unbelievable. Lodged a complaint through BBB.

item not as described

5/27/2007 - Heather of New York, USA writes:

do not waste your money. I tried to blend a milkshake it takes forever & doesn't work chunks of ice cream left behind. you can only run the machine a minute at a time otherwise it will burn out. Save your money & buy something that works better!!! I was very dissappointed

MAGIC BULLET BOGUS

5/26/2007 - Terry of Connecticut, USA writes:

Bought the magic bullet to make my daily protein shakes, plastic pieces on bottom of blender broke off within one week, and the blender started smoking and the blades broke...blender is totally useless, and unlike other people i only used this to make two little shakes a day, and the blender blade broke...i am tossing in the trash today...huge waste of money!

Infomercial misleading, though product good

5/23/2007 - Suzette of England, UK writes:

I was taken in by Mick n' Mimi's speil, bought the product at full price a whopping £65 plus P&P.I'm cross with myself about that as they're now widely available for £20 or less..the price they're really worth. Having said that it is a good product. I shall divide this review into the pros and cons..I'll start with the bad stuff 1. The informercial was misleading crap. For example, the pesto they made. If they'd really used such quantities in the presentation then they'd have been left with a thimble full of pesto that would have had to have been scraped from the bottom of the cup with a teaspoon. No way would they be able to pour the copious amounts they showed, over the pasta! It doesn't chop evenly, the salsas and the dips come out looking really mushy and unappetising..believe me you wouldn't want to eat any! The juicer attachment doesn't juice..end of! Also, and I'm surprised I haven't read this in the reviews. DO NOT PUT ANYTHING HOT IN THE BLENDER ATTACHEMENT..IT SPRAYS OUT..V.DANGEROUS. It's great for, and I mean great! parmesan cheese..other cheese..forget it! grinding coffee beans..fab! frothing milk for lattes etc making milkshakes and smoothies breadcrumbs chopping herbs Scrambled eggs/omelettes cocktails whipping cream sandwich fillings..it doesn't matter if they come out mushy chopping garlic (onions come out too unevenly..or an unusable pulp) sorbet fairly succesful crushing biscuits for cheesecake bases. It's really easy to clean It's no substitute for a big food processor as there's a lot it can't do..but what it can do it does quickly and well. Mainly, it's good for snacks. It would be great for a student living in digs. Glad I bought one..and I DO use it every day!

Met my expectations, which were not high

5/12/2007 - Tracey of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

Pro: Unlike most choppers/blenders, MB is designed so that when you're done, you turn it over and the blade is on top. You don't have to work around the blade to get your food out. That's what I liked when I saw it in the infomercial, and it's a nice design. It's also pretty easy to clean, lightweight and has a small footprint. Con: Underwhelming chopping ability. If there's not enough liquid, you end up with a lot of big chunks; too much liquid and everything is mush. Usually takes more than the "10 seconds" they promise to get what you want. But if you want mush or you don't mind the chunks, it's not bad.

I'm getting another one!

5/11/2007 - Shar of Wisconsin, USA writes:

I used it twice a day for protein drinks with gratitude for ease of use and convenience. It doesn't like large frozen strawberries or large ice cubes. Our four month relationship ended when the nubbens on the bottom of the blade unit wore off, then the base unit started to smoke and pieces started flying. I have a mega 2 hr. power blender for big jobs but really loved the convenience of the magic bullet for my daily drinks. So, I'll get another one, but thaw my fruit and crush the ice first. Made great hummus and bean dip!

BrokeWithin1Week

5/9/2007 - Anonymous of Ontario, Canada writes:

the black plastic piece attached to the motor is the flaw. It broke into pieces within a week rendering the blender useless. What a piece of junk!

great gift

5/2/2007 - Tamra of Tennessee, USA writes:

I had been wanting to try it, but didn't want to waste my money on a tv scam...My husband waited till it came out in the stores, and got it for Christmas. I am shocked that It does work. I didn't get scammed and am glad he got it. Not everyone can whip up something like they do on the commercial. But it does the job and it is easy to clean.

The Best

4/30/2007 - Khadine of Tunapuna, Trinidad writes:

Just the best, made salsa, iced smoothies, iced coffee drinks, chicken salad, cheese paste and I'll be making much more stuff. This was a good investment, you have got to have one.

Garbage!

4/30/2007 - Chaz of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

Don't waste your money! It doesn't do what it claims. It doesn't even fully blend milkshakes and soft foods, let alone crush or chop anything. I tried making Salsa. It turned every veggie I put in it to mush- in just a second or two of pressing down on it. 1/2 was mush the other half was still in a big chunk. Same thing with ice. There were still big chunks through my smoothie. This thing is a $60.00 piece of garbage!

Waste of Money

4/29/2007 - Scott of Texas, USA writes:

I was so excited after I saw the infomercial that I bought two of these. I make a lot of smoothies and I also juice a lot of fruit and vegetables. The machine leaves chunks of fruit and ice when making smoothies and the juicer is such a joke I threw the attachment away after one try. Save your money. If your looking to just chop things like onions, garlic and hard vegetables buy the Ulitmate Chopper. It works awesome. As far as juicing buy a Hamilton Beach or just about any juicer from Walmart will work much better than this peice of crap. Buyer beware you will be very dissapointed.

LOVE MY MB! DOES EVERYTHING PROMISED!

4/25/2007 - Pranee of Ohio, USA writes:

I have made smoothies, iced/hot coffee drinks, virgin strawberry margaritas, alfredo sauce (yum!), bean dip, sorbet, milk shakes and chocolate mousse. So far, it has done everything exactly as promised. It takes a little practice to get used to pulsing vs. locking on so as to not get mush for everything. If you're having problems or not getting good results, read the manual for tips because it really works great, and not just for making drinks! What a time-saver and such easy clean up! I love my MB and would recommend it everyone!

Convenient

4/13/2007 - Scott of New Jersey, USA writes:

We've had the Magic Bullet for about 2 years now and used it for most of the suggested recipes as well as some of our own. It takes some practice to get used to their technique, but it pays off in the end. The iced drinks don't always come out as smooth as hoped for, but on a hot day taste just as good. The chopping takes extra caution otherwise you end up with more of a puree. We prefer to chop by hand rather than risk messing up the recipe. We nearly burned out the motor trying to grate the cheese for the alfredo sauce. It seems to really struggles with the cheese. All that said, it is convenient to use on a daily basis. It is easy to store out of the way and easy to clean when you can just toss it in the dishwasher. Our Magic Bullet sees almost daily use even after 2 years.

Split decision

4/12/2007 - David of California, USA writes:

My roommate bought one of these, and swears by it. She thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Me? I think for occasional small blending jobs, it's more convenient than a full-sized blender, but I've never been able to get it to fully crack ice or make a decent blended margarita. I prefer a "stick"-type hand blender for most of the same tasks. A word of caution: Several times while "pulsing" a drink, I've had the bottom start to unscrew itself from the inertia, leaking pina colada or whatever into the motor base. Didn't short out or anything, but what a pain to clean!

Bridal Shower Gift

4/9/2007 - Elizabeth of Texas, USA writes:

I actually requested, and received at a bridal shower, the Magic Bullet as a wedding gift. While have yet to try all the recommended uses, I absolutely love the way it makes smoothies and shakes for my athletic fiance. He starts his day with some fruity protein smoothie and end the day with a vanilla ice cream/milk/chocolate syrup shake. For those two things alone, it is well worth having - beats dragging out the blender twice a day!

Broke the first time...

4/8/2007 - Hunna of New York, USA writes:

Got this for Christmas and finally decided to use it March... As soon as I tried to make a frozen drink (per instructions) the smell of burning plastic/rubber started... The part that makes the blade turn, crumbled and partially melted. I lost the use of the "chopper" blade altogether. A couple of days later, the rubber band thing snapped when I used the other blade to grind coffee beans. I just put it back into its box and will probably toss it out when I don't feel bad about throwing away a gift. I bet they had to make a special "Heavy Duty" Magic Bullet to use in the infomercial because this product is to delicate/cheap to be anything but a paper weight.
