My mom bought me this last Christmas kind of as a joke because we used to make fun of the infomercial together throughout the past few years. I have to say that I really do like it, the way the people prepare the foods in the infomercial are for the most part totally fake. If you want to make chunky salsa you're going to have to improvise. Once you learn how to use it for your needs though it's great! It's easy to use, hasn't given me any problems, and even smashes very solid pieces of ice thanks to my ridiculous freezer. Now onto the bad. I don't think it's going to last that long. Every time I make something, no matter how long the thing is on, it will emit a smell like the motor is burning out. It may never die but I won't be surprised if it does. Also, the foods will sometimes stack on top of each other and will just sit there. When I make salsa every time I have to shake the crap out of the blender in order to get the foods farther up in the container to go down into the blades. Overall it's a good product, but if the motor ever goes out, I'll probably get a normal blender. The only advantage of this product is the small containers for easier cleaning in the sink. If you don't have the problem with your roommates or kids piling up dishes in the sink, don't bother.

The Magic Bullet is great for smoothies. I've not had luck with anything else, including chopping onions, spices, etc. Using the stop/go/stop/go process makes a great drink with fruit, soy milk, yogurt, and all. Handy on the counter, easy to clean. I feel I got a fair buy at the price paid at the local store.

I watched this infomercial many times. And then, bought it. It is only good for smoothies/frozen drinks. Salsa? Forget it, everything goes to mush or a paste. It does not, make salsa like the commercial shows. Not even close. Even "pulsing" the unit. Chicken salad? It comes out like paste. It doesn't "chop" an onion, it massacres it. Over all, I will say I use it a lot for smoothies, shakes and frozen drinks, but that is it. That is all its good for. It was a disappointing buy. :(

Bought it for shakes. It is very dish washer friendly, throw every bit of it in there. I also like it better than a blender because the multi cups let you use it more because you can just rinse the blade and use again. It has got my whole family hooked on grinding up flax seeds to hid in our food (a very healthy habbit). I love it because it got us off ice cream and into frozen fruit with milk & a little sugar (& ground flax seeds). The only bad part is that the juicer attachment is worthless, but if that is not the reason for buying it is not an issue. Also I did not find that it chopped tomatoes, it just blended them up. I use it a few times a week for grinding flax and frozen fruit. I love this thing because it open the door to more healthy options.

I found the Bullet was very good for mixing many things and chopping Onions etc. I found it to be noisy. I find the gasket is a problem at times coming loose and and not sealing properly. Trying to get new gaskets is impossible without pictures of the machine (4) bill of sale and copies of front and back page of the booklet

I got a magic bullet for my high school graduation. I used it a lot when I moved to college because the food at my dorm was horrible. I liked it because it was easy to do.... I used some of the recipies like for pesto and nachos. It was also nice because my dorm only had bathroom sinks to wash dishes in... so i could make a lot of stuff w/o having to dirty a bunch of dishes. The people on my floor liked it too because it saved us all from the caf. The nachos were a big hit. However, a small chopper could do the same job. It just doesn't have all the handy attachments to put stuff in the microwave.

I pulsed the magic Bullet a few times to make a marinade with fresh basil. It failed to break up basil so I left magic bullet on for about 20 to 30 seconds tops. It burned out. When I looked over the piece of garbage hoping it would be easy to open and hopeful to find a reset button, I noticed the warning on the back NOT TO USE THE JUNK FOR OVER 1 MINUTE. Well, I only used it for maybe half that time and it burned out anyway and now feel obliged to replace it. Dont consumers realize a blender does the same thing, in larger quantities and has a better motor ??? Why do people buy these ridiculous cheap gadgets from TV and give their money away ???

I use this product daily!!!! Tho only for liquids. It is fabulous! I love not having to wash a blender a couple times a day, only cups. I purchased my from [] - but haven't had any problems with it since I purchsed it in Feb '07. It does what I need it to do.

When I first received this as a gift from my mother I was SO psyched! I read the instructions carefully and have yet to have a satisfying experience with it :( Even a slight tap will turn most things to mush, except for the parts that aren't chopped at aall which land in the top of the dome. Not only that, but it is nearly impossible, using the "tap" methode, to avoid wearing down those little plastic nubs/gears that turn the blade. I was very disappointed in this :(

We were so excited when we finally received our magic bullet. The cool things are the mugs and the size of the unit itself... but THATS IT! First of all, the thing is so incredibly loud it gives me a headache, I swear you can hear it down the street! Second, The oval/"bullet" design of the blending canisters causes food to get stuck at the top; every 2 seconds I have to take the thing off and shake down the ingredients (very annoying). In fact, I really doesn't do a good job with ANY food unless its liquid. On that same note, remember how the commercial says, "one...two...three.. perfectly chopped onions in three seconds", I was so excited to never chop onions again.. so you can imagine how sad I was when I realized not only do you have to cut the onion into small pieces to fit in the narrow canister, you cannot CHOP anything; the unit liquifies everything you put in it. Our first unit burned out, the company sent us another one.. which i put in the way back of the cupboard so my husband would forget we had it (the noise it makes drives me crazy!!). SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY A REAL BLENDER/FOOD PROCESSOR!

I have two of these. I would have three but I was able to return a store bought one. I really wanted it for the juicer. Man was I disappointed, the juicer attachment did nothing but make a mess. Get a real juicer. The blender itself is decent. But if you use it more then just for the odd jobs (like mixing omelets) but it isn't something a heavy duty user should use or a family. I am a single guy, so it's ok for me. The one minute time limit is annoying. The gaskets can get caught if you are not careful. It doesn't always blend everything. But, except for the juicer and the big blender attachment, it does work. I give it 3 stars.

I had to return the first one because it burnt out. The second one works fine, had it for about 8 months and I use it several times a week. I think the bullet can break because it cannot chop really hard food. Mine burnt out because I didn't add enough water/juice to my smoothies so the blades ran without hitting anything. You can tell because it make a nasty whining noise and when you try to turn it off, you can here the motor chopping the plastic off the blades. Also, the manual says not to have it running for over 30 seconds which is true, I mean its very high torque and will burnt out. I never use it for any longer. I've use it primarily for drink and it works great. The drink is smooth all the way through if you add enough liquid. Almost like a frozen yogurt. I've also used it to finely chop peanuts and bread crusts and it works great too. Where it may cause trouble is making salsa and sauces because it is very easy to over blend and can blend very unevenly. Bottom line, making homogenous foods like smoothies, crumbs and such is great with the bullet, but a challenge when trying to chop foods for sauces. The accessories are nice and useful. The size of the bullet is a great too. I keep the bullet at my desk at work and keep a bag of frozen fruits in the lunch room. At lunch I take the bullet, its cup and add some fruit with juice and make a great substitute for coffee.

I really enjoy this product. I use it as directed in the manuel and I have had no problems with it. I do believe that if used for too long the mechanism could possibly burn, but over all the product does exactly what I bought it for and I would recommend it.

I do not have any of the problems people are complaining about - I read the instruction manual that came with my Magic Bullet. It works exactly the way it is supposed to, and is one of the few infomercial products that I can honestly say is worth it! I got the blender attachment, and honestly, I no longer use a food processor or blender, and I do much less manual labor with a knife. The trick is to load the ingredients in the proper order, which the manual explains in detail. If you remember the explanation, it will work no matter what the ingredients. I do have to say that I recieved both the Ultimate Chopper and the Magic Bullet at the same time, and the Ultimate Chopper is much better at the Hard, dry chopping. That is one strong little machine!

I think the problem is that people who have a positive experience with a product don't write reviews. I am going to change that. I have been using the Magic Bullet for 8 months now and I have to say that I love it. Now I did notice that the rubber gaskets are wearing out on the chopping blade bases, but they did give me an extra 4. I have used this product everyday for one reason or another and I make at least 5 protein shakes everyday. Now if you want to be able to take ice right out of the freezer and use it as full size cubes you can't, however a quick fix for this is to buy the cube makers that make smaller cubes. Also, if you don't want to read directions, don't buy this because if you don't use the right blades to make what you want, it will come out wrong. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to save counter space and don't need to make a lot at one time.

I received this product as a gift. i thought it was the coolest thing until i tried using it..it stinks on crushing ice cubes and is so loud that you don't want to use it. the only thing its good for is mixing eggs and pancakes. other then that everything comes out horrible!!

I absolutely love this product. I don't buy things from infomercials, period, but I got this product from my parents for when I went to college my freshman year, and I have been using it since. I think it's perfect. I really can make everything that was seen on the informercials in less than fifteen minutes (okay, so maybe I'm slower than the tv ad), and then afterward, I just put it in the dishwasher. And the cup lids that go with it are convienent too. Each food item takes me about ten minutes to finish, but they're usually just enough for one so to make something for friends, it would take maybe twenty or thirty minutes, but still, it's so much faster than anything else and I love that I can just toss it in the dishwasher. I usually make pesto spaghetti, smoothies, chicken salad, or quesidilla with this product. I've never tried to make creamer or anything yet.

6/3/2007 - Al of British Columbia, Canada writes:
The gaskets, or seals, provided are total crap. The blender loosened and chewed the gaskets almost without fail even after hand washing (never used dishwasher). When I contacted the company for replacement gaskets, they accused me of having bought a counterfeit unit and refused to sell me replacements. Again, they REFUSED to sell me replacements. Unbelievable. Lodged a complaint through BBB.

do not waste your money. I tried to blend a milkshake it takes forever & doesn't work chunks of ice cream left behind. you can only run the machine a minute at a time otherwise it will burn out. Save your money & buy something that works better!!! I was very dissappointed

Bought the magic bullet to make my daily protein shakes, plastic pieces on bottom of blender broke off within one week, and the blender started smoking and the blades broke...blender is totally useless, and unlike other people i only used this to make two little shakes a day, and the blender blade broke...i am tossing in the trash today...huge waste of money!
