Not that magical

2/20/2008 - Rachel of Tennessee, USA writes:

I bought my magic bullet off the TV as an impulse one morning while my husband was asleep. It seemed liked a wonderful, unique addition to my kitchen appliance collection. Well, I ordered it and shipping was outrageous - and then they told I had to buy TWO magic bullets. Why? So I could give one to a friend. I thought that was strange, but bought it anyway and gave one to my mother. It took 6 weeks to arrive and the first couple of times it worked wonderfully and my husband wasn't as mad at me when he used it. It was actually very fun to use. But, if you read the directions, it says not to have it on for more than like, 6 or 7 seconds or the engine thing on the inside will burn out. But after a while, it just stopped working altogether. We couldn't figure it out. And since we didn't buy the $80 warranty from the company, they wouldn't fix it. Oh, and the one I gave to my mom and dad worked once and then never came back on again. Rip off!

HORRIBLE

2/19/2008 - ELIZA of New York, USA writes:

Nothing like the ad. I couldn't even crush graham crackers without the crackers getting stuck in the blade a 100 times. It never can crush anything hard like ice, cheese or coffee beans. The only thing it's good for is crushing whole tomatoes into puree.

Great Product For Some Things

2/8/2008 - Sue of Nebraska, USA writes:

I have had my Magic Bullet for about six months. I love it for certain chores. It makes a mean fruit smoothie. I use it a lot for making graham cracker crust and breading for fried foods. It does have a tendency to mush certain items (cheese and onions come to mind) Milk shakes are great as well. I have also tried to get some replacement parts from the company and that is next to impossible. I did find a good source at [] reasonable prices and fast shipping. Overall I would give the Magic Bullet 4 out of 5 stars. Nothing is quite as easy as the infomercial shows. I do get get a kick out of Vermon and Hazel.

beauty, not

1/25/2008 - a of Wisconsin, USA writes:

so, me and my mom decided to order this product. we got it and we found out that it was totally different than we expected. it was so bad, and we always wanted to make smoothies but there were always chunks left in the bottom. and there was no way to wash the mixer its self, so when we accidentally spilled it just turned smelly and moldy.

It worked for the purpose I bought it for.

1/14/2008 - Lindsey of Minnesota, USA writes:

My mother gave the Magic Bullet to me as a Christmas gift because I will be having bariatric surgery in a few months. After surgery, I will need a machine which can make small portions of very thoroughly pureed food, and the Magic Bullet does that task very well. This is the main good aspect of this machine. However, if you are looking for a blender which chops, grinds, or does anything but make frozen drinks, smoothies, soups, and guacamole, please look elsewhere! This machine does a horrible job with onions- you end up with a combo of puree and giant chunks which doesn't make for good cooking. Overall, unless you need it for pureeing or drinks/shakes, do not buy it.

Don't waste your money

1/10/2008 - Deanna of Arizona, USA writes:

Don't waste your money. I waited about 6 months before getting one as a Christmas present. First, it does NOT work like it does on the infomercial. I tried 6 recipes, and while they tasted good, the ingredients were totally mush, or not fully chopped. And, yes, I followed the directions to a T, using the exact ingredients, amounts, the cup specified, and the blade specified.

MAKES GREAT SALSA!

12/31/2007 - Jim of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

I just finished making a HUGE bowl of salsa for my new years eve party. It saved me hours of chopping. Use a little veggies at a time and it wont come out like baby food. Took about 20 minutes to make. Already my salsa was a big hit at the office Christmas party! I had a unit back in 2005 and the motor burned out real fast. I called and they sent me a new one in days. Since then I have had no problems with it. It also makes GREAT milkshakes. I don't use it to juice though. But if you are a fan of salsa, this machine is a time saver BIG TIME! I highly recommend it.

It ain't BULLETPROOF --- not even close

12/17/2007 - MAGNUS of California, USA writes:

Wow. This product is total cr@p! The rubber ring/gasket broke-off completely fell apart. The black plastic base completely shaved off, hence, would not catch the motor. This all happened within one month after purchase. I used this blender once a day to make my shake. Again, it lasted a little over one month. I wish I had kept the receipt as the store I bought it from would accept return if products are total cr@p such as this one

Works Fast

12/8/2007 - Lorna of Utah, USA writes:

The Magic Bullet is small and works very quickly. It is great for smoothies (just remember to add a bit of liquid to your fruit), and it will puree things quickly--it'd better since you're only supposed to use it for up to a minute at a time before turning it off for about 20 seconds. If you're making something chunky, you should start out with even-sized pieces (like in the infomercial) and only pulse it for about 2 seconds (meaning that chunky salsa or chicken salad is better to chop and mix by hand). I had some trouble with making the alfredo sauce and I think you should first grate the cheese and then mix the sauce or you get chunks that take a while to blend in. Because things need to move down to the blade (like any blender), I sometimes find I wish I'd added items in a different order to blend more easily without having to open up the cup and stir things around. The juicer is really substandard. The pulp just sits in the middle of the blender with nowhere to go and can push some pulp through the strainer piece. I think it might be relatively okay if you are making a single serving of juice at a time (dumping out the pulp between uses) and if you use the correct ratio of juicy fruits to vegetables. Bottom Line: It really is a good product. It uses little space (except maybe for the extra cups and attachments). I keep it on the counter and use it at least every few days. It makes great drinks and purees. But it has a small capacity, works sometimes too quickly for chunky foods, cannot be kept on for more than about a minute without short rests, and it needs enough moisture for blending sauces and smoothies (like a blender does, but not a food processor). I really like mine.

magic bullet

11/21/2007 - Jennifer of Washington, USA writes:

The motor tends to burn out if used to long. But it has been the best gift I have recieved. We have protein shakes and fruit/vegetable blends for our 4 kids every day. It's quick and easy!

Unmagic bullet

10/27/2007 - Angie of Ohio, USA writes:

Don't waste your money! This product is nothing more then a coffee grinder. As others said it liquifies everything. There is certainly a lot of trick camera work done in the informercial.

Good for liquids, not food

10/22/2007 - Anonymous of Maryland, USA writes:

This product is ONLY good for mixing drinks or turning things in to liquid form. I use it only to make margaritas, pureeing veggies and broth into liquid soup-on-the-go, and mixing iced coffees.

Waste of money

10/14/2007 - Troy of Nebraska, USA writes:

I got so addicted to the Magic Bullet commerical that I finally drove all over town one night because I had to have one. I got it home and it sucks. It's junk. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, so I looked up info online and wrote down what they were doing on the infomercial when I saw it again. I followed the salsa directions EXACTLY. It came out like water. This thing purees EVERYTHING - it doesn't blend anything. Don't waste your money - you can have mine.

No Regrets

10/13/2007 - Elizabeth of Florida, USA writes:

While I have purchased products from infomercials that turned out to be total garbage, I admit the Magic Bullet has proven to be a nice investment. I agree with others that it is not the best for frozen fruit unless you add lots of liquid. It is, however, wonderful for blending my yucky fiber I drink each morning, making chocolate milk quickly and for dicing/chopping onions and peppers. I read prior to purchasing that some people have issues with the motor burning out. I am thankful that has not happened, but I am careful to only blend for 30 secs or less at a time. If you make smoothies or mix powder drinks daily, I would recommend this over a huge bulky blender any day.

super cool blended drink maker

10/1/2007 - Adam of California, USA writes:

The Great! I have used blenders in the past to make margaritas, daquaris, etc; the magic bullet is better. I love that you can blend 1 drink at a time, and keep it in the same glass. This is great to make one person a milk shake, another a strawberry margarita, another a smoothie, etc. It takes about 30 sec on average to blend a full cup of ice and the liquids added. The bad. I tried to make salsa a few times as well as other food processing tasks. I find that even with the "pulse and shake" method in the instructions, it is easy to over process your foods. The Juicer attachment will not juice carrots, just makes baby food out of them. Longevity I have had the magic bullet for about 1 year; I have made well over 200 drinks with it. Due to my recommendation, my family and friends have purchased more than 10 of these machines. This is high powered, easily cleaned, very portable, individual sized blender, use it for drinks only and you will be very happy with your purchase.

Motor is not strong enough and burns itself out !

9/26/2007 - Luigi of Ontario, Canada writes:

The Magic in the Magic Bullet is that it stops working before you can make all the things you want it to. 1. The Motor is cheap 2. You use it for 3 drinks the Bullet is gone ! 3. Motor lasts for 6 minutes or less

Amazing for baby food

9/25/2007 - Lindsay of North Carolina, USA writes:

My mom bought this for me primarily for making baby food, and I LOVE it! There are days when I use it 5 times, especially to grind up rice & millet to make powder for her cereal, to microwave different fruits and then puree them for frozen food cubes. After I pour the fruit/veg puree into ice cube trays, I add yogurt, frozen berries, protein powder, and some health food additives for a smoothie for me. I have made some fantastic sweet potato puree in here in 1-2 serving sizes. This is an amazing doohickey for a small household. It is definitely not great at chopping things, as they get pureed very quickly. But it is terrific for smoothies, baby food, making your own hummus, puddings, etc. The grinding top worked nicely for uncooked hard grains like oatmeal, brown rice, millet, etc. Read the instructions, don't use for more than 1 minute straight at a time, and try to not remove the gaskets often; they're hard to get back in place to make a nice seal. Also, if you try to bullet hot food, you'll need to pulse it, then unscrew the top to relieve the pressure, then pulse again. Otherwise you will end up with a hot steamed carrot explosion like I did. Tasty.

Baaad!!!

9/16/2007 - Isabelle of Texas, USA writes:

I was very excited about the Magic Bullet. The infomercial sure had me fooled. I immediately tried it the day I received it. Boy, was I disappointed!!! The motor does not have the power they want you to believe it does. I tried to make sorbet, forget about that, you have to stop and push the fruits back down before trying again and again. It does not crush ice either. I thought I had a deffective unit, but I spoke to a friend of mine who got his as a Xmas gift, he described the same problems as mine. Please do not waste your money.
