I bought this product over a year ago because I was sick of always having to clean a stain at the water level. Also, since the toilet was always cleaned using a regular brush, there was some brown stains on the top of the bowl, where the water comes out, as the brush will not reach that part. The first day I installed it, it smelled chlorine, or bleach, all over the house, so I was not too sure I made the right choice. I kept it in place and the odour was less noticeable as time went by. After 3-4 days, you only smell chlorine when you open the toilet cover. Now, does it work? Our water does not have any excessive minerals in it, so for the bacteria and stains part, I have to admit this works like a charm. I never had to clean the bowl again and the stains eventually disappeared. They say to change the refills every 3 months, just change them when your toilet gets dirty again, that means it's empty. On one toilet we don't use often, it lasted about 15 months. on another one we use everyday, it lasted 2 months. Inside the refill, there's plenty of chlorine lozenges, no other chemicals I believe, so it kills bacterias, but will not actually clean the bowl (the water flow will, but if something is stuck and dries, you still have to rub...). The only major problem I had so far with this product is that I can't seem to find refills anymore. Is it discontinued? Otherwise I am very satisfied.

Don't spend on this product. It works no better than any other cleaner that I have used. You are better off going to [] or getting the store brand. If you want eco-friendly items and have the budget then go for Seventh Generation.

This product is absolutely awful! I used it one time, and never again, the stench is overwhelming, you would think with a smell like that, it would work (like amonia, or bleach) but it did not do a darn thing but stink up the house. What a useless, stinky, overpriced, gimmick. Don't bother, this product sucks big time!!

I got this product, because Billy Mayes advertised it, and I thought he was pretty good with the oxi clean, so I trusted him with this also, what a joke. Where I live we have a high iron content in our water, so I have the usual brown iron stain on all my appliances. I tried this, thinking oh yeah the answer to my prayers, forget it, it did absolutely nothing, I let it sit for an hour, and when I returned, the same old rust stain, it did not even touch it, I use a product called [] now, and it is absolutely wonderful, that will take out any kind of water stain. But I will never use Kaboom again, total waste of money, and an hour of my time, what a joke.

Tried it a few months ago on stains in a bathroom. Did no better than normal cleaner, and worst than CLR. The worst part was the smell, like a mix of mildew and wet soil... If you are a hunter and ever used those "scent covers" in a pouch, thats about what that product smells like...

I have a "talent" which enables me to project my fecal matter all over the interior of the bowl. Kaboom does an awesome job of removing all the fecal matter under the rim and everything !!!!

Since I have been using this in the toilets, I have not had to scrub them near as often....Yes you still will need to clean, but the water stains do not build up near as quickly. Attached easily in tank. Smells a bit bleachy at first. I have had no problems and have purchased refills.

I was so excited to never scrub my toilet again than I was 5 minutes late for work from installing this product! I didnt really notice a difference; if there was a difference it was very subtle and never caught my attention. I guess I was expecting to have a sparkeling toilet until the product wore out, I certainly didnt have that! I cant say it made it worse...maybe I went a few days longer than usual between cleanings?!

It smells like a wild animal's urine. You would probably get more "cleaning power" from spitting on your shower, than from using this garbage product. Stick with the tried-and-true products like Tilex and Lysol.

This product stinks so bad, I had to keep all my windows open so not to poison my baby with the fumes. Also it only works if you leave it on the stain for about 2 hours. Not worth the money.

2/7/2007 - Julie of Missouri, USA writes:
The worst product ever. When I was using it, the powder got everywhere, the powder particles are too light, they flew way up into air, even into my nose and mouth, I was nearly poisoned, got dizzy and couldn't hear well for hours. And it didn't make enough bubbles to come up high enough, so it didn't clean the toilet much. And the price is too much. You can get anything else that works for less than $3. Don't try this stuff, you will regret it. I sure did.

If it is too good to be true, it probably isn't. I tried this product several times, and I do not like it. I prefer the old fashioned way. This product just is not strong enough for lime and rust stains. Save your money, do not buy it!!!

Toss out your scrubbing pads. Kaboom with Mr. Clean Magic Eraser does the trick for me. Wet the Eraser first as instructed then spray the Kaboom on the Magic Eraser or on the soiled surface. I effortlessly wiped my tub, sink and in and around my toilet clean. And to think I used both products separately but was unimpressed but together you have the winning ticket. Hope it works for you as it has for me.

This product does not work. You may as well spray water on your shower tiles and glass doors. This company should be arrested for fraud!

This product worked great on my tub. I sprayed it on and left it for a few minutes, and then just wiped it down. My tub was clean and shiny. I highly recommend this product.

First off, let me say that I have a TINY bathroom with NO window, and a fan that was brand new in the 1970s that pretty much makes a lot of noise, but doesn't actually move air around. For that reason, I hate using chemicals in the bathroom, because I can't vent the smells out. So on the infomercial, Kaboom is supposed to have a "clean fresh scent" - HA. It's clean and fresh smelling like MILDEW. Old nasty mildew, multiplied, distilled, and concentrated and stuck in a purple bottle. I will say that it got rid of SOME of the hard water buildup and soap scum, but I had to literally hold my breath, run into the bathroom, scrub for as long as I could, then run out to another room, take a breath, and repeat. My eyes (and lungs) were burning. I won't be buying this again.

I still have hard water stains on my tile and fixtures...I'm not impressed with Kaboom! I have a large shower and the sprayer is hard to work with arthritis, plus the smell is overwhelming.

2/24/2006 - Anonymous of South Carolina, USA writes:
I purchased this product to clean some hard water buildup on my shower. I found that it didn't work any better than "Scrubbing Bubbles" and was very overpriced. The smell was not that great, either. Not unpleasant, but not the greatest. It is too liquidy, it is hard to see where you spray on tile. The directions say to rinse all product off thoroughly, which makes me paranoid that I will accidentally leave a spot on and damage the tile. I will not purchase again.

1/9/2006 - Dolores of Arizona, USA writes:
The smell drove me out of the bathroom and I certainly didn't think it cleaned any better than cheaper products. I think it should be foamy and cling to the walls, but it just squirted out a stream of runny foam so it didn't 'stick' to the sides of the tub or shower wall, just ran down. Because of this, I used almost half a bottle trying to get a normal shower and tub clean,(it had been 2 weeks) almost chocking to death because of the smell. Way to pricey, won't replace my bottle with another. 409 does just as good.
