No consistency in the product

10/29/2008 - evelyn of NM, US writes:

What a waste of money. I used it twice and twice it stopped running. Now it's broke. Just used apples, carrots and celery. Ridiculous. To send it back and get it fixed costs almost as much as a new one. I hope they choke on the money they made off me. The only good thing is that I've learned that I love to juice and will go to a store like [] so I can return it if it doesn't work. Reading the reviews the quality is highly inconsistent. Shame on Jack LaLane.

Great juices for your yummy tummies!

9/17/2008 - Jenka of Rhode Island, USA writes:

I liked this product very much! In my old age, I remember how hard it is to stand there and juice the old way by hand (especially on the telephone at the same time). I like the carrot juices it makes...and I make special healthy doggie juices for all my puppies. I really feel like Old Hard Jack himself had made my juice myself. Thanks, Jack!

It's wonderful!

8/19/2008 - Amber of Raleigh, NC, USA writes:

I've had mine for over a year now and it's certainly made me appreciate fresh juice more. My boyfriend, who will very rarely eat ANY kind of vegetable, loves when I make fresh juice with veggies in it. Adding something like apples or oranges will help take away the harsh taste of veggies. There are some instances where you have to cut things to get them in the chute, and it can get easily clogged if you're making large amounts of juice. Also some things cannot be juiced in this kind of juicer, like wheat grass. Other than that, the only complaint I have is that it's a little more difficult to clean than they lead you to believe. I do love my juicer, and it's one of many steps I've taken in my life to try to have a healthier diet. I highly recommend giving it a shot if you just don't eat as many veggies as you should and you want another option aside from feeling like you need to be stuffing yourself with veggies all day long to be healthy.

I's a bit messy!

8/18/2008 - Gary of Worcestershire, United Kingdom writes:

Well built, quite noisy but it does juice well. Problem is, when you want a glass of fresh apple juice it takes 2 minutes to produce and 20 minutes to clean! There are quite a few parts to assemble and dis-assemble to get all of the pulp'n'stuff out. Only for the true juice addict.

Love not cutting up fruit

4/28/2008 - Joanne of Alaska, USA writes:

I love this product because I spend a fraction of the time cutting up fruits and vegies. Another feature I love is being able to put a plastic vegetable bag into the pulp container, lift it out and throw it away (or save it for other uses). Much neater than dumping it into newspaper and wrapping it for the garbage can. Comparable cleaning time to other juicer (parts are larger, but cleans about the same). It's quiet.

Quiet and works great!

3/7/2008 - Jan of Oklahoma, USA writes:

I love this juicer. I read one review where a person said they used two fruit baskets for one glass of juice and it 'tasted terrible'. This had to be a hoax, because all I use is an orange, a small apple, some cranberries and I've got a big glass of delicious juice. I love to turn it on and hear the hum. It is very quiet and the clean up is easy!. Just have a sink full of suds waiting and when you're finished juicing, stick everything in the sink and rinse it well. I find the strainer is easy to clean with my sink sprayer. And as for carrots staining 'immediately'...puhleez! This is so not true. They don't stain unless it sits around for a while. If I had one complaint it would be that it does produce a LOT of pulp. But beyond that, it's worth the money.

Great Product

2/20/2008 - Sherry of Hawaii, USA writes:

I don't understand the negative ratings! I have had mine for 2 years and it works great. I get a lot of juice, it has not stained (I clean it right away) and I don't think the cleaning process is too hard for the benefits you get. The screen has developed a small hole which I'll have to replace soon, but like I said, I've had it for 2 years. There's been very few products that I've tried that actually does what it's advertised to do, but this is one of them. I plan on purchasing a new one whenever this one gives out!

Well Built!

2/2/2008 - Kathy of California, USA writes:

Five Stars from me! This juicer is heavy duty a very well constructed. We had purchased a home where the previous home owners remodeled the kitchen. Unfortunately they didn't attach the cabinets to the studs; one day my husband called me to let me know that a section of our cabinets fell off the wall, but thankfully it hadn't fallen to the floor. The juicer actually held it up against the wall preventing the cabinets from falling on the floor and potentially damaging our floors, the dishes in the cabinets, or injuring our dogs. As for the ease of cleaning, it takes a moment to clean but I think the payoff of fresh juice is worth it.

blah!

1/9/2008 - Sig of British Columbia, Canada writes:

Bought it 6 months ago but only used it a few times. You still have to cut fruits to fit in the chute. I think they used small apples in the infomercial. The unit is heavy and the motor is quite loud (just slightly less than a vacuum cleaner) It's also a pain to clean. The pulp gets stuck on the lid thingy. Aside from these not-so-great things about it, it does the job. I've never tried other juicers so perhaps this one might be better than others.

Needs More Power

10/10/2007 - Teresa of Nevada, USA writes:

I bought one of these and I was very disappointed on the waste of food with little juice. The food actually didn't go to waste, I made good soup stock out of it, but it sadly didn't do the job it was advertised to do so I had to take it back. As others stated, carrots did permanently stain the plastic material instantly. I was so sure from the television commercials that I just had a faulty machine so I packed another one home. I had the same problem with that juicer as well so I did some research on the internet (thinking the problem with this item was the power - rounds per minute, and suction or drainage), and looked at other not so well advertised brands. I took the second machine back and I bought a more expensive machine/different brand, solely on the thought and looking for more power & turns per minute. I was right, that power caused much better suction and/or drainage of juice. I don't think it is fair to grade on how bad it is to clean... all juicer's I looked at, look like a mess to clean up, so I figure that is the price we pay to stay healthy... but to permanently stain is another story. Jack LaLanne knows power, I would like to see that power get put into his endorsed machine. If I ever need to buy another, I would buy an improved machine endorsed by Jack LaLanne. The thought is good, the quality just needs a little work.

Love it, but...

9/3/2007 - Anonymous of Washington, USA writes:

I have had it for a couple of years and love it, but it iIS diffucult to clean. My 10 year old son loves to make the juice and likes what is made also. The juice is great and worth the cleaning.

Not as Advertised

5/28/2007 - Salvatore of California, USA writes:

I was extremely dissapointed in this product. It does not juice bananas or pineapple skin as they do on TV. Any leafy vegetable just gets stuck in the basket and provides almost no juice. Contrary to what they say on TV, the pulp is full of juice, the inside of the machine is covered with pulp and juice after using and after my first three carrots, I was unable to get the orange stain off the plastic. Save your money.

Works Great

5/21/2007 - Cindy of California, USA writes:

I don't know what those people who say it doesn't work are talking about, but their crazy. This juicer works great, the juice tastes great and it isn't difficult to clean. I previoulsy owned a Juice Man juicer and it was the pits, very noisy, didn't get much juice and a pain to clean. The Jack La Lane juicer is great, I make juice daily for myself and my co-workers and we love it. I recomend it to everyone I know.

Works Great!

3/20/2007 - Anonymous of Virginia, USA writes:

I just got Jack's juicer after buying a Breville brand which I returned after 2 weeks of use. For the people who say theres too much pulp or there not getting enough juice, they were not using it correctly. Also it is not difficult to clean, just rinse it right away. This is a very good product and sure beats that bottled juice sitting on the shelves with who knows what in it.My only complaint about this product is that when the juice comes out of the spout, you have to use a short glass or coffee mug, unless you sit the juicer on top of something then you can use a taller glass. Not sure why they designed it that way? The best OJ ever!

It is GREAT!

2/16/2007 - Evelyn of New York, USA writes:

My family do not generally believe in informercials. A cousin in the Phiippines (Jack La lanne should pay her a commission) told us how their whole family no longer are on any blood pressure/cholesterol, diabetes pills after juicing. The re-assembly, cleaning, juicing, etc. is a cinch!!! One small apple, one small orange, two sticks of carrot, half a cucumber make a glassful - so what's the gripe about expensive stuff to juice? Those chips, steaks, burgers are more expensive and are certainly harmful.

Great with a few exceptions

2/9/2007 - Dave of Massachusetts, USA writes:

I've been duped on several products including the Magic Bullet and countless $20 impulse buys that end up in the garbage, so I was skeptical when ordering this juicer. We are very impressed with the Lalanne juicer and use it as often as we can (several times a week). The goods: - great juice - looks great (I got the black/stainless steel one, not the white one pictured above) - easy and fun to use (I know its cheesy) - you just feel healthy when you're using it The bads: - Created less juice than I would've thought - Is much more difficult to clean than I thought The downsides are probably true with any juicer (the upsides probably are as well). However, this is one product I could say that was not a waste of money. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind doing dishes or running the dishwasher every day.

Good for Your Health

2/1/2007 - Elisa of Maryland, USA writes:

I am surprised at the previous comments. I think most of you are just lazy and need to stick to store bought juices. I own this juicer and it works great! When I want to clean it..a toothbrush makes cleaning the blade a breeze! The other pieces can be rinsed off in the sink or put in the dishwasher. It is worth the time...but only if you like spending time in the kitchen. This appliance will bring your kids in the kitchen and they will want to drink the juice they created. A good alternative to the store bought juices if you are trying to live a healthier lifestyle.

Pretty decent

1/21/2007 - Tim of Texas, USA writes:

This works quite good for the price. I have seen the very good one that are four times the prices of this. Yes the pulp does get everywhere inside making it difficult to clean, though with a dishwasher is comes out perfectly clean. Even the staining that is make on the inside comes out with dishwasher. I guess people are expecting too much when they expect to clean anything in a fraction of a second.

Good juicer for the money

12/23/2006 - Michael of Georgia, USA writes:

There is nothing really wrong with this juicer. It has a large input chute, fairly powerful motor and is quiet. It takes a little more time to take it apart to clean than I would like, but it does a very good job of juicing. If I had researched more, I probably would have bought a $149 Bienville instead; but they are noisy and cost 50% more. The best thing about the infomercials is it gets people thinking about juicing (including me) and that is a good thing. If you take reasonable care (don't crank the blade down for example) the JLL should last a long time. The quality of the juice it extracts is excellent, as long as what you put in is fresh and good. As far as dealing with the company, I placed an order by phone. After a week or so, I found one for the same price at [], so I cancelled the order without incident.

Waste of Fruit!

8/29/2006 - Sally of Ontario, Canada writes:

This product is terrible! I used two whole fruit baskets and it made one glass of juice! Ok, so it makes fresh juice, but it desn't even taste good! And afterwards, it overheated and broke! Cleanup is a pain. Awful and a waste of fruit and money!
