Can't Imagine Life Without Ionic Breeze

8/13/2006 - Anonymous of Colorado, USA writes:

I've used Ionic Breezes for 5 years. I first asked for the Ionic Breeze (IB) for a birthday present. At the time I lived in a house build in the early 1900's that was drafty dusty and my roommate smoked continuously. Prior to getting the IB I would dust and within an hour it looked as if the house hadn't been cleaned in months - after turning on the IB the house stayed virtually dust free for approximately two weeks. I can't say enough about how well the IB reduced the nasty smoke smell in the room and pet oders disappeared as well. I ordered two more! I used the bathroom IBs as well. The only thing that I would do now is upgrade!

GOOD PRODUCT

8/12/2006 - Elizabeth of Tennessee, USA writes:

we own 2 ionic breeze air purifiers and my husband and i have been very happy i do recommend cleaning once a week which is more often than recomended and you must turn the unit upside down 3-4 times to clean the wires inside or you will get a buzzing noise these units are very easy to clean though and you don't have to spend the high price of buying a new one buy reconditioned like we did and it comes with the same warrenty but at least half the price. it is silent, does clean the air, i am gradually noticing needing to dust less, air smells much cleaner, but the units are quite larger than i expected which made them a little difficult to fit into my decor

Wouldn't be without it!

7/1/2006 - Randy of California, USA writes:

I wasn't ready to spend the money the infomercial wanted, so I bought an Ionic Breeze 2.0 from a local department store. I smoke cigars and only do it in one room in the house. I had tried all kinds of air fresheners before, but nothing completely cleared the air. This one does! I takes about 5 minutes to wipe down the plates with a damp rag every week or so (a small price for how effective it is) and 10 seconds to turn it UPSIDE DOWN to clean the contacts inside the base. I know people who didn't read the manual and never turned it upside down. They complained that it was noisy stopped working. After I told them this little trick, they were very happy with the product. Yes, it was a bit pricey, but well worth it. I'm buying at least one more for the living room.

Not Great But Does the Job

6/30/2006 - Diana of New Jersey, USA writes:

I own two Ionic Breeze Quadras. One has the ozone guard on it. I've had trouble with the units making noise when the unit was clean and I have brought back them back at least 3 times for exchange for a new unit. The people at [] are very nice and if you save the box and return the old one in it, they'll just give you a new one in the box That guy Dwight should have just kept bringing it back for a new one. He cut off is nose.... I have allergies and I sleep much better when I have it on. I have one in the living room and it does the job. They told me to use canned air (like for key boards) to clean the bottom of the unit if it makes noise after cleaning the collection grids. I give it 3 stars because I had to return the units a few times.

Expensive doorstop

6/24/2006 - Robert of Louisiana, USA writes:

Pro: Very quiet, small footprint, relatively attractive Con: Very quiet—no fan means no air circulation. Perhaps any air that happens along gets filtered, but I doubt it filters at all. Frequent cleaning yielded nothing but fine black matter, and I’ve never seen black dust (don’t live near coal mine and no one smokes). It didn’t catch any cat hair (we have 4 indoor cats). It must produce its own pollution, to make you think it’s cleaning the air. Our first unit operated (not functioned) 2 months and was replaced by a unit which lasted less than 2 months. We got a refund. They didn’t even want the pitiful, free bathroom unit back. It was worthless and lasted about 5 months.

Mixed results

3/7/2006 - Mike of California, USA writes:

We purchased the Quadra and the smaller unit as a special deal from the vendor. They included the car and bathroom unit in the purchase price. The mini units do produce some air flow, but the surface area of the collection plates seems too small to have any real effect. The bathroom unit can get buzzy when the air is humid (e.g. after a shower) The large units produce decent airflow, measurably reduces smells (two dogs, two cats), and appears to have an affect on airborn alergens. (Several family members have shown improvements in their alergies when they sleep in a room with one of these units) Upside: Silent - at least until it needs cleaning. Cheap to operate. Moderately effective. No replacement filters. Neat coronal glow if you look at it from the right angle. Downside: Expensive. Requires relatively fairly. Potentially fragile design. Not for use around things that may be susceptible to low levels of ozone.

Love It!

2/11/2006 - Elizabeth of Florida, USA writes:

I love this thing! When I first turned it on, within minutes it smelled like a window was open blowing in fresh air. I have 3 cats and a cigar smoker in my house and have tried the typical grocery store cover-up air fresheners which work for the short term but very soon, the smells come through. This thing is GREAT! I don't smell the litter box and when I come home from work the air doesn't smell stale It's light weight which makes it portable, easy and fast to clean and absolutely SILENT! Yes, I clean it weekly (and I'm a pretty lazy person) but it cleans up so fast and I love seeing all the junk it captures! I can't believe I was breathing that stuff into my lungs before!

PU

2/2/2006 - Janet of Maryland, USA writes:

I have to say that this cleared the air but boy, did my house stink. The BO odor was so strong that when we returned it (to []) the girl said that several had been returned. When we opened the box as we returned it, the box still smelled. We had heard that they were having some problems. Bought an Oreck and am going to buy another one. Same concept no odor.

Ionic vs Filtered Air Purifier

1/28/2006 - Paul of California, USA writes:

I saw this flashy infomercial and purchased one to help w/ allergies. There did seem to be minimal help, but not near as dramatic as the commercial claims. If dirty air happens by where you have this thing, it MAY catch some. So might a coffee table, or anything in the path of dirt. I purchased another companies filtered and fan driven purifier. These work! The fan draws in the air within a large area and keeps the dirty part within several layers of filter. Yes, there is a cost 3-4 times per year on new filters. But, unlike the Ionic Breeze, you are paying for something which is making the air you breath cleaner.

Great Product

1/8/2006 - Daren of Arizona, USA writes:

We ordered 2 Ionic Breeze units over 2 years ago. They work great. we have one upstairs and one down stairs and you can definately tell that they are working. Cleaning is not hard, if you actually read the manual. There is a 2 step process to cleaning this unit, cleaning the blades and step 2, (which if not done will cause popping and hissing) is to clean the wires inside the unit that allow the blades to be ionized. This sounds much easier than it sounds. All you have to do is slowly flip the unit over, you will hear 2 cleaning beads sliding along these wires. These beads will scrape off the dust and other stuff caked on these wires. Do this several times and the unit will work great again. Also, in reguards to the ozone issue, I went to the local sharper image store and paied $10 a piece for the new ozone guard attachments.

Waste of money

1/5/2006 - Dwight of Arizona, USA writes:

I purchased a unit and it worked until I had to clean it. After several cleanings, it started to pop like a bug zapper regardless of how well I cleaned it. I called and complained. I was sent a new one, but it did the same thing. I threw the second one in the trash. A real waste of money.

Not worth anywhere near the price

12/30/2005 - Jack of Tennessee, USA writes:

Save your money, or research other products first. The "permanent" filter builds up residue very quickly. You have to clean it all the time; and it gets harder and harder to clean. Starts sounding like a "bug-zapper" after a short amount of time. I've been at friends' houses that have better and quiter air cleaners.

No Allergies

12/2/2005 - Peter of Florida, USA writes:

Using 2 of the units in the house did not make any noticable difference. However, I do not have any allergies and keep a fairly clean home without any pets. Sharper Image did not give me any problems returning them and refunding the purchase price as promised.

Very Displeased

10/24/2005 - David of Missouri, USA writes:

Very disappointed. The base will build up residue that cannot be cleaned, and a 'buzz' sets up in it. The small bathroom unit actually began to 'burn', scorched connections at the base. We called and one return personnel remarked they had caused fires. They called me three times trying to run down the guy who told me that, 'what did he sound like', 'did you get his name'.. etc. We returned them getting $500+ credit for other products.

Garbage

9/15/2005 - Randy of Oklahoma, USA writes:

Does not work at all.  I was disappointed after my purchase to read that [] labeled the Ionic Breeze as ineffective.   I did not notice any difference in air quality in my home.

Useless

9/5/2005 - Russell of Georgia, USA writes:

I had the Ionic Breeze small plug in model (like for the bathroom). It did absolutely nothing that I could tell except make a buzzing noise. After a few months it would continuously make the noise even after cleaning the blades. The night light on it was too dim for anything as well.

Truly Amazing :)

8/24/2005 - Riana of California, USA writes:

My Grandmother was sick with cancer and needed someone to stay with her.  Between myself and other family members we wanted to make sure someone was always there.  Unfortunatley for me (very alergic me) she smoked constantly and has a large dog.  I was constantly taking antihistamines(I would know it was time for another by the closing of my throat) and could still barely breathe- UNTIL MY UNCLE GOT THE IONIC BREEZE!!! OMG I cannot describe my love for this thing!!  The foggy smoke-haze of the living room cleared and the air stays clean and clear even while she was smoking!  The hospice nurse came over right after she had put out a cig and smelling the air in the living room and said, "Oh GOOD you've gotten her to stop smoking in the house"  Which of course we hadn't lol. I don't even have to take my allergy medicine for the dog anymore!!  It's incredible!  I know it is not just a placebo effect because one night to 'save electricity' my grandma had shut it off (which you never have to do it's inexpensive to run nonstop) while I was sleeping and I woke up choking and wheezing.  Yes it's pricey to buy, but it honestly works. It is because of the ionic breeze that I got to spend so much time with my Grandma happily without the hell of severe allergies or having her feel guilty about her smoking with my bloodshot eyes and coughing. I would recomend this to Everyone!!!

Life Saver

8/12/2005 - T of Ontario, Canada writes:

I bought this product seven years ago to eleviate my husband's allergy attacks from dust, dander and pollen. I was surprised at how much it improved the air quality. My husband's daily sneezing attacks went away after a week of use. I've been using it since. He was a sceptic when I bought the product but now he can feel the difference in the air quality from our house and other people's houses. He often finds relief from his allergy symptoms once he enters our home.

Really works

8/2/2005 - Rick of Illinois, USA writes:

I first notice how well the Ionic Breeze (IB) worked when I accidentally left it off after cleaning the grid plates. I started noticing odors lingering in the air. I looked at the IB and saw that it was off. I turned it on and within a few hours the odors were gone. Just one caveat: it takes awhile (hours in a big room) for this thing to work since the airflow is not great. But given time, it does work. I had another blower-style air cleaner before and it was really, really noisy. The filters cost $10 apiece and had to be replaced every few months. The Ionic Breeze is totally silent and only requires simple cleaning once every few weeks. I just wish it wasn't so darn expensive or I would buy another.

Great product

7/29/2005 - Anita of South Carolina, USA writes:

I use one of the Ionic Brez's at my work. My office is small and work with five MEN. I know when someone has turned off our ionic Breze. There is dust and stench when it is turned off. I am thankful my employer purchasses the Ionic Breez for us.
