H2O Steam Mop Reviews and Ratings

Consumer Ratings - Page 8 of 9

Excellent product.

12/2/2007 - Sandy of Michigan, USA writes:

I have used the mop on my carpet, on my vinyl floor, and on my tile bathroom floor. This steam cleaner got them cleaner than they have ever been before. The drying time was quick and the mop was easy to use. I was able to remove spots from the carpet that nothing else had taken out. Found it worked best to use some sort of spot remover on the carpet in advance of steaming it. I have recommended this to friends and to a cleaning woman I know. Care needs to be taken when inserting the water tank--get it in tightly or water may puddle.

Not worth the price

12/1/2007 - David of South Carolina, USA writes:

The H2O mop was purchased when I saw the TV ad demonstrating "how well it cleans tile grout." The H2O mop is purely a surface mop without the ability to clean grout. The cloth pads; however, does well with carpet and furniture. Overall, the [] is just as good, cheaper and without the hassel.

Good for what it is intended for

12/1/2007 - Sheryl of Iowa, USA writes:

The H2O mop did everything I expected it to. You do have to wait about 30 seconds while the water heats up to make - heres a shock... STEAM! I have used it on linoleum and carpet and I thought it was great. Got everything out of the crevices of the linoleum and helped with carpet stains. It did not leave the floor bone dry, but it was significanly dryer than if I had mopped. What I told my sister is this is not something you would use because you have company coming in 30 minutes... you would use this because you have company coming (especially toddlers) in a couple of days! And it is not quick. It is easier to move it backwards than forward... so what... it is very good at what it does which is getting your floor amazingly cleann with no chemicals... if you want something that does that, the H2O mop is for you. I agree that an on/off switch would be nice and if it would stand up on its own all the time.

terrible...don't buy it

11/27/2007 - julie of New York, USA writes:

Was very disappointed in this product. Does not live up to the claims on the infomerical. It was difficult to push, the pad came off and is kind of clumsy to put on. Unlike the claim that it dries immediately, the steam pools leaves uneven wetness that takes several minutes to dry. The microfiber mop got saturated very quickly. To return the product I will be out $50 shipping and handling plus my own cost of returning which will be more than half the cost of the product. A very expensive mistake indeed. This makes me mistrust this manufacturer who is not willing to stand by its product.

POS

11/21/2007 - Doug of Kentucky, USA writes:

What a POS. I could hardly push this on my vinyl floors, I could only pull it. My wife has shoulder problems and could not push it at all. On top of figuring out what crap it was, to return it you only get a refund for the product not the 50% charge for shipping and handling. I told my wife to never order anything else from infomercials and intend to put a stop on my cc for this order. I am not going to send this stupid item back and still be out $50.

Love It

11/16/2007 - Linda of Oregon, USA writes:

I love the H2o mop. I live in an older house where the tile floors have build up from years of commercial cleaners, dirt, etc. With the first use of the H20 mop, it picked up layers of build-up. After several uses, my floors are shiny, clean and wonderful. It is true that the floor does not dry instantly as the commercial states. Personnaly, I am OK with this.

Waste of Money

11/6/2007 - Linda of Toronto, Canada writes:

I agree with most of the posters here. Mine made a dreadful noise the first 30 seconds after I plugged it in, then stopped when the steam started to cme out. It does not dry instantly as they claim on the commercial. While there were no puddles, it certainly was not dry immediately. It was just like using an old fashioned mop - only with boiling hot water instead of tap hot water. On my white marble bathroom floor it did not dry evenly so in the light you can see puddle marks. If I have to get down on my hands and knees to dry the floor anyway, I might as well use the bucket and sponge I have used for the last 30 years. Knowing I have to pay the S&H to return it I won't bother. I'll give it to my sister-in-law for Christmas. She hates me anyway so this will make her day!

great on wood/tile floors-update

11/5/2007 - suzanne of New York, USA writes:

UPDATE: have been using it regularly now and what i really notice is that my barefeet "squeak" when i walk on the wood floors. now that i keep dry covers handy, this takes less time to do the floor than my hoover. i am still pleased with it and like the squeaky cleanness of my floors.

great on wood/tile floors

10/29/2007 - Suzanne of New York, USA writes:

very pleased w/the amount of steam and how clean my hardwood floors and bathroom tile floors came out. especiallly pleased with the maneuverability around the bsck of the toilet. i have been using the hoover floor washer previously. this is quicker and really cleans. not so great on carpet. it does steam up the nap and will get some easy stains out. perhaps w/the carpet cleaner fluid it will do better. definitely should change cloth when doing larger areas. the more the use, the more the wet stays. otherwise, it dries fairly quickly...about the same as my hoover.

don't buy it!

10/29/2007 - Charlene of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

Mop leaves floor soaked, needed to towel-dry floor on hands & knees, even after doing just one small bathroom floor. Called customer service (a long distance phone number) who confirmed I was using the product properly. Spent $40 in shipping product to me and back.

Too much water

10/13/2007 - Patricia of Ontario, Canada writes:

We just received this mop. Could hardly wait to use it. Tried it out today. After doing a couple of sweeps with the mop, my husband had to get down on his hands and knees ( with a towel) and dry the floor. This mop does not make household chores easier. Do not buy. It looks so good on the infomercial. Wish we had found this site before buying.

For tiles only!

10/11/2007 - Irida of Florida, USA writes:

I just tried my H2o Mop. I thought it was good, but not great. I have tiles and wood in my house. After washing the tiles I was pleased with the quick result, peace of mind that the steam killed everything, however it took about 5 minutes to dry. I think the trick to having your tiles dry fast is to change the cloth after one room, so it does not get very wet and consequnetly takes longer to dry. I will be keeping it since the other way was to get down on my knees. However, I do think is over priced. It feels weak because it is not very steady, and no on/off button. I think it's worth about 30 bucks. They lie when they say you can use it on wood floors. Just because of this lie they do not merit customers. Dirty busines.

Wasted my time and money.

10/1/2007 - Mags of Nevada, USA writes:

I bought the H2O mop because I have a large area of tiles and I thought the machine would cut down the drying time. Not so. It left the floor so wet it took ages to dry, hours later it was still tacky-feeling underfoot, and there were streaks left when it eventually did dry. Other than those faults, I think a steam cleaner is a great idea, so in my opinion there are one of two things that should happen here: The manufacturer should either make improvements to the mop or be shut down for wasting out time and money: Even though you get a refund when you return it, you still have to pay the postage both ways.

poor quality - won't last

9/24/2007 - Beth of Maryland, USA writes:

On my first use, the mop made a loud noise, then began to work. I used it on tile and don't think it reached the grout well (no contact with cloth). The next day (second use), I plugged it in and it made the same loud noise, but failed to produce steam. I doubt this product will last long for anyone! S&H was also a rip off.

Save your money!

9/22/2007 - JB of Texas, USA writes:

In our new house we have wood & tile floors and carpet. I bought this for my wife because cleaning the wood and tile floors was a chore for her that took a lot of her time. The mop left too much water on the floors, especially the wood ones which could be damaging in the long run. It did not dry the floors the way the infomercial showed. Also, the mop head is so small and even if it did work would take a long time to do so. I really wish I would have found this site before shelling out $100.00 plus shipping. Lastly, if you still do decide to buy this item, the site will try to "upgrade" you to a faster ship time for $7.00. It states that if you do not "upgrade" your item will ship in 2-3 weeks. Well, it took us a week from time of order to receiving the item via UPS to get this item. So save another $7.00 and pick "normal" shipping if you do not absolutely need it right away. On a scale of 1-10, I give the item a 3. My wife gives it a ZERO!

Disposable pad get broken within one minute, no use at all, product is a copy of Reliable Steamboy, but redesign is not practical. Leave too much water on the floor, refill direct on water tank is a mess, water tank leaks all the time

Thank You H2O

9/1/2007 - Beth of Indiana, USA writes:

Spots started appearing on my carpet. Time to clean the carpet anyway, so I used my existing big Carpet Cleaning machine as I always had. Spots remained. Ok, I decided to use chemical carpet cleaners/spot removers...everything on the market. Spots are now bigger, uglier, and much more prominent. Ok, time to hire "professionals"...spots still there. Big and Bold. Guess it's time to go carpet shopping. I saw the infomercial for the H2O. What do I have to lose? I got it last week. To my utter amazement, it took ALL the spots out of the carpet (even the "red drink" my granddaughter spilled which the "professional" said was permanent.) I set the machine on the area I needed to clean and allowed it to steam only that area until the spots were pulled out. I did have a couple of small, stubborn spots but I steamed those with the small steamer and then went back over the area with the large one. For $100.00 and a couple of hours of my time, I saved myself the price (and aggravation of shopping for)new carpet. I can't testify about hardwood since I haven't tried it on anything but carpet. Now for the small steamer. I have been thinking for years I might find one useful, just never bought one, so was delighted that one was included with the floor model. I have a glass and gas cooktop that always looks smeared. Use the the little steamer, wiped down with soft cloth, sparkling clean. I fully intend to use it for all of my glass tops in the future. I have no complaints. These machines do what I need them to do.
