Works great -- some of the time

7/3/2008 - Terita of Texas, USA writes:

First of all -- READ THE INSTRUCTIONS before use. The most important one seems to be that the fruit or veggie must be DRY. If you put damp food into the bags, it WILL NOT WORK. If, however, your fruits or veggies are DRY, it will work. The best results I've had so far are on cilantro. You know how it lasts only a few days in the fridge. Well, it lasted nearly TWO MONTHS in the Green Bag. I couldn't believe it. I don't think the bags are as effective after their first use. But, hey...having cilantro last that long practically paid for the bags. I recommend them ONLY if you read and follow their instructions.

waste of money

what a waste! These bags turned all of the fruit to mush! The peaches turned moldy quicker in the bag then out. I will be returning them!

UPDATE

6/28/2008 - Sandra of TX, USA writes:

UPDATE: This is an update on the bags; they are still fabulous! I just wash & let air dry letting each bag hang on a long spoon. The next day, if there are any water drops, I just dry with a towel. When you add your veggies or fruit, don't tighten up the bag, let it be loose. Hope this helps.

I returned and 3 weeks later still no refund

6/21/2008 - Robert Maki of MN, USA writes:

I ordered 40 of them and returned them because although the length of the bags vary and have no issue with that, but the they were all only 7 inches wide and couldn't put in a head of lettuce and could only get 3 bananas in even the biggest of the bags. If they don't address that issue, then they are a waste of money if you ask me

Washing and Drying are the problem

6/20/2008 - Sandra of Georgia, USA writes:

I'm not commenting on the infomercial, but on the product. I got mine for a lot less at my local health food store. I've had great luck with them on collard greens (which I eat raw) and organic salad greens. The bag lists produce that it works on and I do not think bananas are mentioned, so I never tried it with them. The instructions are to rinse out the bag, so I assume that means to not use soap. I usually rinse with residual soap left over from washing dishes. Since I generally use the dishwasher, the used bags are laying around in my kitchen until I wash dishes by hand. The big problem is drying. I haven't figured out a way to prop them up to dry. So I have to allow multiple days to dry. And I have to adjust them because they sag. I start inside out for a day or two and then dry the other side.

They're a sham.

6/20/2008 - Susan of AL, U.S.A. writes:

My aunt purchased some and I tried one of her unused ones. Good thing I did because they're a waste of money. My bananas which I like cold and put in the fridge last a week. I put them in the bag and they were mushy in two days! They sweated in the bag and the "gas" is in the sweat which is trapped in the bag because there's no place for it to get out.

Friend and research say yes

6/17/2008 - Katherine of Ontario, Canada writes:

My friend uses these bags and agrees that they work fairly well. I did some research on them and how they work, and I have some tips on using them. The bags convert ethylene gas from fruits and vegetables into CO2 and some other harmless gasses, but they don't do anything about moisture control. The point is to not let the gas surround the fruit/veggies and make them rot faster. A paper towel in the bag is a good idea, as well as not washing the fruit/veggie until you use it. Some fruits and veggies won't work as well, like strawberries, since they're picked near the end of their ripening so it doesn't take much more ethylene to turn them. Plus, strawberries may also rot a little with the help of CO2; most fruits and veggies don't, but strawberries do. Also, most non-veggie or non-fruit foods don't release ethylene gas, so don't use them for things like bread or meat; it'd just be like a plastic bag. The price may be a dampener, but if used right, they work fairly well.

No Good for Strawberries

6/16/2008 - Jean of Wisconsin, US writes:

I tried storing strawberries in one of these bags, and in a couple of days they started to rot. If I hadn't used them up in another day or so, nothing would have been left of them except mush. The berries were nice to begin with but deteriorated quickly in the green bag. The jury is still out on other types of produce.

wasted money

6/13/2008 - mary of ar, usa writes:

I purchased these at WalMart for 9.99. Shared these with my mother. I tried them on lettuce, tomatoes, and fruit, they seemed to make the products mushy. I feel I wasted my money. My mother agreed.

I do love the green bags!

6/11/2008 - Sandra of TX, USA writes:

Being an infomercial gal, I really, really wanted to get them, but held out since you can pretty much find most infomercial items at the store nowadays. I found mine at my local grocery. The bags are fabulous; though I must admit that you don't really need so many of them, at least I don't...anyhow, my bananas do last longer; have tried it on my tomatoes and lettuce; no problem. The only problem was with my strawberries; they did last longer than usual, but I completely forgot all about them...they had been in the fridge for about 3 weeks and they were moldy...yuck. I didn't even keep the bag; just threw it out too. I believe the bags are worth purchasing.

They work great!

6/11/2008 - MomInOh of OH, USA writes:

I got these bags from [] and they do work. So far I tried, Bananas, Lettuce, strawberries, peaches, grapes, cherries, tomatoes and a few others. Everything lasted a lot longer. We have a 4 year old so we buy a ton of veggies and fresh fruits. For $9.99 I save a ton of money.

They don't work!

6/10/2008 - Julie of WA, USA writes:

I wanted to like these. I really did. They did not work on any fruit or vegetable I tried them on. They were somewhat difficult to wash after use. Pieces of rotting leaves and things seemed welded onto the bags. But wash them I did and I kept using them, hoping they would work. I made sure my produce was totally dry before putting them in the bags. I actually have better luck using the free bags I get from the grocery store produce section.

Green Bags

6/8/2008 - Sara of TX, USA writes:

Okay, first of all, don't buy these on the infomercial website. The shipping is retarded, like $20. I found them online at Target for the same price and shipping was $5.99. I also would lay odds if you went to Target, you would find them. These work well. I think they were worth the buy. I have used them for lettuce and strawberries and have yet to have them go bad on me. (while before I wouldn't buy a whole head of lettuce or a lot of strawberries as I ALWAYS ended up throwing them away) I also used them on a flower boquet that worked well and they stayed fresh for several days. I would rate it worth the buy.

Pretty Good

5/18/2008 - Patricia of VA, United States writes:

The green bags are pretty good. They work very well for lettuce and other vegetables. The items must be dry. You can put a couple of paper towels in the bag if you see moisture. Never buy TV products from the people that advertise. Shop around and you can find them cheeper and with lower postage and handling. They do not work for strawberries, or any citrus fruit.

We love these!

5/13/2008 - Rachel of TN, USA writes:

My family loves these bags! They work really, really well. I love having fresh spinach around but I rarely used to buy it because I could never use up a bag before it went bad. Then we discovered these bags. They are wonderful! My spinach has lasted for a couple weeks now and still is as fresh as the day I bought it!

Really works

Used these for strawberries. Put them in bags and forgot I had them until a week later and they were as fresh as the day I put them in the bags.

These bags do not work

4/17/2008 - Debbie of AZ, United States writes:

Our bananas were ruined within a day storing in these green bags on our counter top. Not sure what these bags are made of, although they do not prolong the life of fruit & vegetables, rather they expedite the ripening process. No ties were used, and we did exactly what the instructions stated. How can you goof this up? You can't, they are a waste of money.

Don't waste your money

4/16/2008 - Darlene of New York, USA writes:

I bought these bags through the TV informercial. The bags were much smaller than the TV shows. The first bag ripped on the second day of use. Could not fit much in the bags either. Wanted to return for refund . . . had a very hard time. I had to contact Attorney General's office and put a dispute on my credit card. Then I was refunded the price of the bags but the S/H I still had to pay. Another note, the S/H was more than the product itself. What a rip off!!

Beware of Shipping Costs

4/15/2008 - Eric of Phoenix, AZ, USA writes:

Shipping is $20 and they don't post that anywhere on the site before processing the order. They tell you how much you paid after they process your credit card. This is extremely fraudulent.
