Good food, fast!

9/2/2006 - Sheri of New York, USA writes:

I have had the George Foreman Grill for a few years now and really like it. I find that it cooks VERY fast. You have to play with it to get the timing right. I read a great cleaning tip: 1. Immediately use the scraper to remove any big pieces of food. 2. Wet a paper towel(s) to cover the grill surface, close it and go eat dinner. 3. I usually need to get up during dinner (refill water, get ketchup, etc.). I open the grill, use the paper towels to quickly wipe the grill. 4. Squirt some dishwashing cleaner on both grill surfaces, put on more wet paper towels, close the lid and finish eating. 5. After dinner use the paper towels to wipe off whatever is left. 6. Use the kitchen sink sprayer to rinse of the dish soap and dry with a clean paper towel. Everyone I have told about this cleaning method has had success. I would definitely recommend this product.

Awesome!

7/27/2006 - Melissa of Kentucky, USA writes:

I love this grill. I personally don't have any problem with loss of flavor. The only thing that's hard is changing the grease dish without spilling it.

I Absolutely Love It!!!

6/19/2006 - Chandra of Idaho, USA writes:

This grill is amazing. Its so easy. Others have said how it dries out the burgers umm,, no Not unless YOU cook it too long. And it might be a little difficult to clean but really so are frying pans unless you leave all the juice from the fat in it. Here is another tip: SPRAY IT WITH A LITTLE COOKING OIL FIRST!!! It will work. I promise.

NOTHING BETTER OUT THERE

4/7/2006 - Rita of Texas, USA writes:

I read the comments that people wrote about this grill and I don't understand what they're complaining about. I own not 1 but 3 of them. There's nothing difficult about cleaning it. Once you unplug it, wait for it to cool a little and use a wet sponge. If you wait hours after you use it or the next day then it is harder to clean, but if you clean it when it's still warm, no problem at all. The only thing that I have cooked on it that has stuck is fish. Other than that, no sticking at all and I don't use any spray on it. The reason that they are probably saying that it dries their meat is becuse when it drains the fat off, it drains the seasoning too. You just have to add a little more seasoning than you would normally use. Other than that, the grill is perfect. Thanks George!

Dries Out Meat

2/19/2006 - Diana of New Jersey, USA writes:

I like the grill for grilling vegetables, sliced thin and brushed with olive oil. It does however dry meat out to a nice shoe leather consistancy. Any product that drains away all the fat will end up with a dried out piece of meat.

Cooks really fast but...

2/19/2006 - Chuck of Washington, USA writes:

1. The non-stick surface is non-effective, and anything you cook in it is just about guaranteed to stick, even after using a non-stick cooking spray! Cleanup is very tedious and makes you wonder if scrubbing the cooking surface too firmly is damaging the so-called non-stick coating. A new non-stick formulation is badly needed. 2. The manual is ambiguous, or actually, pretty skimpy, as far as informing the user HOW to unplug the unit. It says to only unplug the unit when the "power light" is OFF, as it can create sparks when doing so (and boy, does it ever!). However, the manual does not state exactly how to turn the "power light" off, or even when the light goes off. As it turns out, I discovered that the light DOES go out by itself after cooking, although I'm not convinced the light doesn't goes out randomly. This is a serious omission in the manual in my opinion.

I love this!

1/29/2006 - Lynda of New York, USA writes:

My parents gave me their "George" (as they call it) after they decided it wasn't big enough for their needs. I have since cooked steak and pork on here. I LOVE IT. I'm single and it's the right size, I don't have to use a frying pan (icky and messy), it does both sides at once which I really love, and while it's not easy to clean up, I can finally cook meat safely without using oil or grease. And, to enhance the flavor, I pour the drained fat back onto the meat.

Not thrilled with it.

1/9/2006 - JoAnn of Arizona, USA writes:

I got is as a bonus at work. The directions said to cook burgers 8 minutes. Way too long, they were dried out and tasteless. 4 minutes is better, but the clean up is too much trouble. I prefer my cast iron frying pan. Glad i didn't spend money on this.

okie dokie

1/9/2006 - D Palmer of Arizona, USA writes:

Recieved smaller grill as gift. Works very weel for cooking bacon. No meesy grease splatters all over the kitchen and we tend to eat less bacon sonce we need to cut the bacon strips in half in order for them to fit on the grill. I do wish the lid wouls close completely whne thicker items were cooked. but not major issue.

We Love It!

1/9/2006 - Christine of Arizona, USA writes:

My family of 5 has used this grill for about 3 years now. We just love it. It cooks burgers so fast, and they taste delicious. It's convenient to use, and the clean up isn't too bad either. We've used it for steaks, chicken breasts and more, and it's been fantastic on all of them. Definitely recommend buying one of these.

Love It

12/26/2005 - Gary of Illinois, USA writes:

My wife and I own a small GF grill. It stays on thwe counter top and never gets put away. We use it for everything, bacon, burgers, chicken breast and so on. Cleaning could be improved upon if the grill was removable (but then the cost goes up). Just damppen a paper towel and place in on the grill after the food is finished cooking (Close the lid) and presto the clean up is a breeze. We love it

great for one person

11/29/2005 - Jean of Minnesota, USA writes:

I won my George Forman Grill at a Christmas party. I like to use it as I don't like to start the outdoor grill for one person. Makes a quick meal by grilling both sides at one time. I season my grill before using by spraying with oil and place folded wet paper towels to steam it clean while I eat my meal. Done eating and just wipe out the grill.

poorly built

11/26/2005 - Joe of Quebec, Canada writes:

i have used it for about 8 months now and found that the top lid section has a hard time closing when you cook something more than 1 inch thick. i have had a hard time closing the lid and just lately it cracked the top section of the metal. i find this to be a manufacturing defect with the new big grill. i called it in but nothing doing about it. so i am not really sure about it. i do have another unit from europe and it seems to be all metal with out the non stick and is also better for my health as people say it does wear out with time. i wonder if it is melting right into my food also. it seems the non stick coating wears off with time . something to be concerned about. this was a gift and not my purchase.

Works Great - Makes a Mess

11/23/2005 - David of California, USA writes:

I had an older unit and it fell apart. I bought a new and larger one [] with on / off controls. It works much better. I wish it was easier to clean, though. And when you are cooking, the oils, juices, and grease fall into a tray that has to be emptied a couple of times while cooking. You have to place it slightly under the unit to collect the fluids and then have to pick up the tray and empty it, while cooking. It always spills and while you are emptying it, the fluids are dripping from the unit where the tray should be. It is great when I don's want to use the outside BBQ, but messy. I recommend getting the large one (e.g. the samll unit only cooks about 1 or 2 hamburgers, whereas the large cooks 4) and the newest unit you can get to take advantage of the cleaning features (being able to remove the grill from the electronics to clean it) and the on / off / timer controls.

Great Product but hard to clean

11/13/2005 - Angie of Georgia, USA writes:

I have had this product for over 2 years now and it still cooks great. I love the way you can cook a frozen chicken breast and it comes out perfect and juicy every time. My only complaint is that it is very hard to clean and the surface wears out quickly. Everything sticks to it now, making it even harder to clean. It would be perfect if the non-stick surface lasted longer and if it had a removable grill to clean.

Poorly designed

10/30/2005 - Mark of Missouri, USA writes:

Cooks ok but make a heck of a mess. It is hard to clean and the drain trough can fill while still cooking. That make juice run everywhere while you empty the trough. Good idea! Poorly designed.

Great !

9/1/2005 - Anonymous of South Carolina, USA writes:

I have two GF grills, one medium and one small one. I love them both, they heat at a temp. I am satisfied with and clean up is a breeze. Just fold four or five paper towels (right after you turn it off)  on the grill, sprinkle with water or heavly dampen, close the lid and enjoy your meal. Afterward, remove the towels and wipe, throw away the grease.

Good idea but theres better out there

8/26/2005 - Moe of Florida, USA writes:

Nice handy item to have in the kitchen    Good for grilling most items and easy to use, There is 1 major problem that prevents me from using this any more, the clean up. It is a royal pain to clean. There are others on the market that have removable grids that once it cools you pop them out and can wash with out worrying about getting the rest of the appliance wet.
