Not that bad

1/4/2009 - jennifer of ca, us writes:

I found this stuff at the [] store. If you want to try it before you buy a bunch and you have a [] store around check there. The tub I bought there was seperated but with some mashing together I got it all mixed. It it a bit difficult to mold with but my son and I put it around his pencil [] store and getting a few more tubs. They only have about 3 colors but he doesn't seem to mind.

Junk

12/25/2008 - Nicole of Hyogo, Japan writes:

We purchased this product for our 5 year old daughter after she viewed way too many infomercials. We purchased it from a local toy store. The product is dried out, the liquid has turned into gel and separated. We heated them up in the microwave, but they will not stick to anything and they have a very strange smell. They are extremely difficult to work with. Do not waste money on this product.

JUNK

11/19/2008 - Stephanie of michigan, USA writes:

I bought this product off of tv and could only talk to a computer. I was on the phone for 20 min!!! I ended up getting enrolled in magazine offers that took many phone calls to cancel. The product itself was dry, did not stick to anything my son tried molding it too. PURE JUNK.

Beware of a couple of things...

7/1/2008 - Carol of Orchard Park, NY, USA writes:

Last Christmas I wanted to buy this for my daughter. When I went online to order, I noticed that the site was not secure at the place where you give your credit card info! I then found the product at a local grocery store and bought five containers. I had some that the color separated from the pellets and others that were kind of dried out and sticky. Definitely not satisfied.

Very Fun

5/4/2008 - Jessika of Minnesota, America writes:

My grandma bought this for everyone (the kids) and it was fun. My sister and I were playing with it and it's really a lot better than Moon Sand. it's sticky at first but you just have to keep playing with it. The only downer is it takes FOREVER to mix to colors together.

BAD BAD Idea

5/1/2008 - Kelly of Toronto, Canada writes:

The service is bad when you are having problem with the order. I wish I read the information before placing it. Half of tubs liquified so I cannot give it to my grandchildren.

Floam is a Joke

4/20/2008 - Angela of TX, USA writes:

My daughter now has a name for anything that is fasley advertised...she calls it floam. It is a terrible product that doesn't even come close to what is shows it can do on tv. It's shameful that something is made to be so great, expecially to children, when in fact it's just junk and a waste of money.

Color separated from the foam pellets

3/6/2008 - Alan of Texas, USA writes:

My nieces and nephews each got one tub of this stuff each. Like someone else said before me, the color separated from the foam bits, and was just all around gross. Spend your money elsewhere.

pretty disappointing

1/8/2008 - Beeb of Illinois, USA writes:

We'd avoided giving this to our daughter because we'd heard about the mold/hygeine issue, but her great grandmother ordered her some for Christmas. I don't know if it sat in a warehouse too long or got too hot or too cold, but the liquid (color) had entirely separated from the pellet. When she opened a container, the dye splattered all over her clothes, some new clothes on her gift pile, and the carpet, and most of it was ruined.

It's a Petri Dish

1/4/2008 - Javy of Georgia, USA writes:

I Purchased 2 small containers of Floam at [] as a stocking stuffer last year. By Christmas morning there were little circles of mold evident in the yellow Floam. We didn't let the kids open the contianers, but we did keep the 2 containers for a couple of weeks to see what happened. Sure enough, both the blue and yellow were in full bloom with mold.

Floanm Failure

12/11/2007 - Robert of Connecticut, USA writes:

Ick! The Floam dried up and crusted all over one of my child's science textbooks. Floam smelled really bad, and was nearly impossible to clean up after my children played with it.

Its just "OK"

9/2/2007 - Steven of Alberta, Canada writes:

Its just OK. My mother runs a daycare, and bought a few tubs of this product for entertainment, and at first the kids really enjoyed it. It was something different compared to play doh. It didn't have a strong unbearable smell as others posted. The only real concern was that not all the tubs are the same. Some mix nicely, and others not so much. Another issue we've had is that it is now dried out. It only stays moist for about 3 weeks, then it goes dry, and it becomes un playable. Not that the kids really care anymore, because they've forgotten about this product. Bottem line is that its just OK. I suggest only buying one tub, to see how you like the product. And dont expect it to last forever as it WILL dry out.

It Stains Your Clothes!

6/14/2007 - Patty of Kansas, USA writes:

I bought this for my grandchildren. They could not make the products listed on the package. It made a mess. Not only that, it does not wash out of their clothes. It is costly and not worth the price

Bad, stinky, messy, molds and stains

6/5/2007 - Shana of Washington, USA writes:

This is the grossest toy we've ever purchased for the kids. You can not pretend the smell is tolerable. It will stain anything other than skin that it comes in contact with. The consistency varies wildly in each container. Some are very liquidy even when thoroughly mixed. Some are somewhat dry. Unless you are a crafting genious, you won't be able to create any of the art projects shown in the commercial. Decorating a bike with floam? Are you kidding me? You need to get your kid in therapy now if you encourage this! The only thing the kids were able to accomplish was cutting some shapes out of the drier containters. The wetter ones just ran through their fingers. You could probably make something very close to this by finding an online recipe for slime (using cornstarch.) Cut open one of those microbead toys or pillows that have began replacing regular stuffed animals. Mix together and you will probably have something close. I haven't done this but it's pretty clear what you are looking at when you are holding Floam in your hands.

floam

5/28/2007 - Tracey of Texas, USA writes:

I purchased a floam critter kit at a retailer for my 5 year old son. It came with two tubs of floam and styrofoam shapes and various craft items to create critters. He needed assistance covering the styrofoam with the floam and enjoyed adding the craft items to his critters (he made a bird and a bug.) He has been asking for more but I told him it was an expensive project and we would save it for a special treat. I took a star away because of the cost. His floam critters now adorn his dresser. It is not something that I think you would re-use, but for a project was neat stuff. Nice change from play dough or model magic.

What Liars!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2/12/2007 - Tara of Rhode Island, USA writes:

This stuff is such a joke and is not at all the way it is advertised. It is stick, smelly, messy. It is so sticky you can't do anything with it. I mixed for at least 30 minutes and it was still the same consisitency. I even let it sit undcovered for a day thinking it might not be so sticky. The top layer dryed but the bottom was still so sticky. What a wasted of money. There are so many other things that your children can use to be creative. How about classic play doh. I am not a fan of that either but in comparison I would let my daugther run through the house with it!!!

Floam is junk

12/21/2006 - Darryl of Ontario, Canada writes:

The exciting commercials on Nick Jr have made both my kids and me want to purchase this product. I read some online reviews and heard some horror stories about delivery and never ordered. I did get my friend in California to order and after 4 months, she still hadn't received the product. I ended up purchasing Floam at a retailer for less than what it sells for on TV and the stuff is not as advertised. I've got two creative kids 7 and 8 years old who love to make stuff with their hands and we never use the stuff. I don't recommend this product.
