EXCELLENT PRODUCT

10/26/2007 - NICK of California, USA writes:

I am a former resturant owner, and I swear by this product. I bought a flavor wwave oven for my son, and I even tell my friends about the product. As I have an older model with the metal tray, I hope to get a glass tray to replaace it. As far as cooking frozen steaks, it takes approx. 60 minutes, and they come out very tender as well as chicken products

Never Again!!!

10/24/2007 - Leah of Nevada, USA writes:

We would prefer to cook primarily with the Flavor Wave if we could but this product is manufactured poorly and is never dependable. We never know if we will be able to fix our next meal because this product stops working without any warning. We constantly seem to be in transit with this company for our two exact same Flavor Wave Cookers that are still under warranty. In an attempt to make sure we could still fix our next meal we purchased a backup and it broke down too, so we are without one at all, won’t ever purchase another Flavor Wave.

works well, but hard to fit in cabinet

10/1/2007 - Adam of California, USA writes:

I bought this product many years ago when it first came out. I cooked a beef roast in it once, turned out a little dry. I did use it many times to cook a whole chicken. I could cook a whole chicken from the freezer to serving in about 3 hours. I gave the product to good-will when I moved last winter. I like the ability of the product but it was so big that it wouldn't fit in my cabinets. I kept it on top of the cabinets which was an eye-sore and difficult to reach. The units size also made it difficult to clean. Again, this unit works as advertised, but I would not recommend it to anyone who does not have sufficient storage space.

Holy Smokes!

9/28/2007 - Charles of Louisiana, USA writes:

As a therapist and nutritional researcher I was attracted to the health benefits of this product. For the most part, I agree with everything I have read thus far. I use the oven for everything I can and it cooks great. The problem: My machine would not turn off!! It just remained in warm up mode until I unplugged it. Imagine if you left the house with it turning on by itself. Just unplug after use and your safe. The company was great at replacing the unit at no charge (the house was saved and no damage done) So, as any lawyer would say, they have a duty to warn or at least inform you of this hazzard. Is your unit plugged in right now?

Works for me

9/24/2007 - Glen of California, USA writes:

I purchase my unit a while ago, so it is of a previous version. Since the unit is smaller than normal size oven and barbques, you can put a lot in it for a large family. However, for just one or two people this works out great for me. Cooking from either fresh or frozen is quicker, uses less energy, and is easy to clean. I normally use the preset 15 min. setting and found it works better to flip over meats such as burgers and chicken. French frys don't need flipping over at all. Most all of the fat does drip out of the food, so it is not cooking in it as it would be in a pot/pan. So far, I have not had any problems with my unit for several years now. I use it around twice per week when it is my turn to cook. It is probably not something you want to keep on your counter top in plain view, as it is not great looking, but it does work well. If you are needing to cook for one or two, I would recommend this to you.

Liked the product, but what happened?

9/4/2007 - Yvonne of Washington, USA writes:

We received the Flavor Wave oven a month ago as a gift from my mom after constantly remarking how great her baked chicken was. I was, and am still, skeptical of all it's cooking claims, but so far, the pizza, fish, and chicken breasts have baked wonderfully. We found out though that covering a dish to prevent drying out while cooking keeps it from ever being thoroughly cooked, so leave things open. Balancing the upper unit on the flimsy wire side holder to flip the food feels so precarious, but it hasn't fallen on us nor have we burned ourselves yet. Size hasn't been an issue since we simply replaced our large, convection toaster oven with it to save counter space. The ONLY real concern is durability. The light flickered, then "burned out," and now it doesn't light anymore...it just blows around cool air. Customer service put in a replacement order for the entire upper heating unit for us, but we have to ship back the defective part at our own expense. I'm thinking it will be worth it, but am just worried it will happen again. After all, we've only been using it 3x/week for 1 month. Looking forward to trying out my shish kabob recipe in it though.

Works as described but very poor build quality

8/13/2007 - Anonymous of Alberta, Canada writes:

Cooks incredibly well as described. My unit shuts off on its own and cannot be switched on again unless it is left to totally cool down. The dome cracked. The bulb burned out and I had to purchase a complete new head as they will not sell the bulb separately. High P&P for this. Cannot adjust temp on new but faulty head. Great concept that works! Disgusting quality!

A good product

7/15/2007 - Cindy of Florida, USA writes:

I've owned both versions of the Falvor Wave, just recently purchasing the new Halogen version. I Love it! One good feature for me is I can cook frozen food without having to thaw first. I wash and prepare the meat prior to freezing so I can just remove from the package and cook. You have to turn meat to brown on both sides but that's the only attention you need to give during the cooking process. Potaotes, corn on the cob and zucchini are all delicious cooked in this machine. For the negatives, it's bulky and takes counnter space but it's worth it. The glass pan is easier to clean than the old model metal pan but it is heavy. You do need to watch time as it can overcook or undercook. the recipes are fairly acurate, however. At this point, I will always want to own one as I use it 4-7 times a week.

Flavor Wave Oven

5/19/2007 - Steve of California, USA writes:

I love this product. Works great on fresh and frozen food just like they say in the infomercial. One problem I had was the power source went out after about a year of moderate use. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement but it cost $10 because it was out of warranty. Funny that the entire replacement portion was only $10 - that's the bulb and the entire cover - $10 folks. So I ordered two. Guess that means the electronics are pretty cheap. Other than that, the unit works great. Had the replacement for over a year and no problems. Roasts a whole chicken in about 50 minutes and does turkeys beautifully. I recommend this product.

Ce four est merveilleux

4/19/2007 - Francine of Alberta, Canada writes:

Ok

3/18/2007 - Tony of Nevada, USA writes:

Flavowave product works reasonably well and I would call it average. I use it in an apartment occasionally. Clear plastic fades over time in use. For a short time the heater unit hiccuped and wouldn't turn on. The solution I found was to make sure the heater unit isn't stored upside down for any length of time. Product works ok for normally thawed food. Haven't tried the rock hard food test yet.

WORKS AS DESCRIBED

3/11/2007 - Joe of New York, USA writes:

Yes I was curious and liked the commercial..and I have a barbecue for steaks...but I don't live where the weather is always ok for a barbecue or it is too late after work to crank up the grill. So how are the steaks?...freakin outrageous.Yeah you do have to turn them over..(big deal). They are juicy! Baked potato's are good too..take time but worth it. I would buy this machine again. Only problem is the little side stand for resting the top..need a better design for that..otherwise buy it ..you'll like it. A satisfied New yorker.

Love it

3/8/2007 - Jeff of California, USA writes:

This thing cooks a whole turkey better than a conventional oven. I pushed it to the max with a 22 pound bird, and the flavorwave performed great. Have had it for 3 years now and all our holiday birds are cooked in it. All the fat and grease drips away and it browns nicely. Fish is also very good with this product. No frying! Other than being a little to large, the unit is very easy to clean, including the wire rack.

Faver Wave oven

1/8/2007 - Sherrita of Kentucky, USA writes:

I was excited and ready when I received my product. I tried chicken wings first. I cooked them for the time allowed and they didn't look done so I added more time. Then I turned them over because they were not brown on the other side. I ended up over cooking them. I then tried bacon and sausage. Once again I had to turn them over. This time they were great and crispy just the way I like them. I tried cornish hens. I read the directions and got confussed. So I cut the hen in half and cooked it twenty-five minutes on one side and twenty minutes on the other. It tasted pretty good. These are the only foods I tried so far. However, I really liked the bacon.

Awkward to use.

12/3/2006 - Byron of Wisconsin, USA writes:

Have used for cooking chicken, steak, fish, bacon and pork chops with no problem. Need a fair amount of cupboard space. Always a hassle to place the heating unit/hood in place as the cord always seems to get in the way. Have to be careful when washing glass drip pan as it is big and heavy.

Could be dangerous

10/1/2006 - Michael of New Mexico, USA writes:

Initial use was very satisfying, but, within six months of infrequent use it would overheat and shut down. The light would intermittenly continue to turn on. This is the second one I had purchased. I updated when I saw a newer model come on the market. The dome on the first one cracked from the heat. I can only say; fooled once, shame on you; fooled twice, shame on me. I will not purchase nor recommend this product.

GREAT BUT CAN HAVE A MELTDOWN

8/20/2006 - TJ of Texas, USA writes:

I really enjoy the FLAVOR WAVE. Caution about leaving it unattended! After about 4 months of use,I smelled plastic burning in the kitchen. The Convection fan in the head unit had stalled when the Halogen heating lamp was on. It promptly allowed the super-heat to rise up into the heating/controls head dome and was proceeding to melt it, with smoldering smoke and caving in dome. All the electronics were destroyed but it did not shut down the heat lamp! Later, I plugged it in and immediately (without turning it on!) the lamp came on without the fan running! It would simply start the same meltdown again. This product has NO UL Approval visible, wherein if the critical fan stops, the heat lamp would shut off. Be careful, especially after exended use cycles. Make sure the fan is operating. 5-star if this safety matter was corrected. They replaced the head unit for $37 incl. shipping.

Works OK

5/13/2006 - Greg of California, USA writes:

Works ok at best. If you cook a steak you MUST turn it over to brown. The infomercial does NOT show you this. In fact you have to turn any thing over to brown on both sides. Not sure how much money you are saving but it is a time saver.

Best in Class Countertop Cooking

2/27/2006 - Deb of Michigan, USA writes:

I purchased a Flavor-Wave Oven several years ago. Used it almost daily!! I couldn't believe that you could go from frozen to cooked in just minutes!! Well, let me tell you IT DOES. I used my original unit for 3 years, then purchased a Halogen unit. I still have both, and love them. The difference between them is the Halogen unit lights up the food so you can see the doneness of the food. I totally recommend this product to everyone. It will serve you and your guests for years to come. This unit should be selling at a much higher price for the quality it puts out, but the manufacturers were generous enough to make it very affordable. I use the Flavor-Wave oven and enjoy foods that usually take hours and a lot of heat generation in a fraction of the time and doesn't heat up the whole house during cooking. Supurb product!
