So far it is great.

1/15/2008 - Anton of Maine, USA writes:

We use the EdenPure 1000 in a hair salon located in an old historic house. So far it works wonderfully. The heat is even and not dry or oppressive. Being on casters, it is nicely/easily relocated to any area that needs quick heating, especially in the early morning hours. The rep said the cost is about 10 cents and hours. The heat does staqy lower to the floor, opposed to heating the ceinling first and working down. The heat is very even and without cold spots and cold corners. Everyone here, both employee and customer loves them and the eddect the heat gives off. The cost of electricity is still less than pellet stove costs and the blower is not noisy. So far no issues with parts or performance.

Quit after five days

1/10/2008 - Glen of Arkansas, USA writes:

I made the mistake of falling for the EdenPure advertisment and purchased one of these smaller units. It quit working after only five days. I returned it to the company, and purchased another heater at one-fifth it's cost. That cheaper heater does everything as well as the EdenPure. Don't spend the extra money or fall for their hype.

Overated and Overpriced

1/5/2008 - Robert of Michigan, USA writes:

I bought and use this XL1000 for 9 days...... the thermostat was very inaccurate. It ether ran the whole time, or not at all. I just got my electic bill and it had the heater on it for only 3 days. My bill jumped up $30.00 from last month. I sent it back for a refund and bought a $40.00 ceramic heater with a 3 year warranty after doing some research. This Edenpure company are A bunch of robbers..... Avoid buying one of these heaters.

edenpure heater

1/4/2008 - tim of Texas, USA writes:

We have not even had the heater a year, and the whole front of the heater melted. I am glad we were here at home, or our home would have burnt down.

Complete Rip-Off

1/2/2008 - Edward of Colorado, USA writes:

I purchased the large model of heater, claiming to heat 1000 sq ft. I was attempting to heat a 400 sq ft, well insulated room with absolutely no luck. Here is what I have found with the help of my multi-zone digital thermometer: 1. They claim this thing heats a room quickly. 2 days ago it was -5 outside and my cheap $29.99 space heater kept the room at 72 degrees. Today it's 40 outside and after 4 hours of running, the room temperature dropped from 66 down to 58. I kicked that thing off and I plugged in the space heater to quickly get the room up to 72 (in about an hour). Amazing that my cheapo heater could get the job done quickly. 2. They claim this will cut your energy bills. I checked my electric meter before I plugged it in. It runs just as much as any other space heater and will probably cost you more to operate if it's not powerful enough to reach a temperature to shut off like normal space heaters. Also, look at the cord on this heater. They're using a very heavy guage wire as opposed to small space heaters of the same wattage. The only time you use larger wire is when you are pulling more electricity. 3. They claim this thing heats evenly from floor to ceiling. While inaccurate in it's inability to heat at all, I reached all around this thing to feel any sort of warmth. The entire box is cold except for the warm air coming out the front. Then it hit me... this is nothing but an expensive space heater in a big box. It blows hot air out the front just like the ones for $29.99! To go even better.. step back 5 feet and feel the warm air blowing at about your chest level. 10 feet away and everything is cold. Behind the heater, everything is cold! I thought they said that it heated evenly? We all saw that cute little picture of the heat arrows in their advertisement! That was the whole point in buying this thing right? In summary, you're better off to go out and buy a cheap space heater, not to mention you'll save $400 on the purchase price and actually be warm.

Not worth the headache

1/2/2008 - Amy of Texas, USA writes:

This product simply does not do what the advertising claims. The first 500 unit was broken. A month later, I am still waiting for a return label. The second unit simply did not heat a 12x17 room. It is very noisy as well. When returning it, I was told that it must be received by them within 10 days of the RMA being issued, even though I did not receive the product in 10 days. The restocking fee is a joke. They are making a killing on suckers like me. I spent about 3 hours trying to reach someone to ask about my return lable only to find that it is only handled by the manufacturer. The delay is probably caused by the multitude of returns.

I hoped it would last.

1/1/2008 - j of New Mexico, USA writes:

We purchased the 1000xl and loved it. But, some days it would not turn on and one day it gave out completely, just the lights are on now. I have tried to contact cust.serv. but get no help and am wondering why there are 3 beeps when I plug it in as opposed to the 1 when it WAS working. It is a good heater but it is not built to last. We've had it for almost 3 months now and our elec. bill went down a few dollars, but not the 50% the ads claimed. You have got to be crazy if you purchase this as a primary heat source, ANY portable heater is designed as a secondary source. Simply put, this heater is priced way too high.

Very Poor Product

12/29/2007 - Wayne of Colorado, USA writes:

I purchased Model DEL 1000 refurbished heater earlier this year. The first one arrived damaged. The replacement heater stopped working within a week. The third heater to replace the second one stopped working within 10 days. This Model is undependalble & unreliable. I have other ceramic heters which are much cheaper and work better.

Very disappointing

12/22/2007 - Harry of California, USA writes:

Product quit working one week after 1-year warranty ran out. Paul Harvey is wrong. This product does not heat an average room satisfactorily "in minutes". Our EdenPure heater took 2 hours to raise a 300 square foot room temperature 3 degrees. I recommend buying a [] space heater with a 5-year warranty for one-fifth the price of an EdenPure heater.

Buyer Beware

12/17/2007 - Allen of Virginia, USA writes:

I purchased an XL 1000 for use as supplemental heat in a cottage in WV. I had read the reviews about "cutting costs" and decided to try it since it has a money-back guarantee - ha! - on both counts. The unite used more electricity than I have used since owning my property for four years. It didn't even heat well, as my temp inside the cottage never got above 62 degrees, unless the cottage heating system was set to 62 or above. Beware the reviews that state otherwise... they have to be written by cronies of the company that makes or sells these cash cows!

Edenpure make power bill go up!!

12/15/2007 - Lou of North Carolina, USA writes:

I got this heater thinking I would save some money on our electric bill. NOT!! My electric bill went up 57.00 in one month thanks to this lovely heater. It has been cold here, but not recently and my heat pump was cut back to 60 degrees. Not anymore. I have cut the Edenpure off and turned the heat pump back up to 70 degrees. My suggestion... dont buy it.

Read The Instructions First

12/13/2007 - Paul of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

I bought mine and used it in a room with cathedral ceilings, that is a no no. Didn`t know that till I sat down and read all the instructions. I put it in a room with flat ceilings and bingo. Does a gret job and I just ordered another. Yes they work and read the instructions about how it should be used. It will take longer to heat a room with very high ceilings.... Oh yes ,I was a Jarhead...Semper Fi

As Heard on Paul Harvey?

12/12/2007 - Sheri of Oregon, USA writes:

Totally disappointed and out a lot of time and money. The electric meter spins as fast as a 1500 watt cheap heater (tested) and cannot heat up a 700 sq.ft. trailer. When the outside temp went below 40 degrees the inside temperature could not go above 60 degrees with the Edenpure. I am colder than before. Added to my disappointment of this product and it's false advertising I then learned that there is a 15% return fee plus shipping. All ads state "60-day satisfaction guarantee" and upon returning the internet form states 30 days. Then there is the written statement in the ad of "If you are not totally satisfied, your purchase price will be refunded." Now minus 15% - they don't even need fine print. This is a hoax. Great advertising - I was sucked in - in a big way. And still fighting.

Eden Pure 500 heater

12/10/2007 - David of Colorado, USA writes:

Have used two of these in winter over the last two years. Work ok in small rooms, but have had the quartz tubes burn out in both units, and were replaced under warranty. Now one has burnt out for the third time, and had to send it back at my own expense, even though it's still under warranty. I'm a geek, so next time, i'll find the tubes and fix it myself. Definately overpriced!

not worth it

12/8/2007 - Sarah of Michigan, USA writes:

We purchased this product hoping to save money by not having to purchase as much propane. Well we would not have to buy as much propane, but we ended up paying more in electric costs. This is only the start to winter and in Michigan it gets a lot colder. I couldn't imagine what the cost of running both the eden pure and another heat sorce would cost in the middle of winter. We didn't save money we spent more, and its not just us its my inlaws also. don't spend the money, its a waste. The eden pure does not get hot and it does heat the house even from room to room and top to bottom. but not worth the cost.

Dangerous

12/5/2007 - Judy of Kansas, USA writes:

We bought this product last year, and never noticed any kind of savings. And, then on the 1st week of using it this year, it melted the plastic on the front. We could have lost our home, pet family and everything, should we have not been in the room at the time. Terrible! And why do I have to give this product any stars? Not even worth one.

Ordinary Product, Extraordinary Price

12/4/2007 - Diane of New Hampshire, USA writes:

It sounded too good to be true and was. This product couldn't heat a small bathroom, let alone a room. As for the restocking fee, when I mentioned that the product must be defective as it did not perform as stated in their ad, they offered a free return shipping label. Either all the excellent ratings are posted by BioTech's stock holders, or they are shipping two entirely different products, because mine performed no better than a $25 heater you could purchase at []. A pricey ad in the NY Times doesn't ensure a good product.
