I fell for the advertising for this product as many others before me. I purchased two of the edenpure model 500 heaters and set one of them up in a small room to enhance the central heating source for this small area. I let the unit run all night after turning the main thermostat down to 68 degrees for the night. In the morning the unit was still running full blast, and the temperature in the room was no different from the rest of the house. The advertising claims for this product is so over blown as to be illeagal. Here is how I beleive they make their money in spite of all of the returns. When I went to return the two units I was informed that there is a 15% restocking charge. The two units cost $297.00 x 2 x .15 = $89.10 + adders for shipping above and beyond the actual product. In the end what do you get for your money? Absolutely nothing! Pure profit for the seller! I should have reviewed the Consumers report on this product which puts it at the bottom of the list. At the bottom of this submittal form it asks if I would be interested in sharing my story with the news media, and I am checking off YES! absolutely! This company should be investigated.

I bought our 1000 XL just over a year ago. At first it didn't really heat the room and I called to inquire about returning it to get my money back. The lady told me it may have a defective element and to send it back for free repair, so I decided to give it a try. The heater was back by UPS in less than a week, and it's worked great ever since. We like it enough that I'm going to get another one this winter. It uses less "juice" than any other I've had, and it's way more efficcient. If you get one that is working right, it'll do the job and more.

We've had the new (2008) EdenPURE 1000XL for about a week now. I was skeptical and tried to discourage my wife from spending $400 on a 1500watt heater, when other 1500watt heaters (we have about 4 different types in our house already) can be purchased from $30-100 at any major chain store. As usual, I lost the argument, and the heater is keeping me comfortable as I type this. If our electric bill doesn't dramatically spike next month, and the heater continues to perform as it has thus far, I will be thoroughly satisfied. It heats a larger area, and does it more evenly than any other portable heater I haved tried. (ceramic disc, oil filled radiator, coil/fan oscillating, quartz tower, etc.) A fat, warm draft comes off the grill as if it was a large duct opening from a real furnace. It looks modern/impressive, and blends well with our decor, and is virtually silent. I'm really hoping to confuse the oil delivery man. Look for an update in the near future. Cam

My husband talked me into buying this product. I has worked so far. We've had it for about a month, and before we turned on our regular gas furnace we used it and it heated up our whole house fine. Our main level is about 1100 sq. ft. we followed all the directions and it seems to work awesome. Only thing that happened was I woke up one night, not yet having the furnace on and I was freezing and my clock was not on at my nightstand, well the edenpure blew the fuse or circuit breaker and since we were all sleeping I know nothing else was running in the house. So, I think we are going to have to have it on its own breaker, funny it didn't happen till after 1 month of using it though. My only other concern is going to be the electric bill, and I will not leave on when not home, so you have to have some other source on for backup. In Michigan in the winter I can not see leaving the furnace at 50 degrees, the edenpure will probably never stop running. I'm still skeptical. I'm thinking about selling [] and sticking to just a space heater to place in front of me when it's really cold in the winter. I wish I would have looked into the ratings more, if I keep for the winter that will be the true test for us.

I researched space heaters and decided on an EdenPure because I liked the idea of infer-red heating elements heating a copper heat sink with a blower, that to me seems like a good way to heat efficiently. I purchased before checking out the blogs. I ordered the XL 1500 and then looked at blogs and found about 75 or even 85 percent were negative. I almost canceled my order once I started reading all the negative feedback about the heater. It came in and I opened it up carfully thinking I was going to need the packaging so I could send it back, I plugged it in thinking I was about to be disappointed. Well, I must say it is a good heater all right, so far anyway. I have had it a week as of 10/28/2007 I have a big 100 year old Queen Ann Victorian with 12 by 18 foot rooms and 10 foot ceilings. We put it in the Kitchen, which is about 18 X 18 with an 8 foot ceiling. It not only keeps this room comfortable but because it faces the bath and adjacent entertainment room these are also effected with warmed air. For a single space heater the Eden Pure is doing just fine. I didn’t buy it as a primary heat source but just to take the chill out of the air when the two boilers are down during the night. I have this thing heating 4 rooms which is about 1,250 sq feet of floor space not cubic and my boilers have not turned on yet. Its 45 degrees out side and my living space is 70. The boilers were on around 12:00noon today but still have not turned on yet and its 7:15pm. To me right now the Eden Pure XL1500 is a great supplemental heating source. If this keeps up I’ll buy a few more.

Big dissapointment! My 86 yr old dad was suckered in to their advertisement claims. The heater stopped working after 9 months. I filter all of his junk mail now and trash anything from Bio-Tech.

Hi, I'm looking for people who have purchased the Edenpure. I recently received mine 3days ago(1000XL). The unit will not heat a 450sf room, even after leaving the unit on for 2days, my $25 [] heater heats the room just as well as this unit! I want to form a class suit again Edenpure for advertising lies, its like a car dealer telling me the car gets 80MPG but really gets only 15MPG! LIES!!!! please email me with your story with contact info.

Apparently many of these customers know how to read directions. I purchased an Edenpure 1000 for my basement and my 1st floor and once I set the thermostat, they worked magically and my heating bills were much much less and my electric bill was about the same, just like the infomercial says!!! My furnace kicks on very infrequently. This is a wonderful product and paid for itself in a couple months.

I bought one last year, put it in my family room. I have a big house, my budget heat was $196--since using this heater my budget has dropped to $132--just got two more-love this thing. I have asthma and have not had an attack since switching to Endepure. I had other heaters-got rid of those. It doesn't have a dry heat, and circulates evenly around the room. I would recommend it.

Plain and simple, it does not do what the manufacturer claims, plus my electric bill went up way up! Do not waste your money!

I purchased the eden pure LED 1500 and 500 models and I am very disappointed with them. Living in SC in October, the weather has not been cold only a little cool at night. I used the 500 model in my small bedroom and after a couple of hours my room was still cool as if I never turned it on. I then unpluged the 500 and turned on my little $20 ceramic heater and I was warm in 10 minutes. The 1500 model did warm my living room but not toasty warm even on a cool day. I'm sending them back for a refund and I will purchase some better heaters before it gets cold.

We bought this 500 heater last year, but didn't really use it until last month! Just quit one day! The "rocker" button stays lit, but no heat & no fan! I should have read the reviews before we purchased! I called, they said to send back for a replacement..will see if they will upgrade, because of the shipping cost! If we get a better one, I hope it works better than this, but the reviews don't sound encouraging!

I recently got an EdenPURE 1000 heater, and it works very well. I like that it's quiet, can be placed anywhere, is safe for my dogs, and doesn't dry the air.

We have the 1500 Sun Twin at our home. It is quick to heat up any room we stick it in and it remains cool on the outside. It is an excellent product for quick heating any room - however - these are not meant to replace all of your existing heating sources. Yes, it does appear to use less electricty - certainly less than the 1600w oil filled heater we used prior. All in all - this is a good product, but I'd say you'd probably not recoup the cost until at last a year depending on where you live.

this product does not perform well at all. We were trying to heat a room 12 x 17 with the model 500. only heated a small area out from the heater. very disappointed with their claims and will no longer believe Paul Harvey's commercials! Sent it back and at the shipper they said they received 20 other units to return!

This heater was unable to heat a 360 square foot room. I purchased the Edenpure 1000. The unit was meant to heat a room of 1000 square feet. It was unable to heat a 360 square feet room

First unit did not work. Sent it back and got another one. The second one cannot even heat up a 300 square foot room. The unit never reaches a temperature to shut off. It runs constantly. This does not save any money because it is not efficient. Remote does not work. Have contacted the company and left several messages. Finally someone answered the phone and said a replacement remote would be sent immediately. That was 3 weeks ago. I have now sent emails. No response as of today. Very disappointed. Hopefully, this issue can be resolved or we can get our $499.00 back. Unit does not work as advertised.

I feel impelled to reiterate the bad reviews already prevalent at this web site. I emailed the company to ask why it didn't do what it said it would and they sent back an offer to by another one. This is capitalism at its worst, and this web site offers a bit of redress. I believe it is possible to make an honest living. Eden Pure shame on you.

The first heater ran 1 month so after sending it back and finally getting another the same thing happened again.I must admit the type of heat felt pretty good only short lived.I think the heating element goes bad quickly. So after calling and saying give me a refund she says i am past refund time so they send me a refurbished one this time and it ran about 2 weeks. They win and i put the thing in the trash and lose 300 bucks.I will not go through this b.s. again.Gary

We purchased this product because of the glowing endorsement on the radio. I have tried this heater in several locations in my home and it heats none of them. I called the company this morning they were very gracious and told me to return it for a refund.
