junk

9/7/2008 - Dan of Hawaii, USA writes:

I had this drill for about 6 months. It does not drive the second drive anymore. The gears are worn out. A total waste of $. It is better to purchase a good drill and change bits if neccesarry. I have been unable to get this drill fixed, find an adress or get any response at all. do not buy Dan Kuhn

don't buy !

9/2/2008 - Robert Warren of Ca, United States writes:

I bought this unit in 2005, and has been in use under general homeowner conditions. But now, just as I really need it, it Died. Two batteries, but neither turns it on, and both charged. Suspect broken internally. No customer support, except, that I did get a response from a not-too-happy email. I'm waiting for the promised help. If successful, I will post more. Would not buy another. bob w , Fontana, Ca.

Cheaply Made

8/28/2008 - Mario of Texas, USA writes:

Well I bought the drill the first time I saw it On tv. exoecting quality. I was at the time Looking to buy a [], they have great torque and built to last and are made for extreme heavy use. This Dual head mansield drill is not made for heavy use. I wore it out in two weeks time building my Patio Deck. It still works, but the head has to much play, if i Put enough pressure on it while installing a screw the head will rotate disengaging. Boy did i make a mistake. Nothing made in china is made to last. Well my warranty is over and I opened it up. Lone behold Plastic pieces to control the drive and the rotation including locking the head in place. No wonder it did not last. the only thing good about it, the exterior is in fact durable. It does not break if you drop it. At least so far when I droped it has not broken. This drill belongs in the []. Only made for extreme light use. value should not be more that $19.00 because it is Very cheaply made componants. Buy [] you wont be disapointed. Note. This an honest remark coming from an excontractor, Now an electronic tech with mechanical experience. If you ask the contractors that bought them for heavy use you will find that they will agree.

good household product

11/21/2007 - Ray of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

Anyone who thought they were getting an 18 volt DeWalt for this price has a loose screw. Not for a contractor, but perfect for most jobs around the house. I've had mine for about a year and have had no problems. (I did go out and buy some descent bits though)

Short life expectancy.

8/24/2007 - Gilbert of Maine, USA writes:

I purchased one of these drills about 6 mons. ago. I do not use it dailey or under heavy loads, just what I consider normal use. Now the battery won't hold it's charge and it seems the drill it self is dead. (i.e the gears are stripped). Unfortunly for me it only has a 30 day warranty from date of purchase. So buyer beware!

Great idea-very bad product

7/19/2007 - Roger of Massachusetts, USA writes:

After viewing infomercial, it seemed like a great tool. I ordered one along with an extra battery. They sent me the drill as ordered but sent me an extra charger..not an extra battery. What??? In addition, I used the unit twice and on the third use, the motor shorted out and smoked up. The Mansfield Dual Drill really is a piece of garbage.

I loved it

5/19/2007 - Dallas of Texas, USA writes:

I ran across this drill at ******* sitting in the discount bin. The price on it was $40. I asked the manager what was wrong with it and he told me that one of the battery packs was missing. Hmm $40 for something that cost over $120.00 because one of the batteries was missing. Couldn't pass it up. I have been using this drill for over 6 months now. This one has a clutch that dials 1-19. The one problem that I had was at first I kept twisting off the heads of the screws until I got the clutch adjusted right. I can't believe how long this battery lasts. I can use it all day and charge it at night. The battery died on me maybe once or twice. I just finished a 8' x 8' addition to the back of my house and a 185' panel fence using this drill. I have used 1 1/2" spade bits, a socket to screw 3/8" x 4" lag bolt in a 4" x 4" and 1/2" masonary bits. I can say that I'm very happy with this drill. But I'm also sad to say that I lost this drill today. I was drilling a 3/4" hole through a 4" x 4" when I got the bit jammed and I stripped the clutch. I was on the web today looking for a place to repair it when I found this site.

Worked fine for me

4/27/2007 - Jim of New York, USA writes:

I build sets on a theatre stage and thought the dual bits would be great. I bought the dual drill 2 years ago and have only praise for it. The only problem I have is that it is unbalanced and falls quite often.

Junk - Class action suit

2/10/2007 - Jason of Colorado, USA writes:

The drill is heavy. It did not come with a manual or invoice. I ordered it in December and received it in March. The drill chucks feel cheap and have a lot of play as you turn them. The motor is weak. This product is not good for drilling through 1/4 inch soft steel plate. I paid for this and they are trying to triple bill me for this junk. Their contact info is at []

Bad product and incomplete delivery!!!

1/10/2007 - Ruben of California, USA writes:

I just received my Dual Drill. Worst than a bad toy!!! and the most dissapointing issue, they promise to deliver free drills, and nothing came with the package. No phone numbers, no customer service instructions and no real guarantee. Unfortunately "as seen on TV" will remind me from now on as a Rip Off. Why is this allowed??

This product is a total rip off. No return info provided, customer service number does not answer. how do people get away with ripping off the public this way? My dad purchased this and he is 83 and still believes that there is honesty and justice. guess i will absorb his loss from scam that is allowed. this product is good for nothing.

Avoid at all cost

11/19/2006 - Shane of Oklahoma, USA writes:

I ordered this dual drill towards the begining of 2006 and received it about 4 monthe later. After trying around the house I found it wasnt bad. After trying it on larger projects I found it does not live up to the hype shown on t.v. I dropped it from a height of about 3 feet and the dual heads broke off. If anyony knows how to return this I would appreciate the info. I agree with a class action.
