I like Direct Buy and should be heard

9/30/2008 - John of New York, USA writes:

I have been a member of Direct Buy since 2003. We, my wife and kids, have nothing but good things to say about them. They did nothing but save us money. Yes I joined and paid a fee to buy at cost. I dont know anyone who can buy at cost for free. Yes, shipping is part of buying at cost. You think these things get shipped for free too? As for handeling, its only on certain items, not on electronics or aplliances, since these products dont save you much since that market is always changing (think coomputers today then next month change in price). All other goods, for home such as liughting, hand tied asian rugs, furniture roofing plumbing, the savings are real.Bottom line, I dont waste my time shopping sales, me and my wife buy with confidence. They are who they say they are. They sell at cost. I never had a problem in NY Direct Buy.

It Worked For US

9/25/2008 - Brian of CA, Los Angeles writes:

Yes it is a big decision and it's not for everyone. If you're just going to buy pillows and blankets then it not for you. We completely remodeled our kitchen. After getting quotes from everything from new cabinets to re-facing our old ones we went to Direct Buy. We bought new high quality cabinets for less then the price of re-facing the old ones. The staff at our center could not be more helpful.

The Good, The Bad, The Unknown

9/22/2008 - Paul of Minnesota, USA writes:

Direct Buy, We became members 1 month ago. We are planning a Kitchen remodeling project. The Good: 1)Large number of Manufacturers books are available. Prices 15%-50% off retail. 2)We saved 20% off our major Kitchen appliances. 3)Our Sales Rep let us see the prices of the appliances we wanted to buy BEFORE we committed to membership. The Bad: 1) Large upfront cost. 2) Not an ideal environment for shopping. Know the model numbers of what you want to get PRIOR to going to the showroom to order. 3) You need to go to the showroom to order items. The Unknown: 1) We haven't taken delivery on our appliances yet, so we don't know how hard/easy it's going to be. 2) We haven't had to return anything, so we don't know how hard/easy it's going to be. 3 Stars for now. I will update once I go through the delivery process.

I love Direct Buy

9/20/2008 - lisa of arkansas, United States writes:

I have never had a problem with DB. Have you been to Ashley's furniture store? I can get everything at DB half of what they sell in the store. Lawm mower 1/3 off of Wal Mart price and that included shipping & handling fee. I cant list all that i have bought from DB. I check out the items in the stores and then purchase same at DB that is how I know exactly what I am getting and how much savings.

Pretty Good

8/31/2008 - Roni of Maryland, USA writes:

Direct Buy works and is a good buy IF you are interested in HIGH END Products. I purchased new home and only wanted top quality products. I always found a huge savings on those products when compared to the prices at a department store or boutique. I did purchase a product that I could have gotten from [] and found I didn't really save and it took longer for me to get it. The only down side is that you are still purchasing from the manufacture and have no control over when you get the products, they can ask for an update, but that's it. Shipping does seem high but most times I got a refund because it is just an estimate. You do have to take a lot of time to search all the many products to make sure you get exactly what you want. The center where I am the people their are nice and willing to help if they have time. You can get just about anything from them. But just like with coupons. Just because you have the coupon, you should buy the items unless you need them. Just because something is on sale doesn't mean you should get it. I have gotten washer, dryer, granite countertops, wine cooler, convection oven hood range, family room furniture, morning room furniture, parlor furniture and love it all! Just be prepared to have a handyman on hand because unlike purchasing from a department store where they deliver and/or set up, your on your own!

DirectBuy is for Real

8/28/2008 - Michele of Florida, USA writes:

I joined directbuy 3 years ago and have saved my membership fee several times over.I have purchase baby furniture as well as furniture as well as other pieces of furniture.I have replaced flooring throughout the home and saved several thousand dollars.I have since relocated to Tampa Fl and have been pleasently suprised out how easy it is to transfer from one center to another. I would recommend Directbuy to anyone who is making purchases whether they are large or small. Where else can you get to select from over 700 well known brands of merchandise.

Good for me, not for everyone

8/25/2008 - Darlene of Illinois, USA writes:

As a designer I have some insight and privileges others don't, I already can buy at below retail. I also know the frustrations of trying to buy custom furnishings as a designer. As a direct buy member I can purchase at even lower costs than from design showrooms and I have a greater variety of products to choose from for myself. If you are educated about having to order custom furnishings you know how difficult it is to get product in a timely basis and without damage. Every piece of furniture I have ever received for myself or a client no matter where it was ordered from comes in damaged. Blame the shippers not the ordering source. My husband and I have been members for 9 years. Our location has had many of the same people since we joined. Some more helpful than others. It is not for everyone you must have patience and perseverance. Saving money isn't free!

SAVED THOUSANDS

8/24/2008 - Mathew of Ontario, Canada writes:

Hi, I've been a member for over one year and have saved $$$$$$$ on A/C, patio furniture, interlock stone, pool cover, BBQ, luggage, two watches, espresso maker, LCD TV, flooring and bathroom fixtures for finishing my basement. Easily saved more then $20,000 in just over one year. Sometimes a bit annoying having to wait for things, but $20,000 after tax, that's almost a half years pay (after tax) for me. Yes I had to borrow money to finish my basement and buy some of those things, but I borrowed $20,000 less. The interest saved paid for the membership. I knew before I went to the store I had to decide. They sent an information booklet in the mail that explained the process. I guess some people don't read the information they send before visiting. works for me

8/13/2008 - Carl of Ontario, Canada writes:

I was very sceptical at the information session that I attended but afterwards was only upset that I had not joined a few years before. On one (major) purchase I saved well more than the cost of membership. If I had been a member when I re-did my bathroom and kitchen, not only would I have had lower prices but the quality would have been much better. If you have a lot of buying to do in the next 10 years...do give it consideration.

Amazing!!!

8/11/2008 - Jennifer of California, USA writes:

I love, love, love DirectBuy. I went through an Open house presentation a few weeks ago. I brought them a quote for 24,000 Dollars to remodel my two small bathrooms. Through DirectBuy it came out to be just under 8,000 dollars. My cabinets are ordered, my tile, and my quartz. They have installers, and designers. They make it so easy to shop and save money! So even though you have to pay a membership fee you'll still came out ahead. And all the money I'll be saving in the future is just icing on the cake!

Best Thing I Ever Did!

8/8/2008 - Denise of Alabama, USA writes:

I worked at a funiture store locally. We charged (Cost)x(10% for shipping)x2+delivery. If we paid $100 we sold it for $220+delivery. The Direct Buy infomercial appealed to me. I was skeptical prices weren't actally cost, but I would know if they weren't. They allowed us to peek at some manufactures for prices. I was convienced the minute I saw the cost prices, they were exactly what we received from manufactures where I worked. Hugh savings! Now I can get anything for my entire home. We made our money back on our first purchase(engagement ring). We registered for wedding gifts with Direct Buy. Since purchased many more things jewelry, tables, bedding, luggage and small appliances. We are now looking into entertainment centers and the electronics. The customer service is great. They help you find what works best for you because they aren't commissioned. I just can't say enough wonderfull things about Direct Buy!

Member for one year.

8/1/2008 - Mike of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

My wife and I joined a year ago after the purchase of our house, seeing a number of large furniture purchases. To date, we easily save a couple of thousand on the best prices at local stores. Not everything is cheaper, compared to sales at stores, but they were up front about that. Customer service does lack becouse they can't hire people who know everything about the thousands of products. But if your like me, you often know more about the thing your going to buy than the kid at the store anyway. We go to the center, sit down with free coffee and doughnuts, write up the slip and order. They admitted in the seminar and I agree, if you don't see 10-20k of purchases in the next couple of years, it may not be for you.
