Good product if you have a common skin tone

I had heard nothing but good about Bare Minerals and decided to give it a try too. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a shade of their foundation which worked with my extra-fair skin tone. The starter kit did not come with the fairest shade Bare Minerals offers, I purchased the fairest shade separately. Even the fairest shade was too dark and had an unnatural orange or yellow undertone on my skin. I tried different application methods but just could not make the foundation work for me. A friend of mine who also has extra fair skin had the same problem with Bare Minerals. We both wound up going with another brand of mineral makeup that has a very broad range of extra fair shades. The brushes that come with the Bare Minerals starter kit are the quality I would expect to find in that price range. I also like the eyeshadows and warmth and mineral veil. Bare Minerals didn't cause any breakouts or irritation on my skin, and stayed fresh looking and did not get cakey or greasy in hot humid weather. Unfortunately, they just don't offer a wide enough color range to work with all skin tones.
It's actually pretty good...

I honestly thought it was going to be a load of crap, but in actual reality its awesome! It bleads so well and is oil free! Plus it doesnt come off when I go to the gym! I highly recommend it!

Warning! If you are having a severe allergic reaction to this produce - GOOD LUCK. I used this product for about 2 months. During that period, there were noticeably larger pores, I had severe cystic acne on my forehead, temples, cheek bones, as well as my jawline. This happened around April of 2007. It took 4 MONTHS for my acne to go away, and after it was finally gone - I was left with very severe hyperpigmentation (purple!) and A LOT of scarring. I was signed to Ford Models before this product happened to me, and after that, I had lost my contract. I have now spent thousands of dollars trying to get my skin back, but NOTHING IS WORKING. THANKS A LOT BARE MINERALS! I'm looking into filing a class action lawsuit - at least to get my money back for what I've had to spend to get rid of the scarring. Dry, itchy skin with a side of zits

At first Bare Minerals seemed to work well, but in hindsight I had great skin so almost anything would. I did notice right away that my skin felt itchy (I thought maybe it was from the brush) and the powder felt heavy, like a mask. Also, when I sweat my face burns a little. After a few weeks my skin is so DRY, and I've got little rashy bumps all over my chin, fore head, around my nose, even sensitive areas that don't normally break out. I don't really have wrinkles around my eyes but the powder is so chalky it looks like I've got major crows feet a few hours after application. Definitely letting my face heal and trying something else!

I wanted to try Bare Minerals for a long time. I'd seen the infomercial many times and wondered what it would be like. After I finally received my product, mailing was really slow... I was excited to use it. It's been five days. I like how easy it is to use and quick. I love the brushes. I do not like the containers. I find then hard to use. As for the makeup itself... I am not as impressed as I thought I would be. I feel like my pores show more. I do like the natural glow it gives me. I also do not think it lasts as long as some of the other makeups I have tried last. Oddly enough, I feel like my face is warm all the time. I also have a small blemish on my skin, normally they clear up within a day or two, and it has not gone away since Friday. I really thought I would put this product on and be blown away... but really, I was a little dissapointed. Try it if you want... some people seem to love it.

I love this make up. I sing in a band, which means I sweat alot while perfoming. When using liquid make up it would always melt away but with Bare Minerals it stay put. Its quick and feels great on my skin.

I was a little skeptical. Before using bare minerals I rarely wore makeup because my skin is so bad. I got red splotches easily as well as acne (and not just small pimples!). I am in my thirties and my bad skin is scarred and makes me look older than what I am. I seen the infomercial and decided to try it. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews here. After using this product for a while I am really pleased. It took me a few tries to get the application right-- ( I was using too much at first) but the condition of my skin has actually improved. The irritation and redness is gone and the acne has improved as well. Obviously, it isn't going to fix years of scarring and bad skin, but it does cover the scarring and really evens out my skin. I love it! I wasn't expecting perfection, anyways. I look so much better now. One of my favorite features is the fact that it meets the needs of my combination skin. My t zone is always really oily and my cheeks are really dry. In the past I have had trouble with making color not going on evenly because of this. With BM--my normally oily areas don't get shiney, but my dry spots feel soft and healthy. I look ten years younger. Ok, so it is a little messy, and it is a little expensive, but for me, its worked betted than anything I've ever tried. I might not look as "perfect" as the models on the DVD or infomercial, but if you seen my before and after picures, the difference is amazing. I'm really glad I took the chance. One last note: I love the well rested eye shadow. It makes me look fresh eyed and energetic and gets rid of the darkness around my eyes. I also like the warmth-- since I've been pale all winter. Also, its worth taking the time to watch the DVD instructions. I would have never known how to apply it right and get the full benefit from it if I had not taken the time to do that.

I have been using this for about 3-4 years now and I have absoulely nothing bad to say about this product! I honesly wouldn't ever use anything else beside ID. My skin is very sensitive and it is really hard for me to use any type of makeup. But, once I tried ID, there was no turning back. They are always coming up with new things and I love their kits the most! This is a definite one and everyone should try this at least once in there life to see how well it works.

I started using this makeup 4 yrs ago and will never use anything else. I have very dry skin and had doubts about this product. It really isn't a powder and I get tons of compliments on how great my skin is! If I get a blemish it covers with no problems. I once had a horrible sunburn across my nose and was able to cover it!! It never looks caked on and stays all day. If Iam going out in the evenings I just swipe the brush across my nose and around my mouth to freshen it up. I highly recommend this product. You will not be disappointed. I have also tried their lipgloss and eyeshadows and don't care for them. Their face wash is to die for. Iam on auto ship for both the makeup and the face wash. I even get free gifts in just about every shipment which is how I discovered their face wash!! Fabulous product.

I found the face make-up to be adequate but the powder concealer was sadly lacking. I went to a Bare Minerals store and was impressed with all the beautiful colors of eye shadows so I bought a number of them. My eyes swelled shut and became so itchy that I required a steroid injection followed by oral steroids. When the swelling finally went down, I was left with flaking skin around my eyes that took 2 weeks to heal. I threw the whole system in the trash, but kept the Kabooki brush which I love and now use with MAC powder foundation.

Love this product! I have been using Bare Minerals for over 4 years now. Liquid foundation never looked good on me, it was always uneven. But Bare Minerals always gives me even, natural looking coverage. Love it, love it, love it. I'll never go back to liquid foundation.

I tried Bare minerals and loved it. I have oily/normal skin and have heard ppl say it may not work well on oily skin but..I think its how you care for your face, a good skin care regimen, washing your face twice a day! Moisturizing with non oily products and washing your brushes, just mild shampoo and set them out tilted with brushes down. The handy buki brush is so handy for fuller coverage, if anyone didnt know that! The other regular brush just gives a lighter finish so take your pick but they dont tell that on the video for the product i dont think. I always used revlon colorstay makeup since i was 15 and am now 25. It doesnt work near as good as this. You just buff, buff and your imperfections (mine are redness, large pores and dermatitis only SLIGHTLY IF i wash my face religously), just dissappear. I still have to use oil blotting sheets to keep the oil under control but would have to do that no matter what. The Bare minerals works great. You know when you see those few people, sometimes on the beach, moviestars or otherwise, that look like they have NOOO makeup on but yet their skin is flawless, i garuntee you it's mineral makeup. Just try it youll see.
Best makeup out there will never switch!

I am 18 and have bad acne! i always forget to wash my face at the end of the day. i would use expensive makeup like clinique and it would feel cakey . This is a way better product my acne has gotten way better my face is softer if looks fantastic rally light covers well. and has improved my self esteem! no im looking better then ever with my new makeup its worth every penny!
Breakout City

This product was great at first, I tried it out in a major dept. store and then decided to purchase it. I used it for a couple of weeks and then I broke out so bad it looked like I had some disease. Luckily they stand behind their return policy for the makeup and took it back but WOW what a horrible break out... it was worse then a teenager with sever acne.
So glad I finally tried it!

I am going to be 60 this year. I was happy with the makeup I had been using forever, but my normal but getting-more-wrinkled skin was showing just how much makeup I was wearing. Once I found a location to purchase in person I bought the starter package in a heartbeat. I still have "layers" on my skin, but but not thickness, not something I worry about sliding off of my face. The product does everything I expected and hides/evens out the imperfections as well as can be realistically expected. It took some practice & tweaking to get the application down correctly & now I do it about as fast as you see in the commercials. I use my own moisturizer under everything. I was please at how long the first purchase lasted and so the cost evens out for me. I don't worry about getting old - I just don't want you to "see" the makeup I'm wearing.

I have had moderate acne all my life and have just switched from Proactive to Bare Minerals because I just became pregnant. Before trying the product I read product reviews and found that some people absolutely loved it and some people hated it, I decided that the only way to find out was to try it myself. I'm so glad I did, I am absolutely in love with this product! With a little patience in application it covers my acne extremely well. I'm pregnant, so i've excepted the fact that my acne my not improve but at least i've found something that covers well and doesn't clog my pores and make it worse. The Proactive and regular makeup was making my skin very dull, Bare minerals makes my skin have a natural healthy glow. It's amazing, as with any product it may not be right for everyone but it may be perfect for you, so just give it a try.

I have been using the product for 2 years and I love it. I could sleep in it and I do not have to worry about breaking out. The makeup looks very natural and when I wear it people can't tell I wear any they just think I have beautiful skin.

I have been using this product for about 3 months now. At first I loved it but the last 2 months I started breaking out around my hairline, jawline, and chin. I couldn't figure out what was going on until I read other people's reviews. It has to be the i.d. bare minerals. It's the only thing I've changed. I had nice skin until now.

I bought this late one night as an impulse. When I received it, it was obviously something we had to try out and do "make overs" for everyone in the house! My best friend, her little sister, and I all loved it! It was amazing. I have under eye circles and they go away so amazingly well! I really enjoy this product. Another thing I love is that you barely put any on. I first put it on really heavily, but it really looks better without much at all! I also really like how it integrates so nicely with my existing makeup. It really blends well into my older blush. The only downfall is at first they send so often! I kept having to change that because I barely use any up. I have been a "club" member for over a year now and have a lot of product never even used. I also have bought their other stuff, like mascara and eye shadow. Both are amazing! The mascara is the best. I have gotten compliments on it and let a friend of mine who is a makeup artist try it out and she looooved it! It's worth it. And the eye shadow barely creases! It's so smooth! I recommend this stuff to everyone I know... and my best friend who was there when I first got it uses it too! Also, if you do use it often and stay a member of the club and get it shipped to you often, you do get free stuff like facial cleanser, and brushes, and stuff like that, which is also really nice. They actually follow through on giving you free things, unlike other clubs.
