Great Product

8/11/2008 - Claudia of Arizona, USA writes:

I tried this product after a tried a different mineral makeup brand that I kind of liked. Although bareminerals was more expensive then the others I decided to give it a try hoping it would not disapoint me. I bought a starter kit that lasted me six months,so the price is no longer an issue for me. i used the makeup alomost everyday and it worked great. I still have to buy regular concealer but I dont expect one product to do everything. I love the brushes that come with the starter kit and I cannot go without the mineral veil. Its been about a year and I have bought 2 intro kits, of course you can buy the foundation separately but I really like all the extra stuff that comes in the intro kit. My only advice would be to not order it by phone or online but go to a beauty store that carries this product and try it on, then if you like it, you can shop around and get a deal you can get this product almost anywhere and the prices range from $40-60 for the intro kits.

Excellent product

8/7/2008 - debby of CA, LA writes:

I loved bare minerals, it works very well on my skin, I have very oily skin and I break out with pimples but with bm I break out alot less and my oily skin is more balanced. I resently lost all my bm makeup and I almost went crazy! I started using other foundations untill my bm arrived and I started breaking out, little by little my oily skin started coming back, I highly recommend bare minerals its a great investment for urself

Works Wonders

8/6/2008 - Rebekah of MT, US writes:

I have been using this product for years and it has worked wonderfully. You do have to practice for awhile, though to get the right amount on your brush. I find that if I use a greasy moisturizer I need to put on a little loose powder to absorb it before using BM. I have to blend hues to get my correct color and I also find that if I use a little of the finishing powder mixed in the the BM it goes on smoother. Don't peel off the sticker inside the container. Leave it and just pry the cup up and tap some powder into it and set it back in. It helps to hold down any mess. This is what I use to mix the BM / finising powder in. Slightly dip in the brush, swirl it into the lid, tap and the lightly brush onto the skin. If you need more, repeat the steps and you will have a flawless and crease free application.

Bare Escentuals is the Greatest!!

7/22/2008 - Lucie of CT, US writes:

I have been using Bare Essentials for 1 1/2 years. I watched the infomercials and decided to try it. I purchased the kit at my local []. I found that after a few weeks my oily skin started clearing up and it improved my skin. My skin is now clearer after use and I am now using the new cleanser that just came out, the one in powder form. My skin has never been clearer or cleaner. The make up is fantastic. It takes some bit of practice, the swirl, tap, buff being automatic for me now. It is important to start small and add when you start using this, as this is so concentrated and long lasting that a little goes a long way. I find that the eye shadow lasts without reapplying and the organic lipstick is just perfect, with no smudging or smearing. It goes on just right. I have 8 lipsticks, the most I have ever had and the same number of eye shadows, and I never used eye shadow before. It has great staying power. I find that the Mineral Veil is great for finishing, although I feel I can go without it except in hot and humid weather. Then I do put it on. I feel that these products are pricey, but totally worth it. This is the last make up I will ever use. I don't even try other brands, that's how much I love it.

....

7/19/2008 - Sarah of CA, USA writes:

Ive been using bare minerals for a couple years, I love it. I dont think I would stop using it. I do have to say though that using bare minerals alone doesnt work all day for me. I have to use foundation with it. which is kinda a downfall because bare minerals is there so you dont have to wear foundation, but when I use foundation and put bare minerals on it looks fabulous. Looks flawless and my skin looks so healthy and surprisingly it doesnt look cakey. It lasts all day to. Although this product isnt fully what they say it is on t.v it is a good product and I love it, I say everyone should at least give it a shot not everything is made for everyone but you never know if something works until you try.

works pretty good

7/16/2008 - Sara of CA, US writes:

I purchased this product at [] 2 months ago on a whim. I never liked foundation and hated the caked on look that it gave to so many women I've seen. But I needed to find something to cover my freckles that seem to love to sprout on my face during the summer. I would say that it works pretty well, it gives me enough coverage to hide my blemishes but it goes on light enough that people do not notice I have makeup on which is what i love. For blemishes besides light freckles I would say you would need heavier concealer. When I first used it, I had to say that I hated it. It didnt absorb into my skin and made it look cakey but a few more tries and it worked. I dont know if it was because of how I applied it on or what but it eventually worked for me. Now I use it everyday. A hint of advice when traveling especially if you are checking your luggage in along with your bare minerals is that you place some scotch tape inside the little holes where the makeup comes out, I had to learn it the hard way.

Not for 40+ Skin

7/13/2008 - Susan of NJ, USA writes:

I loved the idea of this product, but was not as happy with the results. It really emphasizes creases. I am 39 and just starting to get facial lines and it seemed to highlight them. I love the eyeliner and blush, shadow, etc. But I cannot use the foundtion or face powders. It also does not seem to last the whole day and can be a little messy. My opinion is, it is better suited for young skin.

Suprised, I actually like it

7/11/2008 - Erin of Wisconsin, USA writes:

I never had a huge urge to buy BM. I tried it at a friends house and it was okay. I just thought why not buy it so I did. I thought I wouldnt like it, I did the first step and thought oh this is horrible but then I used the concealer brush and wow I love it. I'm still not going to make the full on switch over to BM I still do love my other liquid foundation, but I think this will be a nice change for the winter. So I say give it a try.

LOVE IT!!!

7/11/2008 - Teresa of NY, USA writes:

I've never had so many nice compliments as I have since I started using Bare Minerals. If you keep your brushes clean, it should avoid some of the breakouts others mentioned. My skin texture has improved. I was worried that it would show my fine lines and wrinkles but it doesn't when it is applied correctly. I use the bisque as a concealer first. It actually hides my melasma spot!! I look younger, well-rested and happy! I am 50 years old. I will never open another jar of liquid makeup as long as I continue to wear makeup.

Great Makeup - just not for me!

7/7/2008 - Angela of Nevada, United States of America writes:

I watched the infomercials for a couple of years and really wanted to try this product. I finally ordered the introductory kit of Bare Escentuals. Every thing in the package looked beautiful. That is until I put it on my face. I am 49 years old and have some mild discoloration from old acne and very few wrinkles so far. I found the product filled in my pores but did not provide the type of coverage I desired. I did not acheive a flawless and luminous look like the commericials lead you to believe. My face looked very uneven and blotchy, very shiny and my wrinkles were actualy accentuated. This was not really the look I was going for. It also itched and my skin felt irritated. If you have young, flawless, unwrinkled skin this product would be perfect for you. But then if you have young, flawless unwrinkled skin why do you need any makeup!?

Love It!

7/6/2008 - Stacy of Virginia, USA writes:

I have been using this product for 5 years and I absolutely love it. I have very blotchy skin and this is the first product I have found that smoothes my skin with a minimal amount of make up. It doesn't cake up. And while I do have fine lines under my eyes (all the women in my family do) I have not found a product that addresses that problem any better. It provides excellent blemish coverage and no make up lines. I have found that I get the best coverage when I apply moisturizer, allow it to dry, then apply the make up.

best makeup ever

7/2/2008 - andrea of ky, usa writes:

have been using this product for almost 4 years. when i started using it i had awful acne and just started accutane. this product provided amazing coverage and didn't irritate my very sensitive skin. (don't get me wrong--didn't make the face perfect but was the best coverage that didn't cake and definitely muted the issue) last year able to wear during my entire pregnancy despite hormonal skin conditions, and has continued to perform exceptionally well. key for me is making sure skin is well moisturized prior. also keep brushes clean (need washing every few weeks to provide good coverage and avoid breakouts.) all the colors are great, mixing options fun. using dry eye powders wet for eyeliner not the best compared to other products. have used eye powders, face powders, and lip colors. no experience w/ mascaras or blushes. highly recommend going somewhere that sells the starter package to get the right color coverage. holds up great in the water. i wear it before i run for the sunscreen and no caking. love it!

Bare B.S

6/30/2008 - Valentina of nil, Ireland writes:

I have purchased the Bare Minerals Starter Kit. After around 3 days of using it I started breaking out. The product looked cakey and the colour was all wrong. It is way worst than traditional foundation and by no means innovative. I would not reccomend this product to anybody.

Working with it

6/24/2008 - Maya of California, USA writes:

When I first heard about mineral makeup, I research which ones was the best for me. I somehow pick BM. I ordered and try on it. the first couple of day was great and beautiful, and then I noticed my skin braking out. Like I would have a little pimple here and there. Nothing major, I thought. I normally have dry skin. Seems like the BM makes my skin too dry that why it break out. Sometimes, depends on the weather, I break out. I noticed that when I wear BM everyday or even when I go to sleep with it and it's a humit day, my skin gets irrated and I get pimples. If I wear it every other day and never wear it to sleep or to workout, then it's okay. I really like how I look with BM so I just keep using it. And I think my skin is handling it better now..

Not For Me

6/22/2008 - vangie of NJ, USA writes:

I tried using this product earlier this year and I noticed that I was breaking out. Their customer service recommended using a synthetic brush instead. I have oily skin and noticed that as I wear the make-up on the more oilier my skin gets. I had to eventually consult a dermatologist because even after I stopped putting it on I was still beaking out. I will not recommend this for oily type of skin even though it says that it's all skin types.

Enhances my under eye wrinkles

6/19/2008 - Kimmiec of Illinois, US writes:

I used BM years ago and loved it. Now that I am 43...it's not so great. I found it does still cover...but seems to sit on top of my skin and enhances the wrinkles just under my eyes.So not for me these days. The infomercial never addresses under eye wrinkles...I found out why.

User for LIFE!

6/19/2008 - Shannon of Louisiana, U.S.A writes:

I just wore my BM makeup today for the first time and I’m extremely impressed with my results. I tried putting a little of it on a few days ago just to get a glimpse into what it would look like…. and was dissapointed. I didn’t find the coverage good at all and I also didn’t find it stayed on well. Today I actually went all out and started with a fresh face. I put on my face lotion that I always wear and then began applying the makeup. The difference was amazing! The powder actually stuck to my skin and it looked just awesome! I can’t even begin to tell you how good it looked once I was done using the warmth and mineral veil. My dentist actually complimented me and asked if I had been to the beach because I had that tanned look. (I haven’t been to the beach in over a year!!) I’m a user for life!! Also, I was expecting it to be messy with all the powder, but it wasn't messy at all. My 2 year old was sitting on the bathroom counter while I was applying and he didn't get a spot on him (he was maybe 6 or 7 inches from where I was applying). Just a tip to the ladies who say it’s not covering well… try putting on a face lotion first, let it dry for a minute or so, then apply the makeup- it works wonders!

Love the eyes, hate the blending

6/8/2008 - Carrie of CA, USA writes:

In search of a new make-up brand, and wary of anything currently on the market, I thought Bare Minerals sounded like a decent idea. Since I still had plenty of my foundation & powders from the 'old' brand I used, I started off simply trying out Bare Minerals eye colors. I love the colors. I love the way that you can add a touch of water to the makeup brush and turn it into a fabulous, creamy, sultry, colorful eyeliner. I have never been able to use liquid eyeliners with any talent, but this is so quick and easy for me. I raved to everyone I knew. And then I tried their face powders. I have a 35 year old face, but, without makeup, I have no visible wronkles, no crows feet--some acne discoloration, yes, but no scarring...nothing remarkable on my face. I could not apply this powder satsfactorily to save my life. It seemed to smudge in one direction, and then another...but never seemed to apply in any consistent manner. Finally, I caked enough on my face that I felt silly, but satisfied enough with the coverage on my face--it finally seemed to be even. And then, within an hour (and not even in particularly warm weather), my face looked splotchy again, overly shiny (from the powder), and wrinkles that I do not normally see had made their homes on my face! It seems that the powder caked into little mountains and valleys whenever I made any facial expressions, and then stayed that way, when I relaxed. Summarily, I tossed the face powders. I went bac to my 'old' products, which don't make me look older than I am. I still adore Bare Minerals eye color palettes, and I use them every day. I think highly enough of these products to want to share my experience. Thank you!
