It works, with pros & cons

7/21/2007 - Denise of Florida, USA writes:

I love the coverage, it's light and airy and doesn't make your face feel clogged. I love the Warmth to brighten up my cheeks- it makes me look tan year round! But the foundation makes my already oily skin look shiny, the Mineral Veil does NOT hide large pores as it says it does, and my face burns when I sweat. That is probably b/c of the sunscreen in it. But overall, I like the coverage and my breakouts are less frequent

Wonderful Makeup

7/14/2007 - Donna of Michigan, USA writes:

I have been using Bare Minerals for about a year now and love it. I am 44 yrs old and this makeup makes me appear and feel younger. I especially love the mineral veil that I apply over the foundation. I have tried many costly "top of the line" cosmetics and this is the one that I am sticking with. The price is worth it and the products last a long time. I did experience disappointment when I purchased the eyebrow kit. I purchased the color burnette since I have dark brown hair. It was extremely dark. I ended up purchasing the dark blonde and blending the two together to get what I consider a burnette color. This was costly since I had to pay a total of $60 but at least I have the right color that will last a very long time. Perhaps the name should be changed to "Black".

Love it, Love it, Love it......

7/8/2007 - Tara of South Carolina, USA writes:

I asked my mom to buy Bare Minerals for me as a Christmas gift because I did not want to spend my money on a product that might end up being "fake". I can honestly say that I did not like the product when I first started using it because I was used to wearing cream and liquid foundations for 17 years. After watching Leslie's tips on the DVD and sticking with it I have learned to use it quite effectively. I love this product..it doesn't make my face burn when I sweat, though. I only use the foundation, warmth & mineral viel..that seems to be enough for me. I would suggest buying the one time only initial offer for $60. The product is supposed to come every two months but it is 7 months after Christmas and I still have plenty left, so you get a good quantity when you order this product, not the lip gloss size pots that have been fussed about with other mineral makeups. If you do not have really bad skin and enjoy wearing makeup that is light without the cakey effect this is the perfect makeup for you....I love it, love it, love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good coverage, but do not sleep in it.

6/25/2007 - Anonymous of Alberta, Canada writes:

I bought the foundation starter kit with the free concealer (bisque) included. when used in combination the product has great coverage. I usually use bisque to cover up scarring or acne first using the small full coverage brush before I buff on the foundation with the kabuki brush. The foundation stays on fairly well, even after light exercises. If you have combination/sensitive skin like me, give the product a few minutes after you buff it on as the buffing would naturally create a bit of redness to your skin. I don't find the mineral veil to be all that essential (it doesn't cover large pores), but I use it over my makeup so that it absorbs the oil and my makeup would stay on throughout the day. As with all foundations, make sure you exfoliate your skin regularly...the foundation will not hide flaking skin. In addition, the foundation does crease up in between lines, depending on the amount you buff on. Also, I would not recommend going to bed with the product on your face --- that's just a gimmick. An excess of oil accumulated on your face in combination with the product will cause some mini-breakouts. In sum, I would recommend the product to people in my age group (late 20's, as I have no idea if it'll work on older skin). The results are better if you exfoliate your skin regularly and moisturize before you apply the product.

I like it so far

6/14/2007 - Chelsea of Texas, USA writes:

I've been using it for about a week. I noticed right away that it is drying out the skin around my eyes & mouth, so I've started using lotion to help w/that (per suggestion from the DVD that came w/the starter kit that I bought... I reccommend watching the DVD). On my T-zone, it's really improved the oiliness that I have by the end of the day, and there's been no excessive drying there. The brushes are fairly soft, & the product goes on great, especially as a spot concealer. I have moderate acne, so I'm *hoping* long-term use will clear some of that up (so far, NOTHING has helped). I use the Mineral Veil, Fairly Light Foundation, All-Over Warmth, and All-Over Glee. I bought it at [] rather than joining the "club" online.

It makes my face burn too when I sweat!

6/14/2007 - Gillian of Ontario, Canada writes:

Another reviewer said that the product made her face burn when she sweats - and it does the exact same thing to me. I too bought the product in the winter months and LOVED it - I still love it, but now that summer is here, as soon as I get hot and my face starts to sweat all I can feel is my face burning and I wish it didn't because I love the way this makeup looks :(

Nice texture, but the foundation color didn't work

6/11/2007 - Toni of Georgia, USA writes:

I have the warmth, which I completely love, however the foundation color didn't work for my skin. I am a multiracial woman, a classic tan, but Bare Minerals sends you a light/dark tan foundation. Neither worked, it made me look dirty. Bare Escentuals refunded my money. The customer service person said, the President was trying to make more colors for people in my situation. I'm not olive skinned or dark skinned, but Bare Escentuals is a great product, but it didn't work for me

Yes & No for me

6/11/2007 - T. Schneider of Florida, USA writes:

I decided to try it back in Nov. 06 and loved it. But as the summer weather started to warm up. The makup was making my skin itch & burn when my face starts to sweat. I have tried to use the mineral veil first then the makeup but it still burns. So I canceled my order. I do really miss using the product. I had people tell me my skin was so clear & creamy looking. Was wondering if other people had this problem too?

I love this make up. It's best to go get the instruction at one of the stores, so you know how to use it. I've turned on my friends to it & they love it too!

Terrific!

6/9/2007 - Jeannette of New York, USA writes:

I am 51 years old and have been using this products for over a year. I have very oily skin and I sweat a lot. The makeup stays on beatufully and it gives me a youthful appearance. I love it. Joining the club when they send it automatically it definitely not a good idea. Get it from the stores.

I LOVE IT!

5/31/2007 - Teri of Illinois, USA writes:

I absolutely love Bare Minerals. I am almost 50 years old and have tried every type of foundation there is. I first tried one of the starter kits they offer on the infomercial and also at the local beauty supply. By the way it lasts forever, it may not look like much but it goes a long way. I couldn't believe how easy it was and how well it covered. In addition the women I work with noticed immediately and asked me why I looked so good...they said my skin was glowing, they talked about it all day. My friend however did not wear it as well even though she is a few years younger than me, it made her look wrinkled but she has spent many many years tanning and I am sure that the sun damage is why it was not complimentary to her skin. I will use it as long as I use makeup. It looks great and its very easy to apply. TRY IT!

Works for some... not for all. Caused Acne.

5/19/2007 - Misti of Wisconsin, USA writes:

I initially LOVED this product, and raved about it to all of my friends. After using it for a couple of weeks, my face started to break out in cystic acne that hurt unbelievably had all over my forhead, on my temples, and on my chin. It worked great for all of my friends though, so it really just depends on how sensitive your skin is... didn't work for me though. My skin has never been thsi bad.

chalky

5/6/2007 - Donna of Washington, USA writes:

I was hopeing for something differant, considering how expensive it is.I have a very young 60 year old face but when I applied the product I looked 80+ years old,it accuated the few lines I do have, I still look better with a good quality moistuerizer/liquid foundation. Good rule to follow for most skin types over 40 yrs stay away from anything that even resembles powder Thank you Donna

pretty good

5/2/2007 - Jamie of Nevada, USA writes:

Experiment to get right. I use MAC brushes instead and goes on smoother. feels like sand on your face at first. I tried the Tan foundation and it got extremely itchy. switched back to using medium beige and now it doesnt itch. First I moisturize, I apply medium tan foundation all over my face, i apply medium beige under my eyes which is one shade lighter, use warmth as blush and on forehead, nose and under the chin and jawline, use bisque to cover dark blemishes and finish with mineral veil to remove shine. I use MAC lip gloss, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara. pros are: great coverage, looks natural, does not accentuate lines, covers redness, and containers of product will last long. cons are: feels itchy, dries skin, won't cover severe blemishes, and needs to be reapplied often, lasts about 3 hours. I carry the foundation and I put a light layer of moisturizer on my face and then reapply.

Not for me

4/30/2007 - Elle of New York, USA writes:

I did not like this product, but I wanted to. I should say that I have never liked the feeling of foundation or powders on my face, but hoped this would be different. It wasn't. I could feel it all day long. My skin is pretty good, and it didn't change that, but I was aware of the powder and couldn't wait to wash it off. I used it for a few weeks, just to be sure, but I'm back to my usual sunscreen and nothing else.

I Am Going to Keep Using It

4/28/2007 - Tracy of Florida, USA writes:

I've been using Bare Minerals for about 6 months. I have sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin. The product provides decent coverage. I do reapply the foundation three times a day, but it is easy. Make sure that you experiment with the foundation colors to get a good match. I did not like the mineral veil because it accentuated every wrinkle & line -Not flattering. The concealer brush works very well for problem spots. I am still on the fence about the well rested for the undereye area. I use a cream cover-up and finish up with the powder. I love all the different eyeshadow shades, but they fade easily & by the afternoon all the color has "slipped" off of my eye lids. If you apply the eyeliner wet, you can get longer coverage. The blush colors are flattering and easy to apply. I am glad that I purchased the product and am going to continue using it.

Worth the money

4/23/2007 - Lauren of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

Bare Minerals lives up to its promise 100%. As someone who would normally never buy anything off an informercial, I can personally attest that Bare Minernals/Bare Escentuals is not a scam, but in fact the complete opposite: a high quality product that is definitely worth a try.

Great product

4/21/2007 - Lori of Michigan, USA writes:

I am 46 and this is the best makeup I've ever used. The look is professional but it feels light and healthy. Get a makeover from a store and purchase it there so that you can see what colors work for you. The infomercial intro package doesn't send concealer or blush - you need both. I recommend concealer ("multi-tasking minerals"), foundation, mineral veil and blush. The makeup lasts forever because you don't need to use much, so it ends up costing less than most others. It covers my rosacea, but doesn't cover my age spots entirely (this is my only complaint.) Other problems involve (again) the intro package from the company - the jars are smaller, you are entered into a program where they bill you monthly and send product (with high shipping charges), and you receive products that you don't need. Find a store, get a makeover and buy the best makeup out there.
