Works well -- if properly applied

1/7/2008 - Deonna of Kentucky, USA writes:

I first received Bare Minerals about a year ago, and I haven't worn any other foundation since. I admit, though, that I wasn't exactly pleased when I first tried them. I'm 34 years old and have acne as well as some scars from a car accident, plus my skin is oily. Therefore, having a foundation that supplies adequate coverage is very important to me. Until I got the hang of the swirl, tap, buff, Bare Minerals was a huge disappointment. Finally, frustrated and ready to give up, I went online and watched a demonstration of the exact technique. With practice (we're talking probably 3 or 4 tries), the method was learned and I was in love. Yes, you can cover just about anything if you do it correctly. Yes, it is good for your skin and can be slept in. As a bonus, it also supplies exceptional sunblock. I do recommend getting the 'buki brush if you don't have it, especially if you want good coverage.

Looking good at 50!!

1/7/2008 - donna of Illinois, USA writes:

I have suffer with acne, redness and scarring since I was 12 years old. I started using Bare Minerals at the suggestion of a retain beauty chain employee (this chain carries thousands of other products and the employees do not work on commission). I was told to ensure that my skin was properly exfoliated (I used Murad AHA/BHA exfoliation) before using. After a few applications of Bare Minerals, I noted significant reduction in black-heads, reddness, and pimples. When I attempted to use other concealors/foundations, a breakout was noted within a day.

Best Makeup Ever

1/6/2008 - Louisa of Illinois, USA writes:

I've been using Bare Minerals for three years now and it is terrific. What a change from using liquid foundation. I had acne problems before and it did a good job of covering them up without feeling like I had a ton of makeup on. Well worth it and the product lasts. It feels like you don't have anything on at all.

It was ok

1/6/2008 - Crystal of Minnesota, USA writes:

I purchased the "Light" kit and I must say, it really didn't make my skin look that great. The foundation actually made my face look kind of yellow and it't very east to over-do the warmth color. But, I will say that the Mineral Veil was fantastic. It made my face look very soft, and it stayed shine free all day. Even during an outdoor wedding in 100 degree heat.

not for everyone.

1/3/2008 - Joanna of Wyoming, USA writes:

i have to admit that i was very skeptical about this product before even trying it. luckily i didn't pay for it with my own money; my boyfriend bought it for me for christmas. i have a few blemishes, nothing serious, medium sized pores in my t-zone, and redness. far from a perfect complexion. i tried this product, and even after three consecutive applications, was left with red spots and unevenness. i use liquid foundation on a daily basis and i find bare minerals to be a lot more cakey than any liquid i've ever tried. at least liquid foundation goes on evenly when applied correctly. i think this product is aimed more towards people who don't usually wear makeup/have better complexions, because it's definitely not for people who need serious coverage. i'd pick l'oreal true match foundation over this any day.

the best

1/3/2008 - becky of West Virginia, USA writes:

ok, i have tried everything for my skin. i've used the most expensive to the cheapest and nothing worked. My face is oily and dry and started breaking out bad.. I'm 26 and hate the way my face would look after a couple hours of wearing makeup.I bought this product because not only it covers blemishes but suppose to help improve.... and i love it does everything they said ...trust me when i say i have tried everything. i advised my dermatologist and now she wears bare minerals.... you hear alot of talk about products but this really does work if not to cover blemishes to improve skin

Wonderful product

12/31/2007 - Nicole of Oregon, USA writes:

This is the best makeup out there. I was very skeptical at first about using just a powder foundation, but Bare Minerals works wonders. I always get complimented on my skin now, and it barely feels like I am wearing make up.

Fabulous!

12/29/2007 - jerilynn of North Carolina, USA writes:

From 1980 until 2007, I used Max Factor pancake makeup. Applied with a damp sponge, this foundation was the only one I ever found that didn't change colors or move around on my face. I procrastinated trying bare minerals for years because I had tried so many products and always returned to Max Factor. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try the bare minerals. I LOVE it! I have rather large red patches and darkness at the corners of my eyes. I find that I get plenty of coverage in these places if I first apply a primer or moisturizer. Used alone the bare minerals do nothing! I have recommded this product to many people and will continue to use it myself. My only negative critique is that it is loose powder. My bathroom sink gets covered in dust and the powder is hard to travel with. I can't wait for a pressed form!

This is the only makeup i will ever wear!

12/29/2007 - Melissa of Washington, USA writes:

I love this product! I have problem spots of acne and I dont have that creamy natural complexion. But this product covers what I need covers and the acne problems I have are almost completely gone. I think the foundations I used to use accentuated and encouraged those darn acne spots I had. well no more! the coverage is great, I look younger and it takes me about 5 minutes to apply all my makeup in the morning! Thank heavens for Bare Minerals!! I will never use those other brands again!

Hate makeup, but adore this stuff

12/26/2007 - M of Alabama, USA writes:

I rarely wear more than a little eyeliner and lip gloss. I can't stand the way foundation feels. Plus, I have dry skin, and am very sensitive to many of the products I've worn in the past, resulting in itchiness and redness and irritation. The Bare Minerals infomercial sucked me in though and I bought it. No kidding, it works. It's light and natural, feels great on my skin, doesn't feel fake, and actually, after only a few weeks, my skin REALLY does feel smooth. Maybe it's all in my head but I don't think it is. I even made my first trip to a local [] to pick up some additional Bare Minerals products today. Nice thing is though, I still use so little of the product because a little goes a LONG way, it doesn't seem like it will break the bank either.

So-so

12/26/2007 - Dee of Pennsylvania, USA writes:

When I first got my starter kit, it took some time to get used to applying the makeup. I do like the coverage and the way it makes my skin look. I have a very ruddy complexion which makes my cheeks very red. This makeup covers that up. And I like the fact that it doesn't feel heavy. Unfortunately, I sweat a lot on my face in the summer time. And even though I try to lightly dab my face, instead of rub it when I sweat, the makeup doesn't stay on. The demonstration that they do on the ad (where the woman dunks her hands in the bowls of water) is very misleading. It does come off when you sweat. So, for winter and cool weather months, I really like it. But for the summer time and warm weather, not so much.

Excellent

12/26/2007 - Patricia of British Columbia, Canada writes:

I got the starter kit as a Christmas Gift from a friend. I am 36 years old with faily good skin. Although I have a couple of red patches. It covered the red, and it looked like I wasn't wearing a bunch of fondation like I usually do. My skin did not get itchy and irritated as with other products. I highly recommend it. Watch the video then adjust it to work for you!

Love It

12/18/2007 - Gail of Georgia, USA writes:

I started out using the mineral viel and could not believe the difference in my complexion. So I ordered the starter kit and was not having alot of luck, so I ed watched the DVD and got alot of tips. It is working fine for me. I use a moisturizer and then apply the foundation, etc. Have had no problems with itching, redness or breakouts. The brushes are very soft and they really made a difference in the application of the products. I like the natural look of no foundation. Foundations have become to heavy looking and made up at this stage of life. I give it 5 stars.

Not as great as I thought it would be...

12/17/2007 - Jen of Idaho, USA writes:

I have had the product for three days now...I was soooo excited about getting it. The first day I tried it out I was confused because it didn't cover anything on my face, I have generally good skin, but some red spots and freckles here and there. It didn't cover any of them. Don't expect to get this product and have it work the way it does on the commercial. They say they use only un-retouched photos, I don't beleive that one at all. I have the look of having worn my regular makeup all day long and it's faded a bit (you know that look?) I was expecting a LOT MORE from Bare Minerals....oh well, I kick myself just about everytime I buy something off the tv......

Dries out older skin

12/15/2007 - patty of North Carolina, USA writes:

I am 50 years old and I've found that this make-up dries my skin and accentuates wrinkles. I do apply moisturizer first and allow it time to absorb, but this doesn't seem to help. So, I'll be continuing my search for a healthy moisturizing make-up.

SEEING IS THE BELIEVING!!!

I love it!!!

12/11/2007 - Yadira of Florida, USA writes:

I am a very skeptical person by nature, but I have to say I truly love the starter kit with foundation, mineral veil, and warmth. I suffer from dry skin and occasional breakouts. Ever since I have been using the products (3 weeks now) both have greatly improved!! It gives you an almost airbrushed finish to skin with a natural glow. The only thing I believe they could change is making better containers for travel. Because it is all powder, if the bottles get inverted in your purse of bag (which they will) it gets a little messy. Overall though, amazing products!

BEST MAKEUP OUT THERE

12/10/2007 - Amanda of Washington, USA writes:

This is by far the best makeup on the market! I have tried so many kinds and nothing stayed on, they made my beak-outs worse, or my makeup would look caked on! I don't like putting on makeup and looking or feeling I have makeup on. My mother in law brought this to me and I tried it. I looked in the mirror and loved the look of my makeup. So natural and beautiful bringing out all my features, giving me a clean smooth natural look! I recommend many to Bare minerals. I have only had one person not like it out of the many people i have had try it and now use. Bare minerals is not the only makeup i use i never thought i would fall in love with makeup!

Middle of the road

12/9/2007 - Katie of New York, USA writes:

I bought this product about a year ago after having some breakouts. Although I continue to use this product because to me it is better than the caked on look of a liquid, I do not think the infomerical is accurate. I have some red spots on my face that it doesnt cover well. I have to keep patting it on to get coverage on particular spots. Even then it doesnt look like they present it on TV. I also find the brushes to be rough. They make my chin/neck area feel a bit itchy at first but then it wears away. I do recommend this product but please do not expect it to hide even the slightest marks on your face.
