I used Bare Minerals for the first time three days ago. The make-up was even and provided good coverage. However, by the second day, I experienced redness and itching of my face. By day three I have red welps and itching over most of my face.

I bought this product about 4 months ago. At first, I really, really loved it! I recommended it to others. However, for the past month I have experienced severe acne on my temples, forehead, and chin and around my hair line. I did experience minor breakouts going through puberty, but NOTHING like this. They are massive bumps. It would be very itchy when I would perspire as well. After reading others' comments about breakouts, I now have confirmed it is due to this product. I will discontinue immediately. I would warn anyone to discontinue the moment they start experiencing any type of breakout that is not consistent with their day to day life.

I loved it at first, had the kit, but now I have broken out SO bad I have not left the house in three days!!! I loved the way it looks, but it has destroyed my face. I love the eye kits--will keep using the eye makeup, just not the foundation. Also experienced the itching and flaking.

I am 33, have imperfect skin, and have used Bare Minerals since December 2004. I hated the makeup the first two times I used it, but got the hang of applying it and fell in love. I use everything from the rever-upper to eyeliner to lipstick. The makeup does a great job of hiding my flaws and I ALWAYS get compliments on how beautiful my complexion is. I especially like the diversity of the eye products and how difficult it is to mess up! Go ahead, try it - you will LOVE it, too!

Bare Minerals is strange. My younger sister has very soft fare skin, she purchased Bare Minerals and didn't use it right. She applied so much it was all cakie. After a couple of months we figured out how to use it and now she looks great. I have great skin and love wearing Bare Minerals at work, normal work day is about ten hours, I love coming home and feeling refreshed, I never worry about washing my face anymore. I love it, and I think it's great for normal skin types! I do want you to know that I have farley good skin, no redness, or acne, so it works well for me.

I am prone to getting very dry skin in the winter. Every winter I get dry patches on my face that leave red raw skin under it when the dry skin is flakes off or scrubbed off. So I have red uneven color on my face. My doctor says it is just very dry skin and to keep it moisturized, which I do but it didn't make it go away completly. I started using bare minerals on Jan 2nd 2008 and today is Feb 10 2008 and for the first time in many years I have a completly smooth soft face. I don't have dry patches or red spots. My coloring is even and looks healthy. The only thing I have used different is bare minerals. They are so light on your face, they leave your face soft and healthy.I am soooo happy to have found bare minerals. I can't stop talking about it. My co-workers have all asked me what I use because I look younger. After I tell them, they all say the same thing(oh I have been wanting to try bare minerals). you will wonder why you didn't do it before. After you try the basics try the beyond the basics those are nice too. And no I don't work for them, I am actually a school bus driver from michigan

I've been using Bare Minerals for over a year now, and absolutely love it. Initially I thought that I'd probably abandon it, but I've gotten so many compliments on my gorgeous skin that I've kept using it. I've tried some of the drugstore brands, but they didn't apply as smoothly and evenly and are not as good as Bare Minerals. It does take a little getting used to, but after a week or so, it was second nature. Bare Minerals probably does not provide as much coverage as liquid foundation, but that's exactly what I like about it - my skin feels soft and natural and not clogged and sticky. I don't care for the concealers, and occasionally find that my eye shadow does not last as long as I'd like, but the foundation, Warmth, Mineral Veil and blush are perfect. People notice when I haven't applied Bare Minerals, it really does do a great job at evening my skin tone and making me feel beautiful. If possible, I'd suggest buying Bare Minerals in a store, so you can get a lesson on how to apply it - even better if you can find a []. This is the first foundation makeup that I've actually stuck with - and I'm definitely a devoted fan!

I switches to bare minerals a month ago,and yes it takes time to get the technique down, but I have noticed a big difference in my skin. I look younger and I have softer skin. I am prone to dry skin and bare minerals is great!!! I love it and will continue to use it.

I purchased the bare minerals products from [] (not from the TV). I have large pores, and the mineral make up made me break out really bad. I'm not talking about small pimples either. These breakouts were big bumps that were very painful. The mineral make up was also very messy. I got foundation, blush, and eyeshadow all over the bathroom sink.

I was so thrilled when my husband got me the starter kit. At first, I liked the coverage, but it is not long lasting. However, after a couple weeks, my face started itching severely and my skin got red and flaky. I thought it was hormonal or stress related, until I realized I only had those symptoms WHEN I APPLIED THE PRODUCT. I went to a dermatologist, who diagnosed me with seborrhea. This condition was caused by the bismuth oxychloride in the formula (can you imagine now grinding that into your skin?), which is shown to aggravate acne and cause severe allergic reactions. Unless you are a teen with a beautiful skin, do not waste your money on this.

I had bought sheer cover a couple months ago, i have good, normal skin, i just like to have a natural flawless look. I instantly wasen't too happy with sheer cover, it seemed to just sit on my skin, you could tell it was there, the color looked yellowish, and the worse thing about it all is it gave me little pimples, i NEVER get pimples, especially on my cheeks. After reading similar stories i tried bare minerals. INSTANTLY the little bumps started to go away. BAre minerals gives you a natural healthy look, it's not for people who like that fake looking skin, at all. No one thinks i wear make up, they just compliment me on how nice my skin is and how clear it is. I would definately reccomend Bare Minerals!

A friend recently recommended bare minerals to me, so I went to a local store and bought the starter kit for $60. I have oil prone skin and an olive skin tone. I had the whole puberty acne issue, but now a days I only get the occasional outbreaks. When I started using the product my skin was clear for the most part. It did look pretty the first few times I tried it. But after a few hours my skin developed shine through the makeup. After about a week my forehead was COMPLETELY broken out! I know bare minerals is the cause. After it caused my acne it does a very poor job of hiding it. I do not recommend this product!

Back in 2005, I was out of the country & had used a facial cleanser there that made my face break out terribly. Upon returning to the US, I went to an esthetician to have microdermabrasion done, in hopes of clearing up my skin. After the microdermabrasion, my esthetician recommended using a mineral makeup. She had suggested another brand, but I had been dying to try Bare minerals, since I'd seen the infomercials many times. I initially went to a local beauty supply store to buy my first Bare minerals foundation. When I tried it at home, I honestly did not like it. I went back to the beauty supply store to return it. But before I did so, I asked one of the sales people there to apply the Bare minerals foundation on me. I'd read and seen so many positive reviews about Bare minerals, that I did not want to give up. She applied Bare minerals for me, and it looked amazing... just like all the testimonials on the infomercial. I realized that it's all about the application technique. I went home and continued to practice my application technique. I noticed that the minerals did not hold on to a brand new brush as well as they did to a brush that has had a few applications. After several attempts, I finally achieved the "look of flawless skin"! I began ordering Bare minerals through the infomercial and have been a fan since. It takes time to achieve the correct application technique. Just be patient, and don't give up after a few attempts. If you have/had problem skin in the past, I believe that Bare Minerals is ideal. It does not feel heavy on your skin and does not clog your pores like liquid foundations. I love Bare minerals and have converted many of my friends to Bare minerals. I've been a faithful Bare Minerals user since May 2005 & could not imagine using anything else.

I really hate this stuff! I had been using L'Oreal Bare Naturale to see what these mineral make ups would be like and I like it though not as well as my Revlon Color Stay liquid. I use the Revlon and also had the L'Oreal with me during this past Moroccan and Spanish summer (dry heat). It didn't hold up at all where my Revlon did. I saw the infomercial about 100 times before deciding to purchase. I purchased in excess of $200.00 of the stuff as I wanted a wider range that I could use it for. The concealer didn't even hint at helping lightly dark circles, a lot of it was glittery looking on my face, the brushes shed horribly and make my face itch, and it took many coats of all that I bought just to see any change at all. I looked and felt horrible in it and I have good skin to begin with. I repacked all that I hadn't opened yet and gave it away for Christmas, hearing the same complaints about the product which I wouldn't pay 10.00 for!

I had seen an infomercial for id bareminerals while in a waiting room. I thought it looked cool, but was very eerie about whether it would actually work. Almost a year later I saw an ad about mineral makeup again. Soon after at a Thanksgiving gathering I was talking to my cousin (who always seems to be in the know) and she told me that she got it. I went the next day to a new [] in my area and bought the basic package. When they did the facial at the store on one side of my face I didn't notice much of a difference, but when I used the Prime Time underneath it, it made an amazing difference! I still didn't feel like it covered the redness in my cheeks, so I found a liquid mineral foundation (I made sure it was truly mineral and talc free) and I use it under the bare minerals makeup. I love it! It is a little pricey upfront, but it lasts forever, so you don't have to purchase it every month. I think it's totally worth it.

I found this product at a local make up retailer, and was very excited to buy it. I've seen the infomercial over and over again, and wanted to try it. I had read reviews about it being hard to return so I held off until I found it else where. So finally finding my locally, I bought what I thought would be the best make up ever. I tried the product for about a week. It took some time to figure out how to use, but each product is different and that's normal. I have horrible skin to begin with, acne as a teen, and occasional acne as an adult. I have red skin, and acne scars. It took a lot of of product to hide the scars, and as I applied it, it got darker, and started to really show as makeup. So it didn't really cover the way its made out to in the informercial. The worst part, I really started to break out. Not just a pimple here and there, but all over my face! The pros: A good makeup for evening out skin tone, but even Loreal's bare naturale does that well. Light application is all that is needed, and it's long lasting. The cons: The price. The product is not great for medium or heavy coverage. It made my skin freak out with acne!

I have tried everything under the sun to no avail. I have horrible red blotches and bad combination skin. The first time I tried the bare Minerals foundation I used too much...and it was extremely messy. After about 4-5 tries I finally got it down.Practice the swirl, tap & buff it helps out alot. I've been using bare Minerals for about 3 months now and will never use anything else again. I feel absolutely flawless and even my boyfriend likes the fact that it looks like I'm wearing nothing(and he hates make-up...but loves my bare Minerals)I'm so excited that my wedding pictures will be perfect even through the tears because the foundation does not have white lines after you cry like liquid makeup does.Over all I am extremely pleased with the product and will never use anything else again! :)

I have been using bare essentials for about 4 months and I like how it makes me look. From the start; I elected not to join the club; which I think was a good move. I didn't especially like the tiny containers they sent me in the mail. I had to get used to the messy applications. I decided to find a store near me that I could buy larger jars over-the-counter. I also found that [] who will sell be and you can get it much quicker than ordering it from the company. I had to order some primer from [] because what the company sent me initially was for one application. (and that was a joke) I have had some problems with tiny bumps on the right side of my face; but, it cleared up after a few days. For me, I feel that the concealer doesn't cover up anything on me. After numerous tries; I finally had to go back to my demablend which works great with bare essentials. I have to reapply the foundation after a few hours. But I feel that be is still a great product. And it; along with my dermablend, still make me look flawless!

I have been using Bare Minerals for four years. I have very dry skin and I have seen a big difference in my skin since I have been using Bare Minerals. It is not as dry and I rarely have blemishs. I am 47 years old and I have used Mary Kay since I was 18. I will never go back to Mary Kay since I have started using Bare Minerals. When visiting Florida a couple of years ago, a woman at Disney asked me why I looked so refreshed, I told her it was my Bare Minerals

Like others, I was excited and hopeful about this product but ended up sorely disappointed. First, I though it looked unnaturally shiny and not like a "healthy glow." Second, after a short time, it made my skin terribly dry, then it seemed to settle into and accentuated every line on my face. I'm 45 and have always passed for being 10 years younger, but not with Bare Minerals. Finally, I have never been prone to acne,(only the occasional pimple here and there), but it made my face break out like nothing I've ever seen. I thought it was my changing hormones at first, but when I stopped using it, the acne stopped. One positive thing I can say about this product is that, if applied properly, it did seem to hide trouble spots pretty well, (like the zit on it's way out), and I will occasionally use it on a tiny spot or as a highlighter under my brows, but that's it. Otherwise, using this product is just not worth the price (literally and figuratively.)
