This "special offer" is one giant rip off. They charge $19.95 but don't tell you the S&H. It turned out to be $28.90. Their 100% money bach guanentee is (Less S&H). It's cheaper to throw it away than to try to get $19.95 back.

I decided to use it to help dig a hole. The first time I used the large one, it broke in 2 pieces. I am returning this implement for a full credit. Of course, they will not return the shipping and habdling charge as that is how they make their money. This is not a quality product.

the awesome auger prople are using a bait and switch technique to cheat people.the cordless auger pictured for 19.95 is not the one you get.that is an upgrade. for 1995 you get a cheap drill that needs to be plugged in.this drill would be dangerous to use in an outdoor situation.shipping and handling charges are way too high. these people need to be shut down and fined. anyone with information about turning them in please print.

I did find a way to get ahold of someone. After ordering this product, I happened to run into sites like this that told about the truth of the product. Well, I decided to cancel before too much was lost. I did try to call and use my regular cell number. After having to disconnect early, I tried to call back. Low and behold, I ran into the issue everyone else did, getting the message that everyone is busy, that i needed to call back. I was hung up on by the system after that. Well, then I remembered that when I had called in earlier, and put in my number for the first time, it put me on hold, because my number probably wasn't in the system. So I put in another number the next time I called. IT PUT ME ON HOLD!! After about 10 minutes, I got an agent, who told me what i was actually getting. After finding out I wasn't getting what I actually ordered, I was able to cancel the order.

UPDATE: In error I gave the the wrong weight to UPS and U.S. Post office to determine the cost of shipping. In correcting this the shipping actually came to only $15.00 with a small insurance charge.

I was shocked to see that when I received the Awesome auger and drill with the "FREE" second set, that the billing statement reflected $39.90 for these items and $113.70 for postage and handling. I also requested extended warranty for both at $9.90 for a grand total of $163.50. I called the comapany and the Rep. said that when ordering, it is stated you are notified of the AMOUNT of shipping and handling. This was not true as I would not have ordered it with this outrageous HANDLING charge. I say handling charge because I am familiar with Postage on this weight of product. To verify this I contacted my UPS store and my local Post Office and gave the details of weight and distance to ship and both gave an amount of Aproximately $24.oo to $26.oo for this type shipment. Therefore the bulk of this PAND H charge is "HANDLING". This is deceptive and should be investigated. sending the product back is not an option because then you would be throwing good money after bad and not recouping anything significant. Also, There were no instructions included. Only a small folder about the drill. In addition I had requested an extended warranty and there was no verification of that only the statement in the drill flyer about a one year warranty which was the original warranty. where can someone take this type of consumer complaint when there are enough stories to validate the companies deceptive dealings.

Order placed April 21, 2008. Received two augers in same box. Called May 5, 2008, talked to Heather, she said the order was there, she would send it out. Waited 2 weeks and called on May 19, 2008. Talked to Amy. She said I should receive my order this week. I rate this product bad.

Bought this product thru TV. Worked great on tv when we saw the commercial. When my husband recived it it looked cheap and so did the drill. Shipping cost more that the product. My husband used the drill and the auger for about 10 minutes then the drill frose up.He could not get the bit off the drill so had to take it to work to try to release the auger. Very disapointed in the product.

I ordered from TV ad. I accepted the $10 addition. No one mentioned that S&H for the extra bit was $40. So I was billed $62 for S&H for about 5 lbs. Got the run-around then cut off when I called the company. I will complain to NYS AG office and credit card.

This was the most misleading ad I have ever seen. I purchase a lot of things and have never been as disappointed in this what I feel is so false. I go two things I can't even use and to get the Products I need it would be over $100.00 in shipping instead of $8.95 Sandra Hardin, Newbugh, In

I am very disappointed with this product. I received my Auger on 05-01-08. After opening the box, I found no drill. I tried calling the customer service dept. several times only to reach the recording each time. My order amount went from $19.95 to $41.80. If anyone have contact info please post to this web page. My drill didn't work.

I purchased this item for$19.95, and $7.98 S&H for an extra $4.95 you ge express shipping 7 - 10 days. my account was charged $41.80 for S&H, plus the $19.95 for the product. this is a complete rip off, and should be illegal, as far as I am concerned this is clearly a scam. the S&H is twice as much as the product. I have never felt so stupid in my life for being taken like this. the company will not refund my purchase, and does no honor their money back guarantee. what ever happened to excellence in customer service, I worked in retail a long time before I became disabled and for me it was all about customer satisfaction and honesty. well with this product there is no such thing. I am looking into legal action against this company that sells the awesome auger and Billy Mays the endorser obvously is a part of the scam and has no concience!!! Do Not Buy The Awesome Auger, This is a scam, and a complete rip off, not to mention false advertisement.

When seeing the comercial, the opinion one is left with is that you will receive all sorts of free attachments once paying for the auger. This is absolutely not true! You must pay a ridiculous amount in S&H for the additional items. How absolutely unfair. The cost of shipping these items is more than one would pay at a local store for the product alone. I will not ever buy another Billy Mays product. We are also emailing Fox News where we saw the commercial to let them know that your product is a scam, nothing more, nothing less.

Do not order from their website. This company is a scam! The website will complete your order without confirming it, and the shipping charges are outrageous. My $20 order came to almost $90 with shipping. I've been trying to cancel my order for 3 days without success as no one answers their customer service lines. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY, you have been warned.

I ordered this off TV with anticapation of receiving a garden tool I could use. Not the case--weeks later I received the ends of the Auger, no extenders, no lock pin and no drill. Have not been able to get in touch with anyone at Customer Service. I contacted the Dispute Dept. of my credit card in the matter.

4/28/2008 - Anthony Bennett of North Carolina, USA writes:
The Awesome Auger should be call "Aweful Auger". I don't know what you're suppose to be getting for $ 19.95 but it sure isn't what they advertised. Drill seperate, extension seperate and shipping cost on each item. Bill Mays, I will never, ever trust you again. If you're lucky enough to talk to customer service, then you've don't a great shop. Ten minute min. wait time. And shipping, PLEASE. Paid for EXPRESS SHIPPING (7 to 10 days), to 21 days.

I got everything except the drill. I have used each piece and they do work as stated. You must have a good grip on the drill you use because when it hits rocks or roots it will jerk naturally. If you use a drill with the extra handle to hang onto, it is more comfortable and limits the jerking when you hit roots or rocks. The extender is nice and using the pin to safely connect the two parts works great.

How come you are not able to talk to a rep. personally. It tells you everytime you call "all Reps. are busy try back later" and it hangs up on you. I need to get this returned and refunded back this crazy over priced product that they SCAM you on telling you it $19.99 plus S&H which most of the time S&H on something that light would be $10.00 NOT $36.95 This is a SCAM!

I ordered this early in April and it arrived very quickly; I was surprised. The drill is heavy, but also has enormous torque. When I first tried it, it practically tore my arm off. I don't necessarily see this as a negative though. Once I got the hang of it, I liked the results. When using it, you really have to let IT do the work - don't push it into the ground, just allow it to work its way down on its own. For the heck of it, I tried going down into soil through a bed of river rock. Son of a gun; it did it! It simply shoved the stones out of the way, worked its way down into my (clay) soil and pulled out dandelions and thistle. Yes, the shipping cost is much too high, but now I have the augers and a second power drill (for about $70 total), my flower beds are ready for planting and I don't have blisters from digging. That's a deal I can live with. I have only two issues with it: 1. The weight. It is heavy and can tire you out if you don't have strong hands and arms, and 2. They didn't send the extension pole as promised in the ad. Maybe I'll hassle them for it and see. All in all, I'm going to keep it and use it.
