I thought it would be a good idea, my car is normally parked with the afternoon sun on one side so put it there. Also had the other windows openned a little and a windshield shade installed. Normally interior temp. is 140-150 degrees when I get off work with outside temp at 105+ this time of year. Today was no exception. Also noted when I removed the product that it was warped due to the heat and direct sunlight. The solar fan was spinning like crazy though, but it made no difference at all. I would have been satisfied if it at least kept it at ambient air temp.

Save your money and park your car under a tree or buy one of those shiny windshield sun blockers or just don't drive when its hot outside.

Auto Cool is one of the few items I have bought due to infomercial. Do not spend your money unless you live at the North Pole. That would be the only way this piece of plastic trash would cool a vehicle.

I bought 3, and tried 2. one in each vehicle. the other was a gift. Guess I should have done some esearch first. Y'all are 100% right. These are JUNK!!! Lucky for me I purchased them at [] and can get my $$$ back.

I purchased the Auto Cool for myself as well as for gifts. Thankfully I tried mine before giving to other family members. What a rip off!! The only time the so called solar panels work is when the sun is on it DIRECTLY.......which is impossible because the sun/earth is constantly moving, so the slightest move and the fan STOPS. The advertisement leads one to believe that it is working continously thus cooling your car -NOT!!!

Took 3 months to arrive. Doesn't do anything whatsoever. Wheel does not move. I filed a complaint with the Michigan Attorney General: [] Everyone who has purchased one or more of these products and are not satisfied should file a written complaint with his state attorney general.

Just like everyone else...took two months to get it and it didn't work. A total rip-off and these people should be run out of business and fined for consumer fraud.

I purchased four Autocools. Used two in each car. They absolutely do not work. Concept sounds good but they don't work. It took two months to receive the product. This product should be banned from sale as it does not do what they say it does.

11/29/2006 - Scott of California, USA writes:
Long story short, this product does not work. At all. Here is the deal - the fan is solar powered and it turns SO slowly that it doesn't even move the air. I can't believe I fell for this junk. If the product had a stronger fan & a better design, it could work. But what they sell you is worthless.

What they don't tell you is that this product does not work at all on cars with tinted windows. It is a total waste of money!

I ordered one auto cool ($14.95) and when the package arrived, I found 5 of them inside the box along with the notice that the product contained chemicals that cause cancer. I did not feel it save to try it but have since learned that they don't work any way. We were then billed over $100.00. We informed our visa to not pay... and to further protect ourselves we will change our visa number.

Product does not work. Merchant has shady practices. Consumer rip-off. Don't buy this product. Not worth the trouble. Charged my credit card for more than the agreed upon amount. Charge $7.95 for shipping and handling and take over a month to deliver.

This product seeme to have limited effectiveness. If parked where there is direct sunlight, it operates although with very low efficiency. The full sun must fall directly on the solar cell or it does not operate. This means that it is of no use when the sun is overhead. You must crack another window slightly to encourage air flow or there is no appreciable benefit. The process of fitting it to your car window is awkward, and swithing from one window to another is more work than justified by the result. On the plus side, it does help speed the flow of your vents or air conditioning if the car is sealed, as it is driven then by the internal pressure of your car's fan. Overall, a waste of money.

Piece of crap, doesn't do squat. If you watch the commercial closely, when the woman gets in the car she holds the wheel for a second! Then she wipes her forhead, you see the egg cooking and she touches it again. This time the wheel seems too hot too handle. Pathetic, can't even do a proper infomercial

I bought two of these to cool a classic Mustang I have. Both of them together could not cut the mustard. Also difficult to use on older cars that have windows with a metal bezel along the top.

This is the worst product i have ever tried. Not only was the customer service slow and incompetent, but they also were none too nice. When i tried to return my produt, WHICH THEY SHIPPED me MORE THAN I ORDERED, they would not refund the shipping and handling EVEN ON THE ONES I DID NOT ORDER. DO NOT BUY AUTO COOL. casey

9/21/2006 - Joel of Indiana, USA writes:
Just as others stated, I too was sent more than I ordered, and of course charged for them too. Check this out...after 3 arrived and I was finally ready to call to curse them out, one more arrived! And no, it didn't work. The postings about the fan couldn't cool a matchbox are so right on. ***So, I took another person's advice off this website. I called and said they never arrived and therefore got my FULL refund. Otherwise they would have sacked me for 3 x $8 shipping, AND I would have paid to return them to the company. What B.S.!!! So in the end....now I have 4 autocools I can either a) put [] and get 5 cents (after I really really hype them up of course), b) give them away as gifts to people I don't like, or c) wait for the White Elephant gift exchange at the annual xmas party.

After 'installing' the Auto Cool, I didn't understand how it could work. I mean, you can't really see the fan turning and there's no where for the hot air to escape to (as illustrated in the commercial). I thought maybe the other side of my car was facing more direct sunlight negating any work the Auto Cool was doing, but I've tried hanging that thing on every window in my car and it just doesn't work. I felt like a loser with that emblem on the side of my window!

9/18/2006 - Bill of Colorado, USA writes:
This product is absolute crap-o-la. This unit doesn't move enough air to keep a match box cool. Someone ought to get this company for false advertising.

This product does not work!!! If you call the 800 # and tell them you did not recieve the product they will refund all your money including shipping on this item (they did for me) and then you can throw the piece of junk in the trash-
